How many coats of paint did it end up taking - I think I counted 4 - I have their shoe cabinet and it is quite glossy so I am prepared for lots of coats after the primer is on to get the coverage I want - I am doing a similar top coat color - you just sanded to rough it, not remove the laminate I saw - as I plan to as well, then a good primer

First i sanded it pretty good.. the laminate was almost gone. at least, the first shiny layer. After that the primer and then 2 or 3 layers on the dresser and 3 on the drawers. Good luck :-)
