I would consider those three to be like lifestyle and at most stationery stores tho, not art stores. I have my favourites here tho so i think maybe i'll make a video some day!

Kino is a book store but has a stationery section. It doesnt have paints etc hut it does have pens and sketchbooks! Kind of like dymocks
Would literally fly to tokyo just to check out a 12-floor stationery/art supply shop 😭🙏
Those pigment walls are activating that part of my brain that wants to eat aquarium gravel. Forbidden candy :'] Honestly wished we had more aesthetic art stores in the US. Ik there are some pretty stationery stores like Muji but where's the ART DEPARTMENT STORE. WHERE. I WANT TO CLIMB 12 FLOORS OF ART AND STATIONERY SUPPLIES.

Eating aquarium gravel made me laugh ... Can totally relate
Art stores would probably my main reason to travel to Tokyo. They look so amazing and I could get lost for days.
I definitely recommend you Gekkoso located in Ginza! It's actually a very tiny shop, but they have their own watercolors and those are super lovely! Their painting tools are amazing as well. I go there everytime I visit Tokyo☺️Highly recommended!

I'll definitely check this out when I visit next!!! Thank you!
I went to the Pigment store last time I was in Tokyo (a few years ago) and I actually bought something, just because I loved the shop. There's also an architecture models archive nearby (I might be a pro artist but I'm actually a trained architect) and that one is great. It's also not touristic at all, which is nice :) Sekkaido is going straight to my list though, as I use a lot of japanese brands in my work :) Thnak you ^^
You have to do a art supply haul with what you got! I would love to see that!
ITOYA it'd be such a dream to go there. it has such a cool history of being the first stationery store (? i think) in the 1900s, and its so cool that it's evolved and still functioning today. the old photos of the store are a trip
I can confirm that Sekaido has a much smaller location in Nagoya. It's one floor in Sakae. I also enjoy Tokyu Hands and Loft a lot because they often carry a lot of novelty art supplies. I purposely avoided the Sekaido Shinjuku location when I lived in Tokyo so that I wouldn't waste all my money! I have some regrets about that, but I'll stop by there someday.
I love your choice of background music....reminds me of the 80s students' educational videos from the UK.

Thank you!!! I've never seen it but i can totally imagine it heh ❤️
omg I’ve walked into Uematsu by chance when my office used to be right in Shibuya! it was so cozy but they had a surprising amount of STUFF 🤩
Ahhh this makes me want to go to Japan even more
i like that your video is under 6 minutes ❤ and the editing is sooo pleasing to watch!
Sekaido and Ito-ya are the two i always go to when I’m in tokyo…also Loft and Tokyu Hands (which i think is now just called Hands) are both also really handy stores…and even Daiso has some decent stationery. There’s also another chain I’ve heard another YTer mention called Tools that is apparently really good as well.
Itoya would be my heaven!
I’ve been looking for a video like this! Thank you so much for these awesome Tokyo videos ❤
I’d love to see a haul of all the art you got on your trip!!
These all look so fun! Reminds me I need to explore more of the art stores near me
Now I want to go to Tokyo!
yay! This is perfect, I'm going next month so I'll definitely go and visit these stores!! 💕🌷🎨
Oh wow. Amazing shops. Feel like flying straight to Tokyo just to visit them. Thank you for sharing ❤
Those walls of pigment 😍🩵💙💚🤍
. I love love LOVE Sekaido, Itoya and Pigment. I amde great use of my points card at Itoya and Sekaido. Did you make it to Kakimori in Kuramae/Taito? Beautiful shop for house made inks and pens. And Gekkoso in. ginza is pretty cute too.
My uni bff and i will be returning to japan to check out more art stores. This video is super helpful, we already went to the first two but it's still cool to see more options! ❤
Artist heaven for real 😫

all these shots are so cinematic omg??
Yay! I've been excited for this video:) That pigment store looks amazing, I definitely need to go next time. I find the MASSIVE stores overwhelming, unless you go in for something particular, because 5+ floors of looking at every section gets exhausting haha

I know what you mean, but in a way it IS a smaller store when you skip scrapbooking, the two framing levels etc and just go straight for the painting level and drawing level!!! Its so aweaome to have such a huge range!
i'm going to tokyo in october and i will definitely visit some of these art stores! such a useful video, thanks for sharing~
it was so lovely meeting you & rocket in Sekkaido !!! I was shook like the whole rest of the day, haha! already want to plan a trip back to Japan, so this list is v helpful hehe ty :))
The art stores in US could never 😂. I can't wait to visit these during my trip.
Man I would love to to just hang out in art stores all day 😩💖
that video is incredibly beautiful and cute... I caaaaan't woah....
Oh my god 😱🤩🤩 just creative heaven 😍😍
I’d also love this for Sydney - or like some of your favourite galleries etc.
Thanks for this ❤
Oh no, I’m sorry to hear Pigment didn’t feel as welcoming to you. They are super helpful there if you have any questions and will help you to test out anything you might like. I hope you’ll give them another go next time. Excellent video, by the way! Thanks for sharing your experiences
That first one looks like it has EVERYTHING! Six floors?? 😮 if I go to Japan I’ll be buying every Holbein item haha 😂
the colours
Walking into one of these stores would be a dream come true! So beautiful 😭 stores in my area are quite lacking
I love Tokyo!
As a tokyo girlie this is a blessing!!!!! I'll be heading there this weekend hahaha . Thank you!!!!!!
I want to visit Japan next year so I RLY appreciate this!! :,)

Loveeee art supplies/ stationery stores! I can stay in them all day and this looks like a dream ❣️ thanks for sharing! New sub here, looking forward to more vids ❣️
I went to art friend in Singapore after you recommended it!! It was a bit overwhelming 😅 but amazing!!
Oh my god... I gotta go to Japan. NOW! xx
Beautiful artvideo😊😊😊
I get so overwhelmed in Sekaido but I have to go whenever I'm in Japan. It's truly art heaven. I was last there in the final week of March and it did get pretty busy. Sekaido prices are pretty hard to beat. I didn't know there was a second Itoya in Ginza?! It isn't an art store.. but LOFT has a pretty good selection of pens and brush pens if that's what you're looking for.
i wish you made this before i went to tokyo months ago! I had no idea where to go buy art stuff
omg this video is magical! also what other tokyo fleamarkets do you like?
I love this!!! fank u peach!!
I remember Kisaragi, Miyabi, Tomokane, Namiko, and Miki (GA Art Design Class) visiting the Art supply store. Creatively is obviously very important in Japanese society.👍👍
12 floors of art supplies! I would set up a tent and never leave 😝
Hola! I am not an artist, but I am interested in cities and urbanism. Your video was amazing to me, particularly in helping me to better understand and appreciate Tokyo. ありがとう!
A six floor art store? I wonder if I can justify the trip, it looks amazing!
Sekaido is great! We also liked Tokyo Hands as well, and it's more stationary but Loft is good too
@furrylittlepeach

I feel like tokyu hands and loft are similar and that its more stationery than art supplies. Maybe i can make a favie stationery stores next trip!!!
I really want to see art supplies haul

OH NO. This video is DANGEROUS for my wallet
I WANT TO EAT THOSE PIGMENTS!!!
💛
Hii! Are those erasers or cookies?
Holbein watercolors and Copic markers are SO expensive in the US 😭
Bunpodo in Jimbocho
What is the comparison of prices for things like Copic markers at these stores?
@furrylittlepeach
Жыл бұрын
I've found that Copic is cheaper in Japan too - I think Sekkaido would be the one you go to for good prices and vast range!
Tokyu hands doko?
W
Arigato. Next time, take your time with your videos : )...
oml this was so fast paced it gave me anxiety 😳 i get youtubers have to cater to people's frighteningly shortening attention spans but it's sad :/ i love watching longer slower paced videos so you can have an experience vicariously, especially for those of us who don't have the opportunity/money to travel (r.i.p me)
Thank you for sharing! Would you consider adding subtitles to your videos? You speak very quickly and mumble a lot at times so sometimes it can be a bit difficult to understand what you're saying. Thank you!
this is inspiring me to arrange everything in a gradient 🔴🟠🟡
