Conventions are definitely the place where I find I’m the most happy, being around others who share similar interests and not feeling as alone as o usually do most days.

I love the smoking area's I swear seeing Felix, Sephiroph and Dio smoking a joint together is hilarious

I live in upstate NY and drive down to Atlanta every year for Dragon Con. You can do this too. Unless you are too young to drive then you WILL be able to do this. :)

I remember when i once went to a sort of pseudo ‘science convention’ called the “Big Bang Fair” when i was in secondary school in year 8/9 for a school trip to see what career a person could get in engineering. Wasn’t interested in the slightest but it was honestly fun as hell. I could never ever go to a convention by my own accord though. Especially to a gaming convention. Im particularly nerdy but too many awkward, anti social, chaotic people in one room would just be too much for me. Sometimes its better to not bother with the fandom and enjoy something on your own. I actually went to Comic-Con one time. I met Charles. The Mario man voice. Got a picture. Paid 30 dollars for a signed Mario poster. took it home and framed it, very surreal to hear Mario say your real name.

I’m going to a convention this year and I’m doing a cosplay so this is actually good advice for me, thanks dude
