People are being nosy because she's the future Queen of England and many look to her for her elegance and style. This lengthy illness or recovery could mean that she may have had Colon Cancer, Diverticulitis, or Crohn's disease. All three of these diseases could explain why or how she's so slim, and why she needs to be recovering for so long. People are more worried than nosy.

I had major surgery last summer and was told it would take at least six months recovery, I am only now feeling like my old self. As much as we would all like to see Catherine back to royal duties I for one remain patient for her return. The UK does not own her private life only she will know when she feels recovered enough to be seen again in her public life. Until that time STOP this media frenzy enough is enough.

Even a quick stop at the grocery store made me very tired. It takes time to recover. After six weeks I was ready to return back to work. Kensington Palace said that Princess Catherine would be recovering until after Easter. My advice is stop listening to the malicious propaganda about Prince William and Princess Catherine.

Oh for God's sake leave her alone..consider yourself going thru abdominal surgery & not being given any peace to recover..leave it

If that were me I wouldn’t bother photoshopping an old photo to lie to the world I’m ok, and certainly not go to a farm shop in the midst of everything, without taking a picture to back it up. This doesn’t make sense, if you want privacy, stay private. If you publish fake/manipulated photos and stories, then you can’t use privacy to evade legitimate questions.

I honestly wouldn't have noticed any editing or thought anything of her being out of the public eye until everybody started overanalyzing the picture and speculating about where she is. Hope she is doing well. She deserves privacy even though she is part of the royal family. If Harry and Meghan can be relieved of their duties altogether then Kate should be able to have a few months to herself to recuperate without being seen by the public if that is what she wants, especially since they already announced that she wouldn't be making public appearances until after Easter.

I had stomach surgery 2 years ago. Mine was unplanned but if hers was anything at all like mine, it could of been “planned” if my doctor had been more pro active. It took me a while to want to see people after that. Godspeed Princess Kate

Its not an extended absence. They said it would be until after Easter. The media are making it up to get viewers.

There is absolutely no reason for controversy. She told us back in January she was having major abdominal surgery and wouldn't be in the public eye until Easter. Why is that so hard for people to grasp? And guess what? She may be a princess but she is still entitled to her medical privacy.

In Italy the main theory is DV, which is of course rather unsettling. In Spain the idea is that she's in a coma. In Ireland, they dug up these old photos where you can see her black eye, so they mostly go with DV also. I've heard the idea that's she's dead on a US programme. But yeah, several countries, several stories. All because around this time it was planned that she would go to Rome to meet the Pope. Then she was rushed to that private hospital & the rapport is that it was a planned surgery. She nor the children have been seen all these months. The palace should simply get a couple of snap shots & post those. Nothing fancy, no medical info needed. JUST A FECKING SIGN OF LIFE!!! No doctored shyte.

This is the easiest thing to squash. Have her appear in public. No photo no video. Her in person. Keeping this in mind, the fact that they dont, and then put out highly altered photos, it nakes you question what is going on? She is a public figure like it or not she signed up for this.

I think the reason for all the recent controversy is due to what a Bariatric Physician has said. He noted that prior to her abdominal surgery, she seemed to have lost some weight. I can understand typical and standard photo editing like gamma or contrast of the whole picture, but if you edit parts of the photo like hands, legs, arms, fingers, etc. That's fishy and clearly shows that a person is lying and wants to hide something.

Right. I'm a website administrator and content curator. I edit, do a little graphic design, etc. This mother's day photo hasn't been touched up to smooth out a few wrinkles or to show all the kids smiling at once. No, that's not what the problem is. Body parts, outfits, background, and objects have been stitched together or omitted. This makes the photo a complete lie. It is fake, and so is the narrative that came with it. Kate, who is recovering from abdominal surgery, did not sit for hours, hunched over a keyboard, with a Stylus Pen in hand, doing a poorly excuted edit job. (Believe it or not, as bad as this "picture" turned out, it still took hours to create.) Why lie? Why make up something? It is disturbing and makes others wonder what else is a lie. Notice CNN is re-examining every photo they have published or received from the palace. Why? It's a credibility issue.

She's not extended it, the palace said she would be back after Easter, we've not had Easter yet the last time I looked so shut up about her extending it let the princess rest, please all get off her back you would not tell the world if you had surgery but I would like to know then I can hound you lot

It was reported at the onset of this that she would not be out and about until after Easter! What’s not to understand? Still two weeks til Easter today and this controversy started weeks ago- leave them alone!
