My parents have a pond that is overgrown with small lily pads plus some other grasses and it's pretty mucky subsurface. It's a roughly 1 acre pond maybe 10ft deep. They've added grass carp 2 years in a row now and I haven't noticed any progress. What are my options? Preferably on a low budget

Grass carps tend to escape pond water into stream or river. This is how I lost carps in two years

Let me ask do you gents see a difference with problems in ponds that are seasoned as opposed to ponds that are new? Just curious.....Great video as always.

Such lakes need to be regularly cleaned from bottom sediments. I do this with a dirty water motor pump with a Bagermaster suction nozzle.

Is there not a native fish that could be introduced to the pond instead?

Why the hell are you playing music while someone is talking?

Tilapia fish is better then grass carp! They work better and faster the grass carp. When it too much in the pond you could eat them. Tilapia will keep on eating them grass and never stop eating when they grow old.

They also die when water temperatures reach 60* or below, so they die each fall/winter and would have to be restocked each spring. Carp would last 7-10 years.

who does all this stuff in the wild? I think the " fertilizer " is just them introducing issues, so they can come back and treat it lol.

Please remove the music from the video or at least turn it down. I can't hear them talking.

Couldn't you just pull out the weeds out of the pond or are they rooted to the soil?

You could pull some out and clean up the pond a bit, but they'll come back. The best control method is Grass Carp and/or herbicide.

So in the wild, who comes and takes care of a pond and lake? .....sounds like alot of bs to me.

All you have to do is tell vegans it good for them and it have high protein lol

Grass carp used for pond management don't reproduce.

Yep prob al over the channels too loud, listening to speaking is useless

No grass cops it’s not cheap anymore. That must be a long time ago. When this video got put out now you cannot forward to put grass Fish in your pond
