@@stanleycrowley9333 The indie scene is where we gotta turn to find local multiplayer in the story mode. Big budget companies are moving to online-only, microtransaction-infested games, but the indie scene is where the passion is.

The graphics, the animation, this feels like one of those PC games that all the time used pre-rendered graphics. It has that 2001 e-Machines flair to it

Guns hit big and explosions burn bright. That's the way every Contra game should be.

LOVE Contra. Some of the most fun I've had playing games growing up. Playing co-op with my best friend and brother. I wish Konami would release a Contra Collection. Would definitely pick it up.

Limited run games just announced a physical release of contra anniversary collection. There is a limited window to order a physical copy of the game. The time to order ends june 12th.

There are two female characters: Erica Ricci, whose weapons are based on handguns and conventional weapons; and Sally Inohara, whose weapons are based on ninja weapons. Erica is your Arcade Mode reward, while you need 55 Gold Eagle medals to get Sally.

Never seen this one. Pretty much a spot on remake from what I can tell. Only gripe is the weapon effects drown out the music. Thanks for posting!

+uptown710 It's even possible to adjust the sound effects volume in the test menu, but unfortunately it didn't cross my mind to change it from the default setting when I was recording this.

That Chinese Contra game is pretty faithful to the NES Contra

I used to love when you and your teamate were on the same page it made the game so easy the blue guy was dope and patient that was my big brother i was the red guy all the time

this is pretty cool but wtf is lances voice

never seen this in my gamelist. gotta check!

The sound effects of the classic arcade had better impact.

Sound effects are to loud, i can't hear the music.

The default settings, which I used here, aren't very good, but I will take responsibility for not noticing and adjusting the audio settings. Someday, I will make a second video with the correct sound effect volume.

Press the F1 key to open the service menu and you can find free play in "coin options".

It was for Android before, but it has been delisted. The version seen here is for arcades, and you can find it if you look for "Contra Evolution PC".

Cos most of the player 2 controls couldn't match. I know my keyboard couldn't allow me to shoot diagonally (ie up/down & left/right) due to its combination of keys

I don't know of a way to change the controls in the game itself, but I did use Xpadder to map some keys to the right buttons on the gamepads. I wasn't able to get the controls exactly as I wanted, though. I never tried playing this game with a keyboard.

how can you play 2 player in this game ? When i start, it doesnt receive gampad 2nd, i use Logitech F310

The game did detect both of my controllers, but they were both Xbox 360 controllers. The keys for the second player are also on the keyboard, so it should be possible to use the second gamepad using something like Xpadder or joy2key. I don't have any idea how to get the game to just detect the controller normally.

From what I have read, it seems like this game was first for mobile phones in China. Then, China got a version of the game in arcades, which is this one here. In 2013, it was available in the West for mobile phones, but it has been delisted.

Rapid Fire, it makes your shots travel faster. It’s an absolute godsend for the Spread Gun, without it it’s painfully slow.

If I recall correctly, I set it to 99 lives because it would be a little more trouble to set a button to continue the game if I was using the default 3 lives.

As a kid. No. It's not easy at all. The life default as 3. (2% or 5% chance they change 3 Lives into 99 Lives.) The Konami code didn't work that arronmunroe respond.
