Continuous Parry Knife Exersise

Showing a hand dexterity and reflex drill for working the traditional parry/redirect methods. In CBT curriculum, we prefer the catch hold hit method as our primary entry, however, the parrying is still important because it serves as a fail safe if you miss the control on the knife hand. It is also great for emphasizing the off angling footwork and dexterity to avoid becoming tangled or trapped in the play.
The student will also add counter striking to the play including low line kicks, eye gouges, and ear slaps. Then they will attempt disarms while the feeder, (utilizing the Counters in the previous sections of the curriculum) will counter their disarms and continue to drive the attack. This adds the element of resistance and increases the combativeness to the drill while still maintaining safety.
This is the first time Ben has run this exercise and he did pretty well. Gradually as the comfort level on the student increases, so does the stress and pressure.

For the dingle berries who gave thumbs down, please show us the videos of your teaching approach to training a room of 20 people who have never done this before. LOL
