Your homestead is full of beauty and the improvements you are making have turned your paradise into a tranquil and relaxing environment to live. It was so cute to see Frankie doing his thing where he buries your socks. So adorably cute. The well wall is really coming along and your masonry skills have improved so much. Nick and his lovely wife are great friends to have. Always there to give a hand. Lots of wood to stack for a warm and comfortable winter season. You have to think ahead and be prepared for sure. Such a difference to your property since you first started living there. You should be proud of all your hard work. Beautiful home.

Such a step up with the closing soundtrack and the drone footage. I was moved. Also loved the opening sock bandit footage.

I can't help but wonder what the human equivalent of Diogo's favourite (I assume rotting carcass) smell is... chocolate trifle, lilac, fresh pine needles, the fragrance in the air after rain? What a character. And, thank you both for providing such a splendid space to visit and guiltily relax while you work so hard in front of and behind your lenses. ❤

Carissa, I love the way you're so relaxed, never in a hurry to do anything taken your time. Sometimes, I wish I could be like that, once there's a job to be done at home in the garden or at work I just get it done as quickly as possible everyone tells me to slow down. Maybe it's because I've worked in kitchens for so long there probably the busy places to work. But I think I've always been like this.😊

Watching you examining the rocks your building the wall from so very seriously, I'm reminded of the joke about a fan asking Michaelangelo how he knew what to carve away from the block of marble to carve The David. His response was he just carved away anything that didn't look like a naked man. 😂 (6 a.m. sense of humor) I think all dogs are required by law to roll in whatever foul stench they can find at least once a week. It's their way of reminding you that you are needed. Our dogs used to escape and roll in horse pats on a regular schedule. The bassett was easy to wash, the long haired collie not so much. 😷 Merry Christmas from my house to yours! 🎅🎅🎅

Very nice enclosure for your well, congratulations! I've made terraces for a garden on a sloping mountainside, I know the work it takes (without a cement mixer..). Some forty yrs ago I visited Northern Wales, Betws-y-Coed. Fond memories. Miles and miles of stone fences; more impressive than the stone castles we were there to see.

I'm struck by the stone wall/woodpile building similarities, particularly your careful examination of the shape of the wood at 17:50 Carissa, to get just the right piece to fit the gap👌🏼 Also, the stone wall behind the woodpile is a beautiful meditation😌. Thank you for all these visual delights, for Diogo's joie de vivre (except when rolling in pongy things of course), Frankie's steadfastness and occasional (sock) stealth, and the particular quirks of Albi, Joao and Simao. Finally, the delights of seeing all five of them in various snuggly piles on the sofa are the best. I'm sure many of us could manage a whole compilation of their various antics. Thank you for your lovely video, and the beautiful photogrshy near the end. I am always amused by your animals' antics: Diogo's delightful fragrance discovery and Frankie's sock depositing. Did he do that in UK also, and does he like to mix it up with sock donors? 😊

You would think that with those super noses that dogs have, they would avoid the nasty stuff, not roll in it. I can always tell when mine has found a really bad smell, because she starts to dip her shoulder to roll.
