If the user selects the teenager with no smartphone then the field of which type of smartphone will not appear. That's good. But how about the email? I mean, you have mentioned all the codes in the email and if some of the codes will not be entered, the codes will come in the email and the admin of the email might get confused (the one who is not professional). Please explain. Need help in this

Hey thanks for reviewing my plugin. Great video! I would just like to point out two errors: 1. you are actually allowed to use required fields inside a group. Required fields that are hidden on submit will not cause validation errors. 2. Conditions do work in the email. For example: you can add info between [teen] ... [/teen]. The info between these tags will only be shown in the email message if the group [group teen] was visible during form submission.

Wondering, so in our contact form, I get suppliers at times. I would like to include the "Suppliers" into the dropdown and when that is selected, automatically disable the rest of the fields or better yet, redirect automatically to another page where a form for Suppliers is located. @Jules Colle i have a doubt my list is working fine in case of like i have 3 countries show [EU-group-selected] if [Region] equals "EU" show [LA-group-selected] if [Region] equals "LATAM" show [AP-group-selected] if [Region] equals "APAC" if i select EU then it shows corresponding countries similar Latam and apac case bu if i select first eu its fields show second i select latam its countries show whichever i country selcted in the response email i can get that one but in advance contact form7 fields i recieved eu latam and apac slected fields

First: great set of videos. I needed to put a contact form on a website and was put off by the apparent complications of Contact Form 7. I went with WPForms Lite. Then I discovered your channel and after several videos, I am now using Contact Form 7, which is both fully free and much more flexible. That change took about 1 day. Comment specific to this video: The tests in the conditional logic may not work as you have shown them. If a user answers "Y" instead of "Yes" I suspect the test will fail and not show the next group. Perhaps radio buttons, or check boxes, or a drop down would be safer than a text box. General comments: 1. You repeatedly make a point of putting the form's shortcode into the text box of the webpage. It works fine in the visual editor as well. 2. I found that I can use standard html code in the form editor. This allows me to put red asterisks in the labels for required fields, for example, or to bold or underline text. I also found that I can just type text in the form editor and it will show on the web page. Makes it useful to add instructions, general labels, etc. Keep up the good work!

Bjorn, absolutely love how easy you make all of this. Thank you so much for taking the time to build your enormous collection of truly helpful instructions. I've 2 Questions: 1st question is about accessing existing client data. If you are like me, Im not a fan of needing to re-enter my information on websites that I already have a relationship with. Soooo....We want to first ask our clients if they are a Returning Client . If "YES", then we want to be able to access previous information about this client and pre-populate the new form with historic info so that they dont have to. (ie: Name, address, email, cell, Organizations Name etc.). Is there a way to do this? 2nd Question: Can a set of Questions be setup as a function that can be called when needed? For example: for New Clients, we need to know. 1 - Program Date 2 - Point of Contact on the Day of the Program - Name 3 - Point of Contact on the Day of the Program - Cell 4 - The Number of participants 5 - Time of arrival Turns out I need to know the same thing for a Returning Client! So instead of creating the code twice,( 1 set for NEW Clients and 1 set for Returning Clients), is there a way to created this once and call it like a function where needed?

HELP PLEASE - Is there a way to get rid of the spaces in the results? For example, let us say you have a dropdown of 4 choices. Great Video and information. It went a little fast for me. I am not a coder or have a lot of experience with this. I was trying to get my hands around the order in which you did things and it was confusing to me when you were copying and pasting things. I got the gist of the presentation but can not reproduce your actions from the video as it was going so fast I couldn't keep up with what you were copying and pasting. Good video. Though I couldn't work out why the group was not appearing. Before going to conditional fields, I noticed it is necessary to save the first step, the form editing. Otherwise no choice of group showing up.

Hi Daniela, I think that should be possible. You could have a checkbox saying "I'm 13 years or older" and when checked the submit button appears. When not checked, the submit button does not appear. The person could be lying about their age, but you have no way of confirming that. I hope that helps and thanks for watching!

thanks for the video I wanted to know one thing is it possible to do if the filed it empty other next filed do not show. I do not want the next filed to show unless there something in the first filed. I try making not equal to blank also with "" that did not work.

I am only able to set only one price in payment gateway. How do i set payment gateway where my clients select a service or product and only that amount reflects in payment gateway. Hi Rajeev, You need to use a shopping cart or product solution like WooCommerce to set the prices instead of setting them in the payment gateway. To make that work the payment gateway also needs to integrate with WooCommerce. You probably wouldn't integrate WooCommerce with CF7, just build the products in WooCommerce directly. Can I use this plugin with Autoresponder file attachments. Say I want to send a file based on a specific drop-down selection?

Hi Curtis, I haven't tried that with this plugin, but I don't think so because CF7 in the back end can't send different attachments based on what the form selections were. If I were to build this I would link CF7 to an autoresponder like MailChimp (paid version) and add people to different lists based on what they selected in the form. It takes a little custom work with hidden fields in the CF7 that need to be picked up by MailChimp. I hope that helps and thanks for watching!

You could easily present a link to different downloads depending on what the choices are, but I don't see how you can send an email with different downloads depending on the choices.

Hi Aman, According the developer of the plugin (on this thread: wordpress.org/support/topic/cf7-conditional-fields-wildcard-for-input/ ), wild card input for fields is going to be coming in the Pro version of the plugin. As of right now, the pro version has not been released. So what you're asking for can't be done at the moment with this plugin.

Thanks for your support I made a mistake... I run along with some raw JS in the same page which refer to some conditional loop.. After removing that its working fine. :)

Hi Christian, I'm not sure if this help page is what you're looking for: contactform7.com/selectable-recipient-with-pipes/ To make it work you would put what you want to display in the dropdown first, then add a pipe character, then write in what should show in the email message. Then adding the shortcode to your email will display the part is supposed to show in the email. I hope that helps, let me know if you have any further questions. Thanks for watching!

Hi Daniela, Good question. Unfortunately, what you're describing isn't possible using this plugin. But it is possible using Javascript and CSS. Are you familiar with JS and CSS?

Can you also use conditional fields, so that is someone would put in a ZIP or Postal code, the city, and state would populate other fields automatically? If not, any advice on how to do so?

Hi Stephen, You can't use conditional fields to populate fills automatically, but you could do it use Javascript. The foundation of that is in this tutorial: kzread.info/dash/bejne/ZKKJsbOlZKifeLw.html This tutorial gets the data from the URL to populate fields, but the script can be adapted to populate data based on ZIP/Postal Code field changes You would use the JS to detect the zip/postal code in the IF statement and then populate the correct city/state. I haven't researched it, but this may be a common issue.

Hi Bjorn, Thanks for this wonderful video! I am looking for a form where if a user selects a category, then sub-categories appear based on that particular category selected. Example: Categories are Bus, Train, Flight. If a user selects Bus, then dropdown Bus1,Bus2,Bus3 appears. If user selects Train, dropdown train1,train2,train3 appears and so on. If you check out the plugin page in the repository: wordpress.org/plugins/cf7-conditional-fields/ I think it has an animated GIF showing basically what you're describing. Pick a dropdown choice, then a new dropdown appears. You would create a group and a dropdown for your main category list. Then inside that group, you would have 3 groups, each with their own dropdown so depending on which main category they choose the appropriate subcategory shows up. Does that make sense?

Hello guys. on my wordpress website I like to create a multistep contact form that have a 90 steps (it's a questions i dont like the user to see the next question before filling the actual one). i know there's some plugings, but don't like to create 90 page's in wordpress, because it's a lot of work. is there's some other way of doing that? any advice will be appreciated.

Hi Ilan, Have you looked into services like Typeform? It's way easier to use than WordPress for creating multistep forms and you can embed the completed form into your WordPress site.

I have a question. Trying to create a form with 2 check boxes that will determine the paypal total. Can I create conditions that depending on which check boxes are selected determines to total of the paypal checkout?

Hi Daniel, I havent tried that with this plugin and my feeling is won't be able to do it unless the options are very basic. But if all you want is checkbox #1 presents price #1 and checkbox #2 presents price #2 then you might be able to make it work. If you're using the PayPal for CF7 add-on that'll be then next problem. It only allows one PayPal price to be attached to a form...

@@wplearninglab yes that is how basic it is. I see paypal cf7 has limitations, my thought of a solution would be, in paypal platform create 2 different "buy" buttons. Depending on the visitors selection would be linked to paypal. Option 1 = button 1 appears. Option 2 = button 2 appears. Not sure if that makes sense.

Hi Daniel, Yes, that makes sense and that will work. Just don't use the CF7 + PayPal integration. The only drawback of doing it this way is that you won't receive an email with what they filled out in the CF7 form. Which many not be necessary in this case.

Hi Michel, that's definitely possible, but they we're getting out of the realm of WordPress and into PHP. Which is fine, but this channel probably isn't the ideal spot for that. I have another channel where the focus is HTML, CSS, PHP and MySQL. It's been slow going because I haven't had a lot of time to create content for it :( I haven't add any content to it since I upgraded my camera equipment, lol. Do you have a form where depending upon the radius selection will determine what page they will be redirected to. Like on www.MrAppliance.com on the top, if you click yes brings you to a different page if you click no.

That’s not ideal. Make sure all your plugins, your theme and your WordPress core files are up-to-date. This could be caused by a plug-in conflict.

Hi Rohit, You would need access to a database of zipcodes and then some AJAX code to compare an entered zipcode to the database. As far as I know there isn't an add-on for that.

is there a maximum of conditional fields? i added 550 and there seems to be a problem because nothing loads

I tried to control it with javascript but hit another wall ... seems the select is not a normal select but a ul , li , tried changing about everything in it , jQuery('#dk0-yes').attr('data-value', yes); also the select option jQuery('#isweekend').val("yes") can't get it to trigger the change like it does manually with the mouse

With this plugin can't do that. But you can hide/show fields based on any criteria you want using JavaScript. It'll require some coding but you can show/hide fields based on the day fairly easily.

Yes thanks ! Figured it out, the contact form 7 using dropkickJS plugin for dropdowns. Need to instantiate it like so var elm = new Dropkick("#isweekend"); this is the id of the styled select. To change the value I used then the dropkick api select method like so elm.select(0) or elm.select(1) to control the dropdown options

What is the trick for customizing the message the recipient gets so they only get those pieces that pertain to them. For instance, I want to create a contact form with conditional fields based on who they select as the recipient. If it's the webmaster, for instance, then there are certain questions the user will need to answer. If they selected the Newsletter Editor, then there different questions needed answered. But the webmaster doesn't need the questions for the Newsletter Editor received within the email and visa versa. The concern is our Newsletter Editor, for example, will likely get confused if there is a bunch of content in the email that doesn't pertain to him. There will be other recipients, too so the email received could be quite large if I can't wittle down to only content relevant to the person who receives it. If not, the conditional fields really don't matter in this specific case.

Hi Ericka, good question. CF7 isn't the perfect solution for what you're describing in this case, but there is one way it could work. In the mail tab of the CF7 editor we often add the question and then shortcodes will input the answer. If you don't add the questions and just have the shortcodes then all shortcodes with no data will be blank. This would presumably only send the information the specific recipient needs. This wouldn't work well of you need to have the questions in the email as well. You could also create sections in the email. Using HTML and CSS. You could title the section with "This is for the editor" or something similar. Then they know it's for them and can ignore all the rest.

I'm trying to add a couple of conditional groups to one field; for example: I have a course that is available on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Each day is offered at a different time. I want users to select a time depending on the day chosen. But on the testing, it only shows the time for "course Monday" Here is my cf7 structure for this: [select* Course-level "Gevoerdere Beginners" "Salsa Beginners" "Salsa N1" "Salsa N2" "Salsa N3" "Salsa N4" "Son Beginners" "Son N1" "Son N2" "Son N3" "Son N4"] [group SalsaN2] Kies een dag [select Day-SalsaN2 "Monday" "Wednesday"] [group SalsaN2-Tijd-Maandag] [checkbox SalsaN2-Time-Monday "19:00 - 20:00"] [group SalsaN2-Tijd-Woensdag] [checkbox SalsaN2-Time-Wedneaday "19:00 - 20:00" "16:00-17:00"] [/group] [/group] [/group] When testing it and click on Monday everything works fine. but when clicking on Wednesday, no time shows up. With the change I've made (just moved one [/group]) the Wed is not nested inside Mon. That should do it. Let me know if it works!

Hi, how do you use these using the conditional logic fields for drop- down menus. For instance, I have multiple states, and each state has different job opening. So I created the drop down for the states, and then I created a group for each state with a drop down option of different positions opened. In the conditional logic I have it set up if one selects a certain state, than that state group is selected. The Issue I have is when it comes to displaying this information in the email!! I put the code for the [select-location] and then what?? I don't really have an option for what is selected for the positions. Ive tested adding ALL the group tags, but it comes back as putting the first option in each group -_-. I'm at a loss here. Please help! odysseyrehab.com/available-careers/
