Construction of the Largest Wind Farm in Southeast Asia

150MW BURGOS WIND FARM
EDC Wind Power Corporation
A timelapse documentation prepared for Energy Development Corporation (EDC). However, this presentation represents the author's own edit. It is not the approved version of EDC.
Featuring 50 units of Vestas V90 3MW wind turbines. Commissioned last November 5, 2014. The estimated cost for the construction of the wind farm was US$450 million.
Coverage commenced from the arrival of turbine components last October 2013, with the blades, nacelles and tower segments arriving at Omnico Port, Ilocos Norte. These parts were later transferred to Burgos through barging. Significant stages of the construction were covered: from Foundation Preparation up to Tower Erection.
Hundreds of thousand still shots taken using CANON 5D Mark3 with various Canon lenses. It also utilized a proprietary Long-Term Timelapse set with a camera in a metal enclosure shooting continuously at location.

Rachel Donoher Good for him, trashing that nice area for intermittent power. I'm sure he enjoyed the money from it, of course. Most wind turbines are subsidy-driven and ravage the environment much the same as oil drilling.

Geo T You do realize they can farm or graze right up to within feet of the base, right? The reclamation done on wind farms in the US is incredible. All that is disturbed is a small road from the base. The people who own the land often get to access parts of their property never before accessible. A 150mw wind farm running at 50% wind produces enough power for 75,000 homes. Also, thousands of great paying jobs during construction and maintenance.

It looks like shit. It kills birds. It is negative for insects. When you build these monsters you as human cannot live there without going crazy. They demand plastics, they spread plastics, they demand huge amounts of concrete. They demand oil and as I understand it the blades cannot be recycled.

I came here because I realized I hadn't actually seen turbines in operation, actually spinning. (There aren't any near me. I'd only ever seen photographs.) And now I'm adding this to my favorites. This was really exciting. A lot of work went into artfully and exhaustively recording a lot of work by everyone involved in the construction of this plant. Huge congratulations and thank you for helping the world move to vastly improved energy technology.

Except when the weather is freezing, then you need the coal plant. The amount of fossil fuels used in the production, construction and maintenance makes it so that the oil companies come out smiling and the taxpayers subsidize. Anything the government subsidizes is because the private sector (investor) sees no promise in a return on investment. The worse offender is ethanol..but if it makes you feel green while being stupid, then keep propagating.

The wind farm is created to reduce pollution in the world, like stopping the gas that can pollute and destroy the earth’s atmosphere, just like solar energy, it’s also using natural powers, such as sunlight. Windmills you see are using wind to create electricity without using nuclear power plants. This was critical in the late 1900s, just almost near 2010. *This is the years that I mentioned about*, power plant uses fossil fuels and cooling towers to power the city, but they shut down after the atmosphere was being destroyed, Antarctica will disappear within approximately 500 million years, to solve this problem, they have to use natural power source instead of man-made power sources, this reason is valid to the world, they can’t use the power plant and fossil fuel if they keep using, the world could end before even reaching 2050, this invention of windmills and solar panels changed the world. This makes the world more eco-friendly if they keep building this in the future, the world will be safe from any pollution, except plastics and foams, these are the most significant problems about recycling on earth, this will be gone if there’s an invention by a country and a person living there, so the invention can change the world again. Sea levels began to rise from tides and shore, because of climate changes every month and year passing by around the year 2000s to 3000s, I just don’t know. Just my thoughts to the world to create this stuff to make the world last even longer, this will be the world's future, no more trash and litter around the floor or oceans, everyone cooperated to keep the world safer than before it. The Chornobyl power plant had a big meltdown previously in 1986, or late 80s this made the radiation spread around the atmosphere, just making the earth's climate get worse, this main reason changed global warming and temperature, 2022 has so many clouds because of the countries cooperating to stop climate changes.

The largest construction project in the world is the Tar Sands in Alberta. It is an indirect subsidy to the fuel and chemical industry. The cancer rates of the people in the surrounding area is 80%, and these are cancers with incubation rates of 25 to 30 years. They are advising people to not eat fish or wildlife from the province. Entire flocks of waterfowl have been killed when they land on waste ponds. Corporate Whores from the fossil fuel industry say wind is subsidized? Unsubsidized offshore nad onshore wind is the cheapest electricity. Payback on $ and enerty is within two years. There is no paybac for any fossil fuels. Good video, inspirational.

The first windmill was inaugurated in Bangui by BBM when he was a governor. He was also responsible too to making this project possible that would supply 40% demand for electricity in Ilocos Norte. Not just windmills but the solar power farm that would harness the heat of the sun. Let's be thankful for we have a man that would help us out of the hardship brought on by the prices of crude oil.
