A similar thing once happened in Season 8 of the Arrow. Oliver Queen stopped the undertaking of Earth-2 which caused the earth and reality to decimate from existence. My guess is the earth has a natural order of things and if you mess around with it, everything gets fucked. But then its kind of a plot hole cuz how comes that didn't happen in the Flashpoint Paradox

Disregarding basic human arrogance which has Earth implied to be the center of some weird universal axis and a place of Great Importance, consider the size of our planet compared to the size of the universe. Imagine if the fate of a single atom at the end of your left pinky fingernail changed. Would you even notice?

The House of Mystery wasn't supposed to punish Constantine essentially. Constantly actually created those monsters out of his friends because that's how he viewed them... He was supposed to live in eternity with his friends, kids, wife and between all of them use the House of Mysteries to create a sort of paradise for them

I think it'll build up to that. It's implied heavily that when the universe "reset" after Apokolips War that the "Tomorrowverse" was the result. And now with John existing outside of time and reality we'll likely see him back at _some_ point, unless the ones in charge decide to just ignore that plot thread and "officially" make the Tomorrowverse it's own separate universe with no connections to the old DCAU and then just never show us what happened to Constantine. Which would be a crappy thing to do, but DC has done worse with it's love action movies.

Specter took pity on him and was going to let him remain in the house of mystery but John being John pissed away that chance with a combination of ego and self pity. So with no other choice, Specter tossed him into the void to experience the full brunt of the second flash point himself.

he can't the timeline that he's into was already erased by flash. That means on the new timeline there is already a different Constantine.

A easy way for John to come back, that'd fit the story, is if he's saved by The Monitor and becomes the new Universe's version of Pariah. Both are characters that have looked into the multiverse and have accidentally helped to unleash what could be the Anti-Moniter.

The Superman, Batman & Wonder Woman from the Tomorrowverse because they are different from the previous universe with different lives. Constantine has been the same person throughout both universes.

What you call the 'Anti-Monitor's energy rays' is, I believe, more widely known as the *"Kirby Dots"* effect. It's a style to represent energy that Jack Kirby created. Look it up. The use of this effect here is most likely to honor Kirby's legacy.

Pariah is capable of being dangerous, look at the dark crisis event that came out recently. The outcome of that event restored the pre-crisis on infinite earths multiverse and merged it with the new multiverse that came after that event, as well as being able to dominate the wills of doomsday and final form darkside (the theory about that form being more or less true).

Coming after watching Justice League Crisis on Infinite Earth's , John Constantine was uncredited in the movie... Came here to catch up, what happened in House of Mystery...

When I first saw this. I wouldn’t have thought this would have tied into Crisis on infinite Earths. Constantine’s life really sucks in the tomorrow verse 😕

Had to come back to see this now that we know what his punishment is. Crises of infinite earths was crazy.

This was just a prelude to the Upcoming Crisis On Infinite Earths

When I heard Spectre say “Woe to you, John Constantine.” My brain immediately registered it as “OH CRY ME A RIVER, LOSER!” I know that’s the actual meaning but still.🤣

So wait, it isn't over yet? I thought the whole DCAU series ended with apokolips war? So that means if there's this movie then we'll be having more things about the ending of apokolips war then?

It is, Kinda This is more like a short prologue since the Tomorrow Verse is the new animation timeline and as far we can see or tell. Constantine doesn't exist. Which is why he is scared and begs specter to kill him. Cause if he is forgotten, nobody would know you existed in the first place.

I think this was just to tie up the loose ends. This confirms that the Tomorrowverse (I guess we’re calling it that? Let’s be better nerds) is the universe that was created at the end of Apokolips War. We won’t be going back to that timeline ever again, but it does explain what happened to it.

@@griffincofell4738 I personally hated the writing in the film, and think that the way they portrayed Superman was stupid. One thing that people often forget about him is that he has super intelligence just a different way of going about it compared to other characters. The idea that he came up with to invade Apokalipse a planet made of fire by the way and still brought Marshan Manhunter and Aquaman there is pretty stupid. Also there is a scene in that movie where Shazam struggles to kill 3 or 4 paradooms only for Batgirl to kill like 5 in quick succession.

2:16 Ok, I THINK I could see why the universe _might_ be miffed at the invoked flashpoint… Darkseid was capital B BEATEN, his planet destroyed along with his legions, and any remaining forces would likely NEVER be what they once were again as their master tumbles in the dark as the eternal plaything of the one worst person he could have possibly been trapped with (any at best anything or anyone salvageable of the planet that was sucked in with him)… Meanwhile pretty much every other supervillain in the Milky Way if not most of the universe was either exterminated, forced/convinced to clean up their act or were otherwise rendered a non-threat, and the surviving superheroes were poised to _eventually_ salvage what was left of that timeline. *_Good had WON. Permanently._* That movie timeline could have been downright utopia if it could JUST survive long enough to recover, but NO. Constantine felt the need to egg on Flash into another flashpoint to fix things. Knowing it could go to shit just as bad or worse, knowing that whatever happens, _Darkseid is free AGAIN to square up for round 2 later_ AND if we go by comics lore he has this divine and multiversal awareness of his other selfs across time and space. I.E, the same Darkseid in current comics is the same one from his debut and every when in between, constant retcons and reality spanning resets be damned… An awareness that spans across even other media he’s present in… *_MEANING HE KNOWS EXACTLY WHAT NOT TO DO AND WHOM TO GET RID OF FIRST THIS TIME._*

Now he's in the newest Justice League movie came out. Matt Ryan is an excellent Constantine

in the comics john costantine is always "doing the wrong thing for the right reasons" and similar and is usually extremely guilt tripped about past events often using the "newcastle" event as a self perpetuating prophecy that can done over and over for John in any number of messed up ways. That sounds dark but its kind of the whole way Constantine has been written in modern times, so hes selfish and a conman when he can be, and the rest of the time the world is pretty cruel to him. In his mind everything is fucked and it will never end for john, if he dies, hes brought back, hes too wrapped up in the "fate of the universe" and is always some god's or super being's personal trump card, even God himself in the DC comics "uses" Constantine when everything goes to hell, usually at a cost to Constantine.

Anyone here also think that the end of infinite crisis will introduce the Gunnverse’s animated tie ups?

I think that the transition from the Tomorrowverse/DCAMU to the DCU will be similar to the one from the DCEU to the DCU, where it has a big multiversal reset (The Flash and JLCoIE), but doesn't actually hint at anything that comes next.

From what i understand, only reason John got punished was cuz he used his magic on barry to guide him on what to change in history so darkseid would never find earth. . Barry could change timelines however he wants, but would never be as big as what john constantine made him do.

Outta everything John has faced and not really shown fear but here he's terrified. Begging Specter to kill him says alot.

So what exactly happened to him?

From what I’ve grocked, the universe is PISSED and Johnny is suffering a fate worse than death. Don’t know what’ll happen to him next but I suspect something worse than him being trapped in the House of Mystery. Again there doesn’t seem to be any specifics or whether they have a plan or not for Constantine to come back.

In Dark Apocalypse, John told Flash to run back in time to change timeline (because to be fair, the earth was pretty much doom and most of the heroes were dead so might as well?) But you'll think Flash be punish not John

DC did the verse stuff so much better than the MCU

They did Constantine dirty, the man saves billions for making sure Darkseid can't find Earth again and the universe throws a hissy fit at him.

he didn't deserve this ending smh. hopefully he gets a good ending eventually

I wonder what entity Constantine falls into. Specter calls it “The Universe” but that’s an extremely vague term in the context of DC. For Constantine to be that afraid, plus the red coloring of the universe did he fall into The Bleed / Overvoid?

I have got to admit that I really enjoy watching these cartoons with Constantine like the new justice apokalips war where the earth is flat is dying and Constantine and the other dude that breathes fire etrigan that is a really good film to watch

If you listen near the end you can hear him scream in agony

The ending seems mean-spirited considering Apokalops War finished on a hopeful note.

And here I thought Constantine would reach out into the Marvel universe.

This is Constantine: House of Mystery, a collection of DC Showcase shorts, this short is only around 30 or so minutes and it reveals Constantine's fate. And no there hasn't been anymore as far as I know in the DCAMU continuity, this simply an epilogue, as there has been a new DC DVD animated continuity dubbed the Tomorrowverse that consists of Superman: Man of Tomorrow, Justice Society: World War II, the two-part Batman: The Long Halloween, a Green Lantern movie (I think it was subtitled Beware My Power or something, haven't seen it yet), and the upcoming Legion of Super-Heroes movie.

The horrific implication is that that the universe itself is *evil* and it’s punishing John because he tried to make things better, which to it is an unforgivable sin because it likes that its inhabitants suffer.

Kind off. The universe isn't necessarily good or evil. It just exists regardless of what's happening inside it. Breaking off certain rules sets the entire universe at risk not just it's inhabitants.

It does kind of make sense. Constantine erased an entire universe just to save one planet. In the grand scope of that universe, it was a selfish decision.

That is what pissed me off the most about flash's story; as reverse flash pointed out here he basically nearly destroyed The time/space continuum all in a selfish act of saving his mom yet he only gets a slap on the wrist for that, however when constantine in a noble act of wanting to undo the damage that was done in the darkseid war and restore the heroes back to their formal heroic selves encourages flash to go back and create a second flashpoint he gets sentence off to eternity in a hellscape (Unbeknowst to him at the time) of his own making and then sent off to a far worse fate when he escapes from it, the hypocrisy is so unreal it's nauseating! 💯🔥🙄🤬😉👍🏻

The point was John has too much power, influence, and knowledge on top of the fact that you'd never know what he might do with his Magic. He's basically a unpredictable loose canon with power capable of disrupting the Multiverse In VARIOUS ways that he doesn't even fully understand. Flash learned from his mistake ANIMATED wise and wasn't going to do it until manipulated by John's Magic.
