The funniest part about piracy is that one of the top reasons people pirate is to try before they buy. Piracy is more likely to benefit a developer than used games sales. Found an article by PC Gamer with some survey data. Up to 60% of gamers that pirate do it to demo a game depending on age group and income factors.

Same. I paid like $12. Since I live in Canada prices are a little more expensive. But $12 is a steal for that great Battlefield game.

Friendly reminder: it states in the Playstation eula that the reselling of disc based games is against terms of service. If you're playing a playstation and partake in the used games market, you are breaking the rules.

Physical media in games is non-existent. Even when you have physical, all it's doing is letting you download the game the same way you would as if it was digital. It's not like old school cartridges. They can still take away your ability to play the game at any time

In some countries you'r sallowed to use prirated copies of games you legally own. So you can buy a Playstation 3 game and download a pirated copy to emulate it in your PC. And you'r allowed to use a cracked version of donuvo games if you own a legal licence of the game. So downloading pirated gamesn't per se illegal.

On PC you can buy games on different storefronts...on Console, you've got PlayStation store for Playstation and Xbox Store for Xbox....

I am a PC gamer who has consoles and i never play online on the consoles.

I suspect he might be from somewhere like australia or canada where game prices are higher than in the us. When I look up games like witcher III and mortal shell on the ps store the prices are consistent with steam and epic. However, if this is the case this makes his claims even weirder because not only would 70 dollar games not be a myth, they should be the same or even less than the norm for him.

Piracy and used games are not the same thing. Used game was new and it already have supported the developer and because it's just one disc/cartridge, when you sell it, you no longer have it and when you want it again you have to buy it again. Developers never make money from pirated games. Framing used games as same thing as piracy is textbook example of false equivalency. It's like saying that car theft and selling used cars is the same thing. No it isn't.

umm.. that 1050ti was a fake 1050ti its one of those scam cards from china that loads of tech youtubers used to make videos on... thats how dumb that guy is he doesnt know the difference between a high end GPU and a blatant chinese scam. he really thought the 1050ti would be 90 when the real 1030 was 120 cuz apparently the better cards get cheaper XD he should have looked it up in the math
