Do you have any videos like this: find two consecutive odd integers such that twice the first is 19 less than three times the second

This video should help: Consecutive Odd Integers Word Problems: WP4 [fbt] kzread.info/dash/bejne/k6t9w6qIp5nRh9I.html
would please answer these questions for me? If you don't mind 1. A natural number is less than the sum of its opposite and 8. Find all such numbers. 2. twice a number X exceed 5 by at least 4. Find all possible value of X 3. Find the two consecutive even integers whose sum is at least 51. THANK YOU!
Thank God you were born.

Ok after your example, we have a better understanding of the question you asked. The Dividing Fractions video won't help but here's the link: kzread.info/dash/bejne/f5tpxteIgbTSo84.html I will give you the setup for your example though so check my reply on your other post.
@FortBendTutoring
9 жыл бұрын
The setup would be: (1/x)(1/(x+1)) = 1/12 The result is 3 and 4.
Hi, although we have the same answer either way ( interestingly), I wonder 3 consecutive EVEN integers are 2X, 2X+2 and 2X+4 ? X could be 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 so can represent any of the even or odd numbers. So won't I risk problems for some other types of questions if I do not distinguish the two clearly ?
@FortBendTutoring

Both setups work because they both define two values that are two units apart. Use whichever setup you prefer. The setup used in the video allows a student to use one definition for consecutive even or odd numbers. Using 2n and 2n+2 for consecutive even numbers and 2n+1 and 2n+3 for consecutive odd numbers where n is an integer fine tunes the setup for each scenario but restricts the student as now they can't use either setup universally.

+Fort Bend Tutoring I edited my question above. The earlier question was cut off at the end so could not see it full. Please see the bottom lines. I like the succinct explanation and the way it is laid out .

I understand Tango. Please keep in mind that your setup and logic is absolutely correct. It's just that the alternate method shown in this video also works. So as a student you have the ability and choice to choose the method you prefer. Enjoy and thanks 4 watching! :-)
