Conquer Your Mind with Wim Hof | Jim Kwik

How do you conquer your mind for greater happiness, strength, and health?
We have a very special guest today, Wim Hof. Wim got his nickname “The Iceman” after he broke many records with regards to resisting cold. Some of his feats include climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in shorts, running a half marathon above the Arctic Circle on his bare feet, and standing in a container while covered with ice cubes for more than 112 minutes.
Wim is convinced that our bodies are capable of doing the same exceptionally things his body allows him to do. Therefore, he has developed his Wim Hof Method that gives ordinary people the tools to take control over their body.
In this episode, we will go over how to activate parts of your brain using the Wim Hof Method to enable parts of your mind to accomplish greater feats. Learn more about Wim's method here: www.wimhofmethod.com/

I have been doing the Wim Hof breathing and cold shower for 9 days now. I am 73 yrs old. I have PTSD since 13 yrs ago. The first day of only breathing I felt the best I have in 13 yrs (since the trauma). I had a stye in my eye start after my 3rd day. It was sore for 1 day and was irritated (sore only if I touched the area, and now it is gone, after 4 days. Usually it is really sore and I have to use medication for at least 7 days!. THIS WORKS! I no longer have the negative thoughts and fear and defensiveness I had with the PTSD....and I have been meditating for 2 hrs a day, yoga, and exercise for years........and this is what made the difference in my FEELING well. Thank you Wim for your years of proving to science so that science knows it is credible. Although I knew in jus doing the Breathing once!

I can't hear enough from Wim Hof. I've never met a shaman from ancient Siberia or a flying Tibetan monk but what Wim gives is even better, a method for having health, happiness and strength that anyone can practice, right here and right now. He is a world treasure. I can think of only one person who has this knowledge, the recluse Anastasia, the inspiration and fount of wisdom we meet in the book series, Ringing Series of Russia by Vladimir Megré. Our purpose in life is to create a domain of love and nature gives us all we need.

Thank you Wim & Jim!!! I’ve been dealing with post surgical issues since having a lumbar laminectomy at the beginning of this year, and honestly it’s been the mental fatigue that’s worse over anything. I’m 24 and already had 3 herniations and am getting an MRI soon for another 1-2 that we think I may have. Degenerative disc runs in the family as well. I’ve been spending the last few months (most of this current year) trying to reprogram my mind as I believe my environment played a huge factor to my current state. Through breath work (Wim, teaching to alkaline the body was amazing) and mental training, the pain has become next to nothing (along with minimal cannabis therapy as it’s legal in my state). I’m determined to NOT fight for my limitations but rather fight for my progressive opportunities. I believe we have so much more we can achieve if we were to simply just put our minds to it, and you two are a shining example of just that. Sending good vibes, and going to go look for how I can impact love into my environment today. Keep up the good work both of you!

Our species once knew all this. We were very innate beings (still are) but somehow we lost it. And as we evolved (again) we handed over all our power to deities (via religions) and replaced our wisdom with education (via academia) while growing weaker and more dependent. We're collectively starting to see the error of the past and finally starting to right the wrongs. Happy 2019.

LisaDawnn Yes, Lisa! The religions have created people who don't do or think for themselves, they just ask their gods for what they wish for, instead of making it happen themselves. The old saying of "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger" has been replaced with "I am weak, don't hurt my feelings".

But this helps me getting into the body: the breath is the body- mind link!😃. Wim’s message seems to get across what I already read about Pranayama, chi-gong, but I haven’t managed to integrate till now. Thank you for this Wim. Thank you Jim for this interview! I was lucky to train with Wim a couple years ago, and then to do more extended training with one of his highest level Instructors. It is an incredible method. It’s so much more subtle than it gets generally presented as. It brings you to a deep place of relaxation, and then you just “let go” of the cold (stress). It’s accepting rather than overcoming or pushing away. Thanks for posting the interview :)

Kevin I hope your back is feeling better now. The breathing that Wim Hof does helps activate your TVA muscles and that is why you felt better. The breathing method also activates all the other things that Wim mentions in all of his interviews along with the cold showers. Most people think that outside muscles make you strong..(what you can see on the outside) but that is not true..it's all the underlying core that makes you stronger..it's mostly on the inside!! if you would like some new types of exercises check out Ido Portal and also Strength Side. cheers!

Symptoms of hyperthermia (feeling warm when one is freezing), can be dangerously misleading to the person having them. So reframing that state and knowing when to protect the body from permanent and life threatening damage is valuable self knowledge. It appears the immune system is a bit like a muscle that gets bigger with exercise. Hypnosis can switch off pain receptors and allow for deep relaxation which is a powerful environment for healing. Wim is tapping mind power with the knowledge of how to access it in a balanced way. A balance of technique and self hypnotic philosophy perhaps. Breath on.

You missed the most the biggest problem the affect us all, that is I believe the effect of mindsets on longevity because we are the only creature that am aware of that think and we think we are old therefore it causes us a mental barrier but Wim Hoff has open up a new paradigm a new world to most of us, that we were not aware of before, we are born fully conscious then we have that consciousness taken away at a very early age and we start to get it back in old age but by then too much misleading damage has been imposed in our minds. I like and follow Wim Hoffs guided breathing on waking then your 10 Morning Habits, thanks to both. I would appreciate your thoughts regarding above on longevity restrictions.

It is not the mind, it is the power of the heart. The mind is just a tool. Once you are in tap with the divine inside of you, then yes, all is possible. Of course, along the way you conquer the body as well. In Yogic science, the goal is to transcend the body and mind. Pranam.

I read in a book by Lee Albert, “Living Pain Free”, that in pristine areas, the oxygen levels are about 20 %,In urban areas they are about 15%, in households they can be as low as 10%. In ice cores that go back around 3000 years, they are as much as 40%. You think maybe we need more oxygen? Wim’s breathing may be the most effective way of getting more oxygen quickly.

It might be okay but he suggests in his classes to always check with a Doctor before doing his methods if you have any circulation or heart issues. Especially since his breathing method is essentially hyperventilation and can cause even a normal healthy person to pass out.

Assuming you are being sarcastic...Our God allows certain defects and afflictions....such as with Apostle John whom was the greatest evangelist and was given the visions that make up the Book of Revelation....he had a health affliction that caused him to rest his body....so these extraordinary humans like Wim have to have some imperfections or their Ego would be absorbed by the Glory fellow Humans tend to bestow on Super Stars.....wish I could say my own limitations.....overweight since birth as such an affliction from God to compensate for my amazing talents and powers.....I'm this way for being lazy and that's why I am here.....to learn from those whom have done it.

Male pattern baldness is genetic, not caused by inflammation. You can be the healthiest person and still go bald. MPB is purely when your scalp is oversensitive to the hormone DHT which is an hereditary trait. Considering Wim is middle aged and almost 2/3 of men will have experienced some sort of hairloss by then, it's nothing unusual or an indicator of bad health. This breathing technique is great but it's not the magic cure for everything!
