I’m Asperger’s and really struggle in social situations. My whole family are extroverts and their expectations of me weren’t very realistic. So I masked. But since Lockdown, I realize that I definitely chose the wrong people to emulate in social situations. So I begin again. This book, Awkward, sounds like something I could use.

Socially fluent = neurotypical. They're socially fluent with each other. Neurotypicals are equally awkward interacting with a neurodivergent person. Socially awkward = neurodivergent and "masking" in order to fit in to neurotypical styles extracts a high price on the neurodivergent person's sense of self and well-being.

Making eye contact has always been one of the most difficult social interactions for me. I've worked on it and try to remind myself in the midst of an interaction, but it's extremely distracting, making it far more difficult to say what I want or need to say. Self-consciousness and nervousness, or fear, is magnified greatly. I'm looking forward to watching the entire video on this. Thank you..

Eating a Mediterranean diet is the way to go...Fresh fruit and vegetables... no alcohol, no smoking... walking daily and breathing fresh air... go the country and breathe herbal air every summer and you will be healthy for 100 years old. And then, if your pocket can afford it go to Florida during the winter months for at least 3 weeks.... believe me, that is the way to live a healthy - life...♥!!!

Hi Jim, I have a question about growth mindset. Im at the beginning of the book and it says fixed mindset a quick to label themselves negatively. I do that too. My theory is that negative labels are punishments, they re an old way of teaching. I think it's about relating to failure a different way. How do you think one comes to label himself less?

If vegetables before a meal actually works why not just take a fiber supplement before the meal?, also eating vegetables would only take a couple of minutes before you start consuming the protein and fat , they still end up mixing together. How can this have any effect?,
