Congo says Americans involved in foiled deadly coup

At least six people are dead and 50 detained after the military of the Democratic Republic of the Congo says it foiled a coup. Video from inside the presidential palace was livestreamed on Facebook by the alleged leader of the coup.

It is not a war zone but rather partly a genocide zone in North Kivu and Katanga, the rest of Congo Kinshasa or DRC is totally at peace and it is a 2.345 million km2 country. But they were initially in Kinshasa where there were deaths after they tried to escape and they were captured. I think that the USA will negotiate as will the European countries involved and Israel.

As the guy above said not really alike. The attempt in Venezuela was a lot more complicated than most people realize. At the bare minimum the White House knew about it. Maximum, it was funded in part by Washington (certainly in the beginning but perhaps they pulled support). Months before the actual coup in Venezuela there was an assassination attempt via drone on the president. Colombia was used as a staging and training ground. This was way more sloppy than what happened in Venezuela and that’s saying a lot because what happened there was considered sloppy. US gov probably had nothing to do with this. Probably didn’t even know it was going to happen unlike Venezuela.

Congo is the biggest exporter in coltan. Literally needed for every micro chip . Gold diamonds , gold and many other elements. Yet remain extremely poor . The reason is outside forces meddling and trying to seat a puppet government that will sell these things for a guaranteed fraction of the price. They are also willing to cause instability in regions to make sure things don’t change . In business there is a term, elasticity and inelasticity. inelasticity means you can increase prices and people would still have pay , such as gas , electricity , cigarettes etc. The only thing that stops prices being forced high is supply and demand, if there is a high supply to meet the demand competition would automatically lower prices, it is inevitable. I say all that to say , the Congo could wake up tomorrow and charge the world 10x the price for coltan and the world would be forced to pay . However, this would cause a shift in power , and a domino effect in countries with resources . And would force the west to its teeth to make sure this isn’t the case and their economy is not affected. Colonialism didn’t leave , it just went and got a phd in business and marketing, while negotiating with a gun in hand

So basically the international community would keep threatening and destabilizing to keep things cheap for them. At the end of the day the countries with the strongest militaries get to charge what they want or pay what they want. This is absolutely heinous. I know it's the story of the world but I wish these products would be able to be charged for what they really are worth.

But it's true it was audacious or rather completely stupid, they should have tried to corrupt soldiers of the presidential guard who are responsible for the security of the president plus the Americans had written a book on how to bring down the government without violence and it worked very well in Eastern Europe and this is what irritated Mr. Putin even more. His name is Tyler Thompson; he went with his friend. This kid is 21- a stoner with the intention of just being on vacation while doing “security detail” for his friend. He has no part of this coup, the older Malanga dragged him into this without his knowledge.

Yes, but not because of this. 70% of the world's chocolate is from Ivory Coast and Ghana, not Congo DRC. Congo has the stuff for your computers, tablets and electric cars.

America had nothing to do with this. Its obvious because if we did we would not have included any americans in the plot. We never have before, why would we here? That kills the plausible deniability.

This was just a stupid plan, stupidly executed. We need to give Langley a little more credit, they would not have planned or funded such an amateur coup. This is just a nutty guy and his hired guns who got wayyy too overconfident. This attempted coup was worse than 2016 Turkish disaster, which was so bad people were laughing at them, tried to take over the Turkish government with a few tanks and one helicopter, FFS.

As does China who currently are ripping off African countries to the tune of billions each year. South Africa for example has suffered from Chinese corruption and outsourcing to their own people so much so that SA is sliding into the pit of poverty faster each year.
