In this video, Kabila is acting weird and averting Mobutu's gaze because he believed the rumour that if you looked Mobutu directly in the eyes you die. Back then there were many myths and legends about Mobutu's supposed superhuman abilities, Kabila seemed to have believed one of those myths or maybe he was just being cautious just in case lol.

The rumours were true, however he lost that power in the early/mid 90’s as he abandoned many of our ancestral principals and traditions. Our God gave him those superhuman powers and our same God took them from him, hence why he eventually lost the republic and eventually died that same year, it was no coincidence.

At this point Mobutu was so ill, prostrate cancer had really eaten him up. He needed support from Mandela for him to stand. The end was so near. The meeting was not very necessary.

How was he a champion of peace? He sided with foreign rebel groups that wanted to overthrow a sovereign country and invited others to invade Congo? He was a puppet for the west that wanted to bring instability in Congo.

I never knew such a meeting even took place. I wonder why Kabila even bothered.

President Mandela was the best person out of everyone in the video. He was a great African Statesman. Prime Minister Ian Smith of Rhodesia said so by praising him for being Africa’s first statesman. Furthermore, President Mandela was the closest thing to a Christlike leader from anywhere! God Bless President Mandela!

Although Mobutu is wearing a structured suit, you can tell he is very skinny underneath. It seems the cancer was really eating at him at this point. He looks so fragile, miserable and weak, but determined not to give up power.

@@joshuagrover795 You’re right. The meeting was just political theatre. Kabila had been working on this rebellion for decades he wasn’t gonna give up, especially with a weakened opponent. Mobutu was delusional. Years with absolute power made it impossible for him to face the truth. His time was up.

Quand on y pense aujourd’hui on peut dire qu’il peut être pointé du doigt pour cette erreur oui. Mais à l’époque dans un contexte où il fallait absolument changer les choses il n’avait pas le choix j’imagine. Et peut-être qu’il ne savait pas que les choses allaient mal tourné avec gens 😕

Mobutu was not that corrupt....he was managing the size of country from Scotland to Sicily... think about how hard France or Germany has hard time managing their own countries even with the resources stolen abroad...think about how hard it is for Mobutu to manage a country that only maybe 30% of the population has a Western education

Mandela wasn’t the man everyone thinks he is. He sided with rebel groups, foreign rebel group for the matter, only using Kabila as the face of a foreign aggression. He’s a cowardly compromiser, you can tell that Mobutu was disgusted by him, didn’t even look him in the eyes or shake his hands.
