1st. There is no such thing as puting your thumb on the spine of the knife, while using it. That's something that people who never had any experience with knives, just copied from another amature on KZread. (That's not the only wrong thing, that has spread like a virus on KZread). The only time you use your thumb, is your free hand's thumb for helping making some detailed push cuts. When amature people use their knife to make feathersticks, is when I see that mistake most of the times. 2nd, a Leather sheath HAS to be tight when new. leather stretches with time and if the knife doesn't sit tight in the sheath, when new, then the sheath won't last at all, before it becomes useless (won't hold the knife anymore after some use). Hope, you don't get ofended, I just love knives so much, that I can't watch people, doing those mistakes. We all learn something new every day, don't we? 3d. The other most common mistake I see on knife videos, is that all KZreadrs became knife experts, when they are obviously 100% amatures if not worse than that. to the point, they all try ANY KIND of knife, as if it was a Scandi edge bushcraft knife. Either if it's a hunting knife, a general use knife, a food prep nife, a whatever knife, they keep testing them all, as if it was meant for bushcraft... That and the thumb on the spine, instead of holding the knife like a man as they should, is what get's into my nerves every single time. They all copy each other, that's why I see it all the time. Try to copy what you see Mors Kochanski do, or at leas someone like Dave Canterbury, Codi Landin etc. Those are the people you should learn from, not from other 100% amatures, that look 100% silly when they hold a knife and try to speak about it... I mean Jesus Christ people!!! PS I probably have done a lot of mistakes, but I'm to angry right now, to go and correct them. lol

You bring some good points. I’m definitely no pro at knife stuff. I get the work done. I’ve handled hundreds of models and I know what works for what I need. The thumb on the spine while cutting…that’s very personal. If it feels comfy for people, who cares if it’s not the man way? Or a KZread copycat thing to do… I appreciate your passion. Just recommend not to get angry at what other people do man.
