Awesome. I’m a big fan of the Wayfinder. I started collecting knives 15 years ago, and I’ve been making knives for 3 years. “rf.knives” on Instagram. I’d like to see some of your work 👍

Neat technique planting the tip in the stump to make shavings and feather, all in a neat pile, the knife's not to bad, nice continuous curve, good edge geometry and a nice comfortable handle, good stuff.

I really appreciate that. I learned the technique from youtube videos of course. Thanks for watching!

“With everything going on now, in 2020, I think prices are a little higher than they normally are.” Honestly, I think that’s Condor. They started REALLY pushing up their MAP around 2019. Their stuff used to be great bargains. Still generally good quality gear, but not so much a bargain anymore. They’ve got so many cool designs it’s really a shame. They could be the number one player in the Bushcraft space if they’d just roll things back even 15%. Not sure if their channel costs went up a couple years ago, or if someone got greedy.

They have great stuff and at least they are getting recognition they deserve. I love the vintage look their knives have.

Clean a deer with it yet? I imagined it would lend itself well with boning, kind of like a do all. I really struggled with mine. But I will say a good part of that was I don't do such task with as large of blade, 3 to 4" parring knives are my go to. The blade was much larger than what I'm used to and the handle didn't agree with my grip. It's a fine specimen of a knife and I really had my hopes up for it. Made a banging Xmas gift at the company party!

Sorry, I have not. A Mora is what I usually use to field dress my deer. I bet it would work well though. A touch on the larger side for that though.

Is the spine 90°?
@RogerF
3 жыл бұрын
The small thumb ramp area does have a 90 degree spine. Any knife can be made to have a 90 degree spine with just a few swipes with a metal file. It takes 10 seconds. I never let the spine angle decide weather I want to buy a knife. Good luck and Thank You for watching!!

Good question. This would be the better bushcraft blade. The Crotalus Is a better all around camp knife. Just my opinion.

@@RogerF Hahaha... I'm messing with ya. You said you really were not fond of the Crotalus. :) Actually, I'm deciding between the wayfinder and the Bisonte.... or if I can sell my Tops Brakimo, going for a Bradford 5.5 in 3V. A little pricey though.

I tend to agree. Condor has gained popularity over the years and their prices have reflected that. I think the price has come down a tad since this video.
