Always good to see other workflows. This topic is brought up commonly. For precast panelling I've used the following workflows - Each have Pros and Cons: - Curtain Wall - Precast Panels as Curtain Panels - Wall with reveals (as shown here) - Wall then split face - Wall turned into Parts (The method I use most commonly) - Wall with Generic Model - Void Base family - Easily filtered in VG to control visual style of plans, elevations etc. Great content as always mate!
How to adjust the spacing of reveals if we want them at some fixed distance then how do we do that ??
I agree you could just use the line work tool, but that is too time consuming, especially if its more than a hand full of reveals.. Ideally there would be some way to create a recess family, that can be applied to a wall, with the ability to turn the void on and off? I think that is a 2021 feature so that will not work with older versions of revit. I am actually starting to go through this issue, I need reveals in stucco, but did not consider how it would look in plan (dark) and possibly also dark in elevations....I was trying to avoid using the detail line tool directly to make the score lines, but maybe that is the best option for me. Another idea I just had is built into a reveal family a course or medium detail version that hides the reveal(visibility) but shows just a model line in its place? I have not built the reveal family yet, but just for anyone curious reading this, I hope to follow this video(which is not all that clear) kzread.info/dash/bejne/Y3qe0dGnibvKfsY.html
How to schedule reveal ?

The only way I know how to schedule a reveal is to convert the wall and its components (reveals, sweeps) to parts… then you can you schedule each part
Why not just use the split face comment if it is just for elevations? For 3D i have a small cabinetry reveal that I use for schematic 3D and elevations (before i want to get into using cabinetry families) - for elevations I set it to 1 and use the linework tool to make one side invisible and just leave it at that. it's too bad that reveals don't behave like families where in elevation/plan you can set certain vis parameters so that a centrleine shows up in elevation, nothing in plan, then full gap in 3D.
