Concrete Fence Exhibits Level of Detail Never Seen Before!
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Unique mold making process quickly generates 11,880 lightweight concrete panels and 1,981 posts to form a 3 mile (4.8 km) decorative wall that will provide safe and secure area for a resort in Cancun, Mexico. Lead Engineer, José Hormiga, is a material expert with years of experience matching the right material for a specific job. He chose Smooth-On's Rebound® 25 brushable silicone to make the molds for several reasons.
Rebound® 25 is easy to apply and cures quickly. Molds are used in production the next day. The rubber reproduced the detail of the bamboo perfectly. The detail was subsequently reflected in each and every concrete panel. Rebound® 25 is strong and stretchy so it can withstand the physical stress of demolding hundreds of highly detailed concrete castings. Rebound® 25 also withstands chemical attack from the GFRC.
Because finished panels needed to be stained, no release agent could be used. Rebound® 25 rubber releases GFRC castings without a release agent.
Right to the Bottom Line; Mr. Hormiga states that Rebound® 25 mold rubber proved to be an excellent investment. The cost of the Rebound® 25 rubber relative to the number of castings taken from each mold was very low.

thank you so much guys for posting and sharing your thoughts.
Thanks for showing entire process, that was really interesting.
for some reason this video was captivating.
Wow that was incredible. Never seen anything like it. Well done!

At $1 a day labor cost no big deal.
Fantastic video. Thanks for showing how this is done. Seems like repeating this 11,000 times would take a good while!
Spraying fibre glass and resin with no mask? Nasty.
Fantastic work. Thank you for sharing.
The concrete castings will not degrade or discolor over time.
Very informative video. One of the best! Thank you.
Cool! Thank you!
Very kool! Looks High Quality!
What a great video ... I was edified!
This looks excellent
beautiful stuff, very educational!
@565Customz You could, you'd just need to make sure you have a very stable support shell. I would recommend checking out our Epoxamite laminating epoxy as well.
great video....But I worried about lack of respirators, really not good when working with glass.
Muy excelentes trabajos con resinas
Good question - but one which is difficult to answer. It depends on the type of concrete used, thickness of the rubber, texture on the surface, etc. These are production molds. Rebound 25 has very high performance characteristics and should provide a lifetime of castings when handled properly..
This gives me a tone of ideas
Thank you very very much, I was wondering for years,- now I`ve got the idea !!!! Thanks!°
Bamboo grow so f-ing quick, is sustainable, and is well know for it's quality and strength.. I'd still use bamboo instead. Concrete end up cracking and sh*t..
@RubbinRobbin

fiberglass on the concrete would prevent cracking, bamboo can crack too

Stunning fence very beautiful😘
excellent
I think this will be perfect for my wall.
me encanto lo vamos a poner en practica
Bravo , l'Artiste un grand merci
Muy buen laburo
Magnificento
Good job! Just a little question: how many times you can use the same mold?
Those guys should wear mask when spraying fiberglass.
would have liked the bamboo fence, that is some strong stuff!!
muito bom 👍
Superb!
NICE
Wonder how many cycles those molds can be used...
Idee de genie
That was quite impressive. Three miles of fencing made this way. I'll bet that took a good while to prepare all those panels.
Love the music
some metallic epoxy as a finish and you have a pretty groovy fence. impressive
Este muy bueno.
trabalhoso porem muito bonito e bom, parabens.
that is creativity
You can tell those guys take pride in their work
Excelent job very profesional i like so much how i can get those fance in my house is hard to find people do good job like this video
pretty sweet
the trouble is for me that it looks like a well crafted, painted concrete fence.

+snouty “the snout” snouterson the trouble for me is the guy spraying fiberglass concrete, and fiberglass resins and doesn't even have a MASK on! what's worse is according to the story they cast over 11,000 of these!

This is really a great project. Could the panels have the colors mixed in, or does coloring after give it a better look? Thank you for uploading this video.

Nice concrete fencing! What does a fence panel like that cost?
Fantasticno, sjajno
Los felicitó por su arte muy novedoso los felicitó por su vídeo muy intructivo les voy a contactar para ver si empredo con esta interesante técnica constructiva
clearly you did not think before asking this Q. How long do you suppose bamboo will last as a fence? This is concrete, beautiful and different. Unique in its class.
that mould was one well
Great creativity! That said, it was hard to overlook the fact that no precautions were taken to protect these workers from fumes at all ! How could anyone NOT be aware of the deadly hazards ! They're all going to die....
Interessante!
Berbagi ilmu sip bos
All that must add up to a very costly fence. Bamboo would be just as good.
nice!...didn't know this existed.....cement won't crack because of the fiberglass reinforcing and because of the type of concrete used
Why is there no respirators being used when spraying the fiberglass?
very good this idea, the more you have seen a recyclable bob never seen more can see right now is only accesses recyclable bob on youtube and you will see this good idea.
It's incredible how these workers never wear a mask, even applying fiber glass!, it must be an unavoidable rule in this factory, this is owner's responsibility.
@billtheswordguy5914

No its not...not in THAT company and likely not in that country! Never assume the nanny state will take care of you...get your own PPE and check that its not some cockamamie Chinese counterfeit. (got counterfeit cartridges for MY mask, and they were filled with toilet tissue! Grin! IF the company was about to get sued for damages to workers lungs, they would find the masks quick enough! But sadly, even where there are laws, who could afford a lawyer? I don't care for such working conditions myself, and would not run a factory that way.

Why is it the owner's responsibility. The employees looked like adults, should we treat them like little children just because they are working for somebody? They are adults, they can buy and wear a mask, quit or do as they are doing. It is their business and responsibility.

I've worked in many high end companies with fiberglass (among other things) and the only time they required PPE is when OCIA was coming to do a "suprise" visit
What is the name of the music that starts at 4:55 ? Excellent product you have, btw
when I see this I think Minecraft is piece of cake
That seems like way more work than using actual bamboo!

Both sides needn't be so thick - it could just be a cosmetic backing. Anyway, just because the poles aren't made to support another panel doesn't mean new poles can't be designed! :)

With all that labour involved, would it not be much cheaper and much quicker just to put real bamboo fence in?
@lmullen56

+DazzaBurns22 And then in 15 to 20 years replace the rotted bamboo fence with another bamboo fence?
@Professional_Youtube_Commenter
8 жыл бұрын
+lmullen56 lol bamboo rotting. Bamboo does not rot at all. Plus this concrete "fake bamboo" is going to be heavy as fuck. it does not have any metal structural support so it will break. I don't want to have to pay out for injuries sustained after someone gets injured after the concrete brakes and falls on someone.

+OnlineBackupServices Then why do all the experts recommend not allowing bamboo structures not touch the ground. Because they rot. ALL LIVING MATTER ROTS once they die, you idiot.
Does the mould silicone not stick to the one part silicone between the bamboo pieces
Its a good video. I don't think I would have made a fence that way...but the architect and owners were happy. They made it in a labour intensive fashion (employment is a good thing) , and the workers probably should have had better ppe...even a damp bandanna...but thats not the point of the video. This fairly expensive mold did a fine job, and I learned a lot from the video. Thank you.
@markarhu

That may not be the point of the video but it is a telltale sign that the manufacturer has little respect for the health of it's employees. A company so blind that it would proudly and quite publicly show how it endangers the lives of its workers - would you agree to working conditions such as these?
@billtheswordguy5914
10 жыл бұрын
KM HU I DID say they could have used more PPE. Thats Personal Protective Equipment. I have worked in similar conditions, and made sure I had a dust mask at the very least, a respirator at best, and safety boots and glasses. So to your question....sure...providing I was able to somehow get my own PPE. Do you feel that the company is responsible for providing PPE?
@wildcat19671
10 жыл бұрын
KM HU you know I would bet this is in an underdeveloped country somewhere the guys working are probably very happy to be working and could probably care less about ppe. hell their boss may not even know it is needed.
@markarhu

It's sad but very interesting that you think working people in an "underdeveloped country" don't care about the impact of toxins on their long-term health... I guess that means your only concern is for the price of the products sent from the "third" to the "first" world: they must be the cheapest possible, so no unnecessary expenditures like PPEs. After all, as you say, these people are so lucky to be working at all, so what if a few die, plenty more where that labourer came from... What a perverted view!
@wildcat19671
10 жыл бұрын
In fact my attitude about such things is quite different than you seem to think. My comment was observation driven, and not driven by an underlying attitude of indifference to the fact that ppe is needed here. Your assumption that I care nothing about people in third world countries and that my lack of caring is consumer driven is offensive and downright wrong. In fact, the driving factors in which products I purchase have nothing to do with price, and a great deal to do with value. I buy things according to quality standards cheap crap made in third world countries has no interest for me at all. I will pay 5 times the price for something that will last me a lifetime rather than buy five or more of that same thing during my life. By the way have you ever been to a third world country and tried to talk about things like ppe . A vast majority of the time they laugh at you. You see people are going to do what they do. When the big concern you have is where your next meal for your children is going to come from you don't give a rats ass about ppe. If you think otherwise you have never experienced anything like that. Now go make uninformed assumptions about someone else. If you want to do something about this I would suggest buying some ppe for these guys and hopping on a plane and taking it to them they will either thank you of laugh at you. I would bet real money if you did; that two minuets after you leave they sell it for some food and keep on drawing particles into their lungs.
this is Fn awesome.
just a point on the detail, you guys should check out the Royal Festival Hall in London, close up it has amazing almost microscopic grain detailing all over, and that was built in the 50s.
ถ้ารู้แหล่งวัสดุก็อยากจะลองทำดู
i really dont know why ,, but i have cheked all this video ,,
that pink goo reminds me of the pink goo in Ghostbusters 2.
If you want promises about strength, & durability look on the label of anything, and believe it. This is a thorough demonstration of the products capability. Careful you might learn something along the way though.
This 480p resolution exhibits a level of detail never seen before!
It is like for my house
just out of decency, get those guys some masks.
Wow really great idea what is size of post and do you have other video for casting post please

Smooth-On, I'm late to the party; How does it look, standing the sections on end using a single channel support beam, top and bottom? Like that bamboo pattern. -- What is the average workable time with the Rebound25 , example, 1 gal bucket , 1 man, 3 minutes or 5 gal bucket, 2 men, 3 minutes. How many cycles can you get from a Rebound25 mold? Noticed your guys were putting their weight into its separations. Thanks for the vids, super good looking product.
