This concert, part of the Guimarães International Guitar Festival 2021 (FIGG 2021) and the "Guimarães Cidade Natal 2021" programme, marked a high point in the closing of the cultural year in Guimarães.It was held in collaboration between the Municipality of Guimarães, FIGG2021, and the Sociedade Musical de Guimarães, it stood out for its in-person execution, unique in FIGG 2021 due to pandemic restrictions, promoting music and culture in the city.
The performance by Anabel Montesinos at the Church of Nossa Senhora da Oliveira, on 22 December 2021, offered a deeply enriching cultural experience, immediately following her return from Brazil where she had just finished recording her latest CD. This concert in Guimarães allowed the audience to experience firsthand some of the pieces that were part of this new project, blending classical and contemporary Latin American compositions. The evening's programme, enriched by Montesinos's fresh insights from her recording sessions in Brazil, featured works by A. Piazzolla, J.S. Bach, C. Tirao, and A. Barrios. It also included three Brazilian songs by P. Bellinati, H. Villa-Lobos, and M. Pereira, and three Venezuelan songs by A. Lauro, B. Canónico, and P. Elias Gutierrez, showcasing a diverse and rich tapestry of cultural and musical narratives.

…Chaconne?..No, it could be anything but Chaconne!..I love Anabel so much and keep my respect to her as an outstanding Guitarist…I know her much better performances of Chaconne. But not this one…She is shifting from classical genres to ‘having fun’ sometimes, from Classical to popular so to speak …If she reads this, I’m sure she’ll recognize my point…She needs to dedicate more focus on Classical pieces to respond the respect she’s submitted, accordingly…I am her big admirer and true friend so that’s what makes me write what I see directly to her attention…with warm regards…

Who said that it has to be perfect without any mistakes? she's human after all Despite all the mistakes, her interpretation is very amazing, musicality and the tone colors. And again who said that classical musicians play without having fun and enjoying???

You must live a sad and lonely life. Perfectionism destroys. I cannot believe after listening the this beautiful women’s outstanding performance that you have to point out mistakes. Your Mr. Obvious to point out what we all can hear as well. Please climb back under your rock and save your comments for the person in your mirror.

Unfortunately Anabel did not prepare well for this recital. In particular, her rendition of Piazzolla’s “Invierno Porteño” and the Chaconne by Bach were subpar, full of mistakes.

A quand une interprétation de votre part que l’on puissent comparé,une pièce d’abord écrite pour le violon,une pièce interminable un peu plus de 13 minutes et quelques 12pages et 259 mesures !!!!!!,édition Karl Scheit UE 16717 ,c’est la plus juste des transcriptions ……..à vous.

This is a very helpful evaluation. Thanks to you, this led to a deeper understanding. The guitar is a difficult instrument. I think there are some things that can't be helped, such as mistakes. Various evaluations are a great learning experience.
