    I genuinely believe as far as writing jokes go, Conan blows everyone else who has worked in modern late night out of the water. For some reason a lot of people don't find him likable, but you have to admit his jokes are better than most anyone else.

    ratings say otherwise... especially when he was on the tonight show. he doesn't test well with most demographics outside of younger people. for some reason Jay Leno tested better. weird, but true.

  • @ryndanriley5348

    +LiGht YaGami I'm sorry, but that's just simply not true. I didn't ever say people hate him, I said people don't find him likable. that's why he doesn't get older viewers. he used to make a lot of jokes about it on the tonight show with how little kids are afraid of him and older people think he looks like a creep. those jokes came from responses to focus group testing. I'm sorry you don't want to believe it for some unapparent reason, but there's a reason his viewership declined so much. and comparing it to Justin bieber is called a fallacy of false analogy, and you should try not to use it in presenting arguments. since fans of pop music listen to whatever is publicized and talked about, but people make TV choices based on seemingly random preferences and whims. instead look for evidence to back up your claims. and evidence that's pertinent to the conversation, not critic reviews when we both already agree that he's the funniest and should therefore have the best reviews. my whole point was that people don't watch him as much because they don't find him likable. that's an easily Googleable fact. haha.

  • @ExtremeTG

    @ExtremeTG

    Ryndan Riley i completely understand ur point, but do u not think this was when he was the host of late night show rather than now. When he took over the late night, a lot of viewers disliked him, and after decade of being the host, he improved and just overall grew on people, still some people didnt like him (older people, middle age, etc), but he really became a fan favorite after what happen with him and jay leno, and now everyone who know conan at least see him in a positive light (some are dying hard fan, some thinks hes alright, but rarely see people disliking him or even hating him) unlike jimmy fallon for example

  • @ryndanriley5348

    @ryndanriley5348

    8 жыл бұрын

    +ExtremeTG yeah I think so. the social commentary definitely changed when he got screwed by nbc. people still don't watch him as much as any other host though, which seems to point to those people still not being into him, for whatever reason. being on TBS can't fully explain it because other cable hosts still pull in more viewers. I haven't heard any focus group results since then though, so maybe it's changed. anything we can say outside of things like that is really just speculation.

And not to take anything away from him or his speech, I would also recommend watching Jim Carrey's 2014 commencement speech to MUM University. If never used to like Jim Carrey but after watching that speech, not only was I in a huge puddle of tears, I think the man is an unquestionable genius. for those of you who have not seen it yet - even Carrey haters like I once was - push aside your opinion of him for a moment and give it a watch. His style is like no other. He can make fun of himself and not do it in a depressing way. He can also be smart and articulate. I'm glad you're in LA Conan because the westcoast needed someone like you. Screw NBC and their garbage crap. Conan is the funniest talk show host ever.
