Computer Turns On But No Display On Monitor | Led Light On Fan Spinning | Power Supply Unit Pc?

Ғылым және технология

Today I will show you how to troubleshoot and fix a desktop computer which is turning on with led light on and fan spinning, but no display on the monitor, it could be a power supply unit pc issue.
In this youtube video tutorial, I show you how to troubleshoot and fix a very common issue caused by a common problem. This computer turns on but no display on monitor screen. At first you might think there is a problem with the graphics card, or monitor, or cables or even motherboard. In today's case it is a power supply unit issue, although deceivingly it looks like it should be working since there are signs of life.

Thank you for your video! About 11 months ago I built my first pc, used my old 600w power supply, old 240GB SSD, old case and old liquid CPU cooler, I bought brand new a B450 Aorus Elite motherboard, Ryzen 3600X CPU, 2X 8GB T-Force 3200mhz DDR4 RAM and a Gigabyte geforce gtx 1660 TI 6GB. Been running faultless till today which when I switched it on it had no post, had the red LED lit up on the motherboard, first the DRAM lights up for a few seconds then switches to the CPU LED and back to the DRAM LED and stays there. Only tried swapping the RAM sticks around and tried running it with only one RAM stick and same outcome. Last time I used the PC the night before it was running perfectly and all I used it for was to watch a few youtube videos for about 20 mins and then shut it down. No CPU or graphics card overclocking, just the XMP profile for the RAM to get the 3200mhz. Which has been set and running that way for over 10 months. I'm guessing by your video it's the power supply unit... Hopefully!!! I always check the running temperature's often but also could be the RAM. What you think?

For those wondering if I fixed it didn’t. I tried everything and didn’t get it to work so I blamed it on the motherboard. But I looked back on the problem long after I got rid of the motherboard. I looked at a forum and someone had the same problem as me. He found out it was the cpu. I still don’t know exactly if that was the problem but it seemed to be because I checked everything but the cpu. I now built my own pc. That other one was a hp prebuilt

It works on my PC, I thought that the PSU was okay, the fan was spinning through black and grey port testing. My suspect was the motherboard and to buy a new one is so expensive, until I watched this video. I already tested all parts including RAM, GPU, Monitor, cables etc., then, when I replaced it with new PSU, my PC works well. Big thanks to you dude!!! Hope to talk with you soon. After I put the new PSU in, I turned the PC on and the display worked for a split second but then went black, I tried everything in the videos..but when I swapped the cable it worked just fine...I know the other cable isn't broke too...This has happened to me at least 3 times with this type of motherboard. Maybe this is someone else's problem too, so figured I'd post a comment. Hope I helped.

Step 2: if the PC case ain’t fitting the graphic card right, like you have to push hard at the PC case’s back panel in to make the screw hole align with the graphic card, or there are gaps you need to insert cards to fill them, the graphic card is installed into place, but after a few weeks later there’s no more display. The solution is to replace the PC case or find another way to install the graphic card without putting to much “strains” on it, so it’s fit into place and be installed more freely.

My computer was doing well and after changing my cpu for a new one was working well and did a couple reboots before for updating the Bios and so far so good. I was checking the amd settings and showed me a new optional update aaaand asked me for a restart SO I DID, turned off and didnt boot properly since that. BLACK SCREEN and i had to force shut down sadly (mouse and keyboard not working when black screen happened). So i boot up try to update driver again to see if that was the failure and it did AGAIN but this time didnt wanted to turn on. I have this pc for 2 weeks now. Any suggestions?

If it boots correctly - every now and then - then the debug led displays codes. I'm curious if I have the psu problem also, but just for the 4 pin. Could this be the case? Thanks Edit: it was indeed the psu. Replaced it and it works

Hey guys I just wanna share my experience and hope it helps someone out there. So I’m new to building PCs and built my first one. Everything seemed to be working fine. The fans were spinning, the lights were glowing, etc. I plug in the hdmi cord to my monitor and nothing happened. It said “no signal” after doing a lot of research I thought my motherboard was broken BUT that wasn’t the case. Okay let me get to the point. What I did was turn everything off, unplugged the outlet cord and held the power button for 20 seconds then I unplugged and plugged back in the cords from the motherboard (the ones from the power supply such as the power cord, the cpu cord, basically the cords that come with the power supply but I disconnected them from the motherboard and connected them back) I also took the battery off the motherboard for 15 seconds (the little coin looking thing on your motherboard) and then put it back. NOTE: I did this all at once so idk which one was the problem so I recommend doing all of these in one go. I didn’t do this one but it could help you, I read that disconnecting the ram and putting it back also helped or it could also be that you put the ram on the wrong slots (for me it was slots A2 and B2 which were recommended on the motherboard manuals that you should read. Also the slots are labeled in most of the motherboards) another thing was connecting the PCle cable onto the graphics card itself and not on the motherboard. Anyways hope this helped some of you guys.

HealMyTech I have a question brother from my Asus P4P800-E Deluxe motherboard. I just bought brand new 850 Watt ATX power supply and tested it with power supply tester it came out correctly voltage output 3.3V, 5V and 12Volts. I just repaired my motherboard. Replaced one bad Mosfet 06N03LA and 1 bad bulging capacitor 1500uF 6.3V 8mmx20mm size in to brand new same value same size which is that's beside the CPU processor. Then plugged-in just the power supply in motherboard nothing else...no any device cards nor RAM memory nor HD/SSD etc. just the fans. Turned on power supply and the green LED on the motherboard turns on. Pressed the switch on button and all fan turns on. I did not plug-in RAM memory. But If the memory is not install it supposed to go beep signs on speaker of motherboard but it's not giving beep signal. If the motherboard go beep that means the motherboard is good but it's not giving any beep signal. I tried to reset the CMOS jumper switch by the battery, still the same no beep. Is this means motherboard is bad? If so, what's the real issue? Is BIOS chip bad? I'm not sure. Do you think the 850Watt ATX power supply and all ATX power supply are universally compatible to any ATX desktop motherboard? Is the CPU may be bad? Can you suggest something brother please? Let me know please....I'll be waiting....

Ace Video you are so helful -and you are so polite . I use these servers the older generation -and yes they have problems exact as you explain . I may thinkthe fault it is Ram - But it could be dust-it could be powersupply - it could be graphics - it could be a cable -it could be the mother board .I am no where near your knowledge but in the past I had to learn from Experts and listen to and learn from them .Now they have moved 200 miles away and now I get a fault . IT is SO GOOD to find your channel which is exactly on the spot correct .I know Frinds who have made compuers when they wer kids - now the in there 40s .There is hrdly anything they do not know -BUT they do not offer there services easily thses days . Hnce why your channel I hear expertesewords Good Brands of ram - .good tests in one shot .It helps me as I still use the old servers they seem to last so lond -if you look after them -and update what you can as said ONE of the best channels I have ever found -Respect and hope you do more .I like the fact its all one video -so we can see everything -without editing -also good not to use Music - Voice isss good and clear - Good camera work - accuracy 100 pervcent -its also very calming to watch ( which only leads one question do we need a loud intro ? ) when everything else is perfect Respect

Step 1: remove the suspected graphic card from the PC and install a lower profile graphic card into the PC, or try another graphic card by smaller physical size. If the lower profile graphic card works, then install the suspected graphic card back into the PC and see if it gives display or not. You might think it must be the suspected graphic card that’s faulty if another graphic card works in the PC, but that’s not always be the case, in rare some cases it takes another graphic card installed and be able to display, then install the suspected graphic card back in, then if the method works, all the pc startup works fine with the suspected graphic card unless it has been removed from the PC, if you did removed the graphic card and installed it back in again and again there’s no display, then you need to repeat the quoted steps - to try another graphic card in the pc before putting the suspected graphic card back in.

Does this have to do with any power signals that are getting sent? Not quite sure why it straight up turns on when my pc has been off for like minutes but it doesnt when my pc is off for a long time. Started happening recently actually but it would be worth fixing if i can somehow.

alright, so i recently went to microcenter due to this problem said it was due to a bad mobo, fine, i got a brand new one and shortly after all the drivers im still getting the same issue, would the PSU be at fault here? from what i saw was either the mouse lighting up while the keyboard doesn't at all while the system was off, any idea of what may cause the dram(orange) light to stay solid sometimes?
