    I installed one myself. That torque tool would of been useful. I did let the AC guy pump it down and he checked my connections. That was 15 years ago. It’s been flawless. A lizard did get in and short a board but it was an easy fix. I sealed that area up so hopefully they can’t get in again.

    Honestly I can tell you don't volunteer information like I'm universal certified people shake their head at that they'll ask you if you have an EPA card that just means you know the refrigerant laws that's necessarily doesn't mean you're a great technician a lot of people think that automatically makes them a technician I'm not saying you're saying that but the interview process keep your hands in front of you folded in front of you keep your phone off or volume turned down don't look at anything at your phone keep your focus on the interviewer when asked a question just answer it honestly but don't volunteer anything that doesn't need to be said at the interview sometimes interviewers just like to ask the questions and be in charge of the interview that's how it works hope that helps I know that was a year ago but you might have learned something in the whole year

    Don't know how easy that would be as he would probably need the customers permission. • @devinpaddock2569

    @devinpaddock2569

    If you are pushing to sell I feel you could be doing it wrong, it’s super simple the best way to “sell” is to openly communicate with the homeowner and just inform them of what you found. Give them some options ranging in price and if they ask your opinion be honest. If it’s a 13+ year old system it might be time to change it depending on the condition of everything, if it’s 8 years old you might want to lean more towards repair while it’s under warranty.

    Pretty regularly see systems low on refrigerant, we suspect it is low from the original installers lack of adding more refrigerant to account for the length of the line set. If it’s a repeated issue of being low would mean a leak.

    You may not want to reuse copper flare for a quality work because the copper has already been compressed in annealed there for limiting its ability to compress and conform the second time. It May seal now they usually leak years later it’s just gambling. Copper was never meant to be compressed more than once.

The other 20% are due to electrical feed issues of low percentages in summer when in high demand and then the rodent highway of squirrels on lines destroying them.

    This dude is the furthest thing from a fly by nighter... as far as I know there is no written law that HVAC guys gotta be in boot and jeans for residential service calls.

    @@tyharvey7636 The last thing I'd want, as a customer, is my service tech to be uncomfortable. Uncomfortable people tend to rush jobs or make mistakes. On a personal level, if I was built like him, I'd show it off too. LOL

    "Looking good" doesnt fix units or make people honest and knowledgable. Ive been doing this for 11 years in shorts and t-shirts with tennis shoes. Pants, boots, and long sleeves only when necessary. Interestingly, when i show up and repair a unit others refuse to simply fix, customers dont seem to care and ask for alot of business cards afterwards.

    The motor wasn’t running and had power it’s either a bad cap or bad motor. After around 10,000 service calls it get to where you just know.
