Today’s video is a “Day in the Life” style with a couple service calls, errands, and a lunch meeting with some potential clients. The first call was a no heat on a Rheem gas package unit and the second call was replacing a condenser fan motor and blade on an old Heil system. Picked up a couple hvac dollies from powder coating, a new Milwaukee packout 3 drawer box, and had a lunch meeting with a local hvac contractor about possibly creating some content for their company’s social media. Hope you enjoy!

These videos are always great. I'm in school for hvac now and I've learned just as much from these videos as I have from school.

I had a 13.5 hour day last Friday. Just to move a condenser unit to the other side of a house. Should of taken me a couple of hours. Everything went wrong. It happens. Hard not to get disappointed and discouraged.

Nice. Where you at in S tx?
That fan motor bolt issue is why I keep some of those extras in the truck when I take a old motor out and they look good I'll swipe the bolts out of it, saves a head ache here and there. Also little tip a wire brush on your drill works well with the penetrating oil. Get it the habit of showing your customers the invoice with the charges when you tell the cost they appreciate it and it forces you into the building out your invoices while your onsite.
Finally a new one I think I have caught up with all your videos 😎😎😎
Love this style of vids brother keep up the good work 🤙🏼
Looking forward to that truck tour and that dolly you made was awesome. That's great you're making them available to the fans.
That baby boy is worth working as hard you do every day. I always wondered your motivation and I see it now. Good job buddy, keep it up

Smooth day. Thanks for sharing 😎
Love that shirt. “RTFM”! I might have to get one myself.
Motivation all the way 👌🏼
Looking forward to the truck setup, we run f150s so I'm looking for some ideas. Good stuff as usual!
Same stuff happened to me with the fan motor! Straight out of the box the bits were bent. 🙈
I have never seen a furnace unit outside. I guess it doesn’t get that cold in winter . BTW: That was THE best way to start a work day, hats off to ya !!

They call them package units, they are all in 1 unit that do ac and heat. Nothing inside except duct work. I see alot in trailers and retirement homes. You have seen many of them, just look up not down. They are used in commercial applications on roof tops. Work well in cold areas. Residential use is for sound or space. Trailer don't have a lot of space. I had another Residential customer tell me they did it because they didn't like the idea of having a gas furnace in the house. So add safety for another reason.

As suck as damaged new parts can be, you could have removed the mounting bolts from the defective motor and swapped them out. It’s happened to me in the past. Sometimes in the field you’ve got to do what you gotta do! Love the vids! Keep it up.

I see you from Havana Cuba 👍👍👍great job.
You talking to me to bro I feel u I be out side in the morning feeling out paperwork from the previous jobs in front the shop we not electronic yet lol pms and service and start ups
Always expect something will go wrong because it will
When mount is bent like that use the old one off the old motor.....the entire thing. Stronger than bending it. The safe way is to take them out one by one on the new motor. I'm sure you checked the shaft to make sure it didn't take a hit too.
Those ants get into everything, like the bit holder, malco, their expensive.
Email later and hope they pay 🙏 😆. Writing info on paper still faster than typing online plus not sure but that's probably a monthly fee? I gotta be paid on the spot or it feels like I haven't made any money yet. That would drive me nuts. 🤪😜
It s-u-x when you go w/ OEM parts and they’re still messed up.
That’s happened to me before and I couldn’t fix. So I took one off old motor and got customer going.
Check the port coming off the draft motor. They always clogged up. Should of checked the heat exchanger on the Rheem, they all crack.
I’ll never forget when I started working In Pennell a few days later I was fired I couldn’t pass the test they made me go under the house to see if I can able to understand on the walkie radio my self I’m deaf one of my worse experience with hearing people, ending found a job called Rescue Rooter I proof them I was a badass worker I installed three furnaces into the attic in difference location now I just installed package 3 ton three years ago felt good kinda miss doing A/C but most people don’t have any idea what like working in the attic during hot day ain’t no fun at all
@Gcanno
3 жыл бұрын
If you put a box fan in the access it brings the Temps down and makes working way easier. If the Ac is working take off a supply and run the cooling . One word of caution tape off the registers if ductwork is off so to avoid dust or anything in the attic entering the living space ,and Customers being extremely angry.

Interested in a dolly , I was going to make one until I saw that you took your video down about making yours . I’m located in VA .
I use paper work order tickets, gotta get it done on-site cause nobody will sign a blank paper ticket.
Can you do more day in the life videos? Thanks
Hey man, can you do a video of air handler and outdoor unit change out?
Please tell me you pulled the top to check that heat exchanger...??? Those things split like crazy!!
It’s that Klein wonder tool.
Kroil is the best!
Can the dollies size down to maybe hold a condenser unit? I know hand trucks work but to make the package unit dollies more versatile? Just a thought.
I am the same with my paperwork
Paper work sometime sucks. I have a set amount of time per service. Example .5 hrs. for a service not including my drive time or the time to fill out work performed, and if I find a issue I still need to fill out a recommendation repair by that time its pass the .5 hr for that job. Now I running to catch up on time for the next job. 🤦♂️ is this normal for all companies???
Can you have a video on doing float switch and PVC trap
That gas furnace package unit pretty rusty might’ve had a bad heat exchanger
While I am a bit lazy the app the company I work for decided to adopt for all our work is crap. Takes anywhere between 5 to 20 minutes to load a photo into it, you may think I'm joking but I'm not. I've literally put in a photo waited 5 mins gave up and drove to my next appointment and it didn't completely send till part way through that next appointment
I was replacing a motor one time and it slipped out of my hands . The shift hit the only rock around and put the shift out the back of the motor .

How do you like the drawers. Can you do a review. Been wanting to get the Milwaukee drawers
What service app do you use? I use House Call Pro. I really like it. I also send email bills and some use card while I’m there
Hit the road jack
When running a no heat do you make sure the unit is safe to operate and perform a heat exchanger inspection before restoring operation? Only asking because of the amount of corrosion that collector box had on that package unit. I’m sure you do

👍 paper work 🤔 that's why everybody keeps saying I'm a really great friend
Great video join the king cooper family
I'm also really bad at doing paperwork, when it's busy I just want to get all the calls done, than I forget about half of them when I write up the invoices lol.
That coil looked pretty smashed inside the unit
Need the info on that dolly!
Ok how did you not have any wires attached to that fan. Did you reach in from an access panel you removed beforehand?
Never mind I saw the other vid
