Compressiceps vs leleupi

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

It seems that my Altolamprologus compressiceps couple is looking for a nesting place.
The leleupi territory looks like the right spot for them. Of course the leleupi male disagrees with their choice and tries to bring them on other thoughts.
In this video you will see some interaction between these two species.

+Frank Wite Thanks! I only use one LED strip of 92cm, 13 watt and 10.000 Kelvin. Mounted on the front and pointing backwards so the light reflects on their scales as you are watching the fish. This brings the colors out great I think.

The Gold Heads are really looking amazing. Very impressive Male. Is the origin region Kantalamba or Kasanga?

They should be from Mutondwe (island) in Zambia. However, lots of compressiceps variaties exist and in Africa they are not very accurate with finding places. In this case for example, Muzi and Kasanga (in Tanzania) are not far from Mutondwe. About 175 kilometers by car and much less by boat. The "gold heads" which are being labeled as Muzi and Kasanga look very much alike. Fisherman could easily travel upwards from Mutondwe (or Mpulungu as this is the nearest place on main land) or downwards from Muzi or Kasanga, catch the same fish and label it differently.
