Incredible restoration of an old Sthil 08s chainsaw, a model that was very successful due to its low maintenance and good power. I was very happy to give new life to this machine, as I used one of these for several years in my youth. Many thanks to everyone who will watch the video.

That was really interesting to watch, no distracting music or talking too which made the video so relaxing to watch. Amazing finished result! Like night and day 👍
So many great products on the market these days, I really enjoy how restoration enthusiasts can achieve great results. This project is a great example of conversation and restoration. You should be proud of this project.

Aw. Sand blasting is my favorite part. So relaxing. I had a job that all i done was sandblast parts and ro this day was the best job i ever had.

Стара добра 08S. Мој отац је купио једну такву средином 70их. Половну. Била је тешка за руковање али поуздана и издржљива. Касније смо купили нову, познате марке и користили обе, истивремено. Нова се распала после 15так година. Оца више нема од 2013. а 08S се , вероватно, налази у некој остави. Поздрав.
Nice job. You got that saw to start right up and it was totally re-built. I can't even get my miserable Stihl saw to start and it damn near brand new.

I’ve had good luck with my stihls. I have a 088, 881, 661 cm, 201t, 151t CE, 461, a few others… none were ever problematic. Which one are you using

My dad had one just like it. My brother's restored it to its original point and now it works even better than before. My dad was 83yrs years old. I miss him 🇦🇺🙏👍🖐🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺

Perfect Restoration. It's really satisfying to watch.
I am about finish restoration of my father stihl 08 ! 08 is just before the 08s ! The différence is the 08s have chain break on it but that the same saw ! I put a big bore cylinder on it and i ported the cylinder for more power ! When i finish , i make a test and she going on the stand in my garage whit my collection of old saws ! My father past away in 2016 and i am sure he is happy to see is old 08 back in life ! 😊

That is freaking gorgeous! On a safety note, *always* wrap your thumb around the front handle when you're running the saw. Opposing your thumb to the rest of your fingers will prevent the saw from slipping out of your grip and towards you if it ever kicks back. Nice work!
Love it. Makes me want to do they same on a couple old chainsaws out in the shed.
That old chainsaw had all the indications of very little use or rebuild prior to neglect. The chain sprocket had almost no wear as did the teeth on the chain. Also the piston and cylinder bore were very little worn. Almost like it was bought for one job then stuck away for years........... although the handle and trigger say it had quite a bit of use. Anyway you did a marvellous job restoring it and the way it ran made me smile. Well done.

Mr Gamb, eres un verdadero artista, esa motosierra es muy antigua, de echo tiene platinos y condensador, no es electrónica, es de las primeras 08 y quedo como recién salida de fabrica. me llamo la atención el estado del pistón, estaba en muy buenas condiciones. aprendí a trabajar con motosierras con una de esas que tenia mi padre. Felicitaciones y tienes un nuevo suscriptor desde Chile.
Great Restoration except for the rusty chain restoration without any sharpening . Better to replace that then have a weak link break an fly off.

Great restoration, love the peroxide on the plastic, my only concern would be crankshaft and gudgeon pin bearings over the long term, did you fit new?, and i would have fitted a new chain, wouldn't have trusted the rivet pins at links, however that said, well impressed with the resto.
