Very Rusty Lock Restoration. Padlock of the 19th century
Ойын-сауық
Very rusty lock restoration. Padlock of the 19th century. This rusty old padlock was found near an old house. There was a key inside the lock, but that key was from another lock. I decided to restore the padlock. I removed the rust and made a key. Now the padlock works. I hope you liked my restoration.

Dude, poor the cold bluing agent into a separate glass container and dip in that with the acid brush. Going back-and-forth to the main bottle contaminated your source. You would've gotten way better results with it. I've turned steel midnight black with the stuff.

My son was hoping to see the sandblaster , but he was happy when the blowtorch came out . Nice work... a lot of work, but you saved a piece of our past. Thanks.

@@ReXtorer Sorry , we watch a few of theses channels , l always respect the hand work that goes into these projects. I can only begin to imagine what went through your head as you discovered that it was the wrong key! Congratulations on going on and remodelling it to operate correctly. A magnificent restoration all told.

I don’t think the Lock Picking Lawyer could have opened this one. Great video and I’ve never seen so many cleaning/rust removal methods as you employed here. It’s also interesting to see that no lubricant was used on these locks. Thank you for posting

amazing to find that the key wasnt actually made for this lock. someone back in the 1800s mustve tried unlocking it with the wrong key by mistake, found that it got stuck, and tossed it, now hundreds of years later youre here restoring the thing, and making that damn key fit lmao.
The revelation that the key isn't for this lock at all killed me! Nice work! Very cool to see electrolysis in a restoration video.
I understand your passion and curiosity to bring this antique padlock back to life. Your hours of work demonstrate your love for these things and I admire that. Well done sir.

Where are you from
I was fascinated the entire time. I love seeing history restored like this. To think someone spent just as much time making the lock. Working on something for it to just rust away for hundreds of years. Until it was lovingly restored back to what it should be. Great job! Also the key being wrong was fantastic
I absolutely love that you show us the process step by step. No fake sound or cheesy music. Subscribed. ❤
Another excellent restoration! Old locks have always fascinated me, they were surprisingly, more intricate than I had thought.

that’s what I thought too. Didn’t know there were so many moving parts inside.
This made me like old locks way more than modern ones, not only are they cooler looking but they also make very nice locking and unlocking sounds.

Unfortunately they are less resistant to the more modern ways of getting past a lock.
I'm so glad you kept as much of the original lock instead of just replacing it, it looks fantastic. Nice work with the key, I love the pitting from the rust and honestly it adds more character to the lock.

As a registered locksmith of 30yrs this video was very mesmerizing. Great job 👏 we’ve had a couple of these cross our paths at the shop and they are a testament to quality workmanship and functionality
I think this was the most satisfying restoration I've seen you do! Incredible!!!
As a fellow lock enthusiast, I love seeing old crusty locks being restored back into a fully functional lock after countless years sitting around gathering rust and corrosion. Another fine rextored video mate :)

Yeah, i wouldn't doubt that this padlock once locked up an old textile mill on a river, or a local shop, office, or tavern on a cobblestone street. Perhaps the lock to a large chest that contained valuables. Or maybe just a lock on a barn. This guy has a fantastic gift for restoring history, OUR history, and that is marvellous. 👍
Beautiful! From start to finish.I feel inspired… Thank you for this step by step restoration. I was riveted by your work.

Before the Master locks came about. There was these locks. And you most definitely did an excellent job in restoring that 🔐.👍🏾👍🏾
Wow! Kudos for the sheer amount of work & time you put into this
Always amazes me that, no matter how rusty the metal is, it becomes so shiny and beautiful once the rust is removed.

initially i was surprised you didnt sand it all down to smoothness, but then i realised that actually gives it more of a charm, and keeps its sense of oldness & personality :D

I'm glad to see you did not try to make it look brand new by grinding and sanding all the finishes perfectly smooth. I like the way this looks with the pitting sans the rust. Beautiful restoration. Now you just need a strong box to match.

I know you spend any hours on these restorations, but could you give us an idea of the kind of dedication to these projects by telling us about how long you took to finish what you do? Honestly, projects like this seem "impossible", so giving us an idea of your time spent could inspire some of us not to be daunted by the looks of the project. Thanks!
Love it !
Surprisingly this video was very relaxing. Thank you.
This was really satisfying and pretty educational for how much we have advanced since the 19th century I really want to show my teacher this
i must say you did a excellent job getting it functioning again luckily it being sealed up so tightly the inside wasnt completely ruined its to bad that there not much that can be done about all the rust pits
Very Excellent true "restoration" !!! Impressive! You didn't try to improve it by filling all the pitting from rust or painting it, you just made it work again! Bravo!
Looking inside this lock was like looking back in time. When it was finally working again we heard the sounds of the long-gone past :O You did unimaginable things to this lock only forgot to throw it over a bridge :D
Nice video mate ! Keep going ! 👍
