    Hey, glad you asked about that. We need to do a video on just that part so everyone knows how to do it. Make sure you pick a place on your wall directly above the power outlet or below a power outlet in your attic on the floor directly below your attic. You can pick up glow rods at Lowe's or Home Depot but if your a pretty savvy, you can also use a long coat hangar. Funny enough, I cannot find a good video online to explain how to do that part. Let us see if we can get a video done for you on this this week, or at least an explanation of how to get it done. Thank you for asking.

    Why did you use ordinary Wifi network? As i know you shall make specific network for sequrity staff in your router. And could your variant of your Qolsys panel work only with mobile network exactly (i mean without Wifi at all)?

  • @SecurityAllStar

    @SecurityAllStar

    This purpose of this video is only to show people how to set up the WIFI and configure the panel. If you want to set up a private WIFI network that's fine as well. I do not know why anyone would only want to set it up with single path on only cellular but you can set up the panel to work on Cellular only.

    Is adding sensors something I can do on my own? I had a installer come out today to quote the system to me. He said he can use my current sensors but recommend a couple I should get to fully cover. The ones he quoted me we're pretty high priced so after he had left I checked online and found that the sensors door sensors, and smoke and carbon monoxide sensors we're pretty major fractions less than he quoted me. If I bought more sensors myself is it possible for me as a user to add sensors to my system. Also I think I might add another zwave lock down the line. I don't want to have an installer every time to set up something I have experience setting up. Also is this system tied to one camera or doorbell camera brand? He quoted me pretty high for cameras and I think if I bought them myself I could get them at 1/4 the price like the sensors. I understand installers need to make a living too, but charging 50$ for a 14$ sensor and 100$ for a 35$ sensor is a bit extreme. Thanks.

    cody heiser these are great questions. The company that registered your panel has initial control. They can set an installer code that locks you out. Security AllStar does not do that. We provide the installer code and will even remotely or prior to shipping add your devices where it is possible. Most of the time is is possible. Z-wave is the exception. If you need assistance or recommendations you can call Security AllStar at 800-504-1102 x 101 ***NO CONTRACTS

    $50 per sensor is average for most security companies. Yes they're cheaper online but alarm companies don't see it that way. If a technician has to come out to install it, that's wear and tear on a vehicle, the tech probably gets paid for the drive time, that tech is probably wearing a uniform, etc... That's why companies sell you a sensor they get at a heavy discount for $40-$90 and yes I have worked with companies that sell them for $90 each

    @@MrLuis708 try these 2 default codes: 2-2-2-2 or 1-2-3-4. If the icons offer more options than your administrator code then you likely have the default dealer code. If your panel is a branded panel, it is highly unlikely that your panel has the factory default codes. I hope this helps.

    We are helping to eliminate the HUGE markup by the ADT type companies in this world. There will always be a need for properly connecting the customer being monitored with the central station but there is no reason for the consumer to pay ridiculously high prices for equipment and then have 3-5 year contracts.

    So, this is a 14 minute video, cut from the original version, which is longer. Would you prefer a 28 minute video? The amazing thing about youtube is Pause, Play, Pause, Play, Pause, Play, Pause, Play. If you tap the left hand side of the screen, it will rewind 10 seconds. if you tap the right hand side, it will fast forward 10 seconds. This should help.
