I actually appreciated seeing the challenging issue of running the wire below the electrical socket. i find it a difficult part of my security installs too.

Can I use this system outside the US? I was looking to install something like this in my condominium in philippines so I can create and delete door entry codes remotely (from the United Kingdom) for my guests without the need to manually program them on the door unit. Any advice or suggestions welcome. I was looking into this or the Yale Keyless Connected Smart Lock with the Z Wave connector and the samsung smart things hub which might/should be able to do the same thing?

Yes, I'll double check if connectivity is available in the Philippines as we support systems in other countries as well. We have many Bed and Breakfast type companies that use the system for exactly that type of scenario.

Im having consistent trouble with getting Two Way voice to work (from the Qolsys panel to the monitoring station). Im initiating the Two Way voice with the medical panic alarm on the panel itself. I have used a few different methods to get it to finally work, such as powering down for an extended period of time, rebooting the panel, powering down and disconnecting the battery. What can I do different to make it work the first time? And have you come across these issues before?

Raphael Siary you may already do this but we have an SOP for our company. Before taking the panel to the customer site, We get the panel out and immediately do a firmware update. Then we set up everything that can be setup in our offices and test prior to taking the panel on site.

So are we supposed to hide the antenna in the hole? Or shove the antenna in the large cut out? I thought there was an issue with sensors connecting with interference?

@@Mcleanbe123 It works with more Z-wave, Bluetooth and automated devices than any other panel in the US. It also has a Car module (attached to your car anywhere in the US) remote cellular devices anywhere in the US, gives weather alerts and (a feature I hate) works with Nest, Alexa and audio systems. I don't think people should attach to Alexa but it is an option.

@@SecurityAllStar I looked into all of the features, and Nest thermostats, doorbells/camera, and smoke detectors do not work with the Qolsys panel, and from all of the searching for info about using the panel with Samsung Smartthings, it isn't possible. To each his own, but IMHO, the panel/service costs aren't worth the money(especially when the panel box was installed within 5 feet of the thermostat.) I'll stick with my rottweiler and malinois for home security..they're faster than the police anyway :D

  • @SecurityAllStar

@@Mcleanbe123 So I certainly don't mind questions but I do mind misinformation. It only works with Nest thermostats (and it does) because the other Nest items have had some security vulnerabilities. We never said "Smart Things" as a line of products but smart things as in smart devices. What would be the benefits of working with "Smart Things." Your comment about being within 5 feet of the thermostat may need some additional thought you left off. So, we sell this for less than Simiplisafe, Brinks, Vivint, Home Safe, or any other provider in the industry so you made a blind statement, just like the Nest Thermostat comment. I hope your dogs can open the door in case of a fire. Not sure why you are coming off combative. Do you realize that? Are you just against American small businesses who promote guns also? what's the real deal?
