I’m 15 and I’ve always wanted to catch a shark off the beach. I think this video is gonna help me a ton now. Thank you for the tips!
sooo suppa fire 🔥🔥🔥
Casting set ups are the most fun in my opinion. Paddling out is Also fun but it’s more work and more dangerous depending on the conditions.

Bro, awesome tutorial! Thanks for doing this one, any other line to leader options that are reliable outside the knot you suggested)

FG knot is by far the best for tying anything over 60 pound mono to braid. 60 and under you can get away with a double uni knot but it’s bulkier and a little weaker compared to FG.
I'm looking to buy a property in Florida. I took a trip there recently and it's the most beautiful place I've ever been. The people are friendly. The fishing is great. The land is beautiful. I want to retire three. I don't want to die in this god awful state I live in.
In 3 weeks planning on doing a week of shore based shark fishing near Boca/ surrounding areas (With other rigs for dinner). Figured rather than spend my fishing money in one day for offshore again, I'd buy my own gear and try this.

Awesome good luck
Good trick with the rock I would use braid to not leave much plastic behind me

Thanks, and 99% of the time, the rock just slices the line but the knot stays attached at the swivel so I get all the mono back.

Hope your hand gets better soon
What size penn senator do you recommend and is there any maintenance on them or is it just wash them off after fishing and all I have right now is a 6500 reel with 50 lb and an 11ft surf rod should this be fine
@satellitefishing

@@FlyFishingGavin that spinning reel should be ok for 4-6ft sharks. Mines a 6/0 senator spooled with 400yds of 60lb mono. I don’t do any maintenance on it. Just rinse it. It works good for 6-7ft but if you want bigger sharks I’d go with a 9/0 senator
what exact rod do you use for casting setup

This is an older video. Now I’d recommend one of the 12ft heavy Penn surf rods. Either the Squadron, Prevail, or Battalion depending on your budget. They work good. 12ft uglystick works good too.
What rod should I use with spinfisher vi 8500 for kayaking baits out I’m to lame to have a baitcaster 😂❤

That’s a great reel. As for rods, In my experience most 10-12ft heavy rods should work good. I like the ugly stik, and Penn prevail surf rods. I used to have one of the 12ft Ande tournament surf rods, but it broke fighting a shark. Those are a little cheaper than the uglystiks and prevail

@@satellitefishing is there anything that would be lower than 9 foot because I don’t need the length to cast it out I’ll be kayaking it out
@satellitefishing
Жыл бұрын
Ah I didn’t know you didn’t need to cast at all. Yeah, the 9ft version of those surf rods I listed will be way to light for shark fishing. What’s your budget? I know tsunami makes an XH 8’ Carbon Shield rod. Even that, I just don’t now if a 8500 sized reel would really fit. My brother has one and it pairs well with his 6500 slammmer.

@@satellitefishing I don’t know if you know this brand but Vexan makes a 8ft6 xtra xtra heavy rod. I can’t find any reviews on it do you have a opinion about it?

I have another video where I talk about hooks and other tackle in depth, but generally 10/0-13/0 is good for these size sharks
