It's surreal having the ability to watch a soldiers POV of a real war

Not only that but we're not getting this footage 6 months after when they come home from deployment, most of these videos are getting uploaded 20 minutes after it happens. I don't think we've ever had the ability to watch a live war from POV as it happens.

The problem is, most people that watch and comment on these don't seem to... get them. Like actually understand what is happening, or honestly even think as to why the people we are more or less seeing through the eyes of are doing what they are doing. Seeing it isn't enough. If not understood, just seeing it makes people think "they're wasting ammo, they're too disorganized" etc. Those people can then be misled into thinking support should be pulled as the aid that is given is being wasted (in their view).
Lol I was so immersed in this that at around 17:30 when you guys were told to stay down i unconsciously started hunkering in my chair. In all seriousness, this is incredible footage and shows a very different side of the war.

You are barbarians. What is happening now with Ukraine, the situation is similar with the countries affected by the United States. How easy and convenient it is to talk about the struggle for independence and the human sense of justice. Where were these feelings when the United States was pushing its interests militarily in other countries? Funny.
This video taught me why working communication, a chain of command and radio equipment are so very important for a modern army. Fighting in a war is bad enough as it is, but if you are being sent in there without having a plan, not knowing your mission objectives and not being updated about the situation and position of the enemy, then it is impossible to feel confident going out there and your morale will take a hit.
@little_lord_tam

Communication will be the next big game changer. Germany already is implementing digital communication, taplets, mini maps... to their units and regular foot soldiers and the difference is massive. Knowing relatively well whats going on, having knowledge about where your own guys are and instand communication trough the comand chains goes a long way in a succesful combat situation. Holy smokes, this footage really shows how terrifying fighting in the Kherson region can be. The eerie quiet, wide open space with little to no decent cover, along with the sporadic shelling to remind you that it can go from zero to 60 in an instant. I can't imagine the stress of dealing with the lack of communication and organization at the beginning of the war: trying to figure out who's friend or foe, using foreign equipment that you had limited to no experience with, and dealing with a lack of fire support if you had an unexpected encounter. You and those volunteers have balls of steel man.

@@toosmoke4u987 I am from Ukraine, Kyiv, which is far from active war and people near the front line may feel different, but I feel that in general people are staying positive. The civilians have nothing left to control but their own state so everyone tries to maintain their physical and mental health to the best of their ability and being negative is direct opposite of that. At the end of the day if you and your surroudning are alive, fed, have a shelter it was a pretty good day. In times of war we dont need much to be happy hence the positivity. On top of that seeing news of global support, of arms given to our military (which reassures that they give a great fight to "world's second army") and successful actions by the millitary give us a great hope that it is simply impossible to lose in this war and we will liberate our lands. Somehow when the invasion began everyone switched to some mode that just blocks all negativity because it can only lead to despair and noone needs that. And everyone understood that if you see someone who is nervous or have real struggles (and a lot of people stuggled either mental, financial or any else) it is your duty to help them in any way you can. And seeing this acts of kindness also help you reassure that we are strong and in fact stronger than ever, which in turn gives hope and the whole cycle begins again. I trully wish that noone else ever feel this on their own, because it definetely take a tall on you, but it is in this times we feel our honesty, dignity and humanity at their peak. As a russian speaker I understood everything what Ukranians were talking about and I see that all other "foreigners" can not understand, some Ukranians said useful information, so the language barrier is really makes bad situation,since the right information can save the lifes. Even the moment where they were sitting in the car and driver said :" stay inside , we are just waiting for another car" the GoPro man went out of the car, so he could get shot very easy , but he was lucky, and there are a lot of situations like this... @@fd_god6540 Exactly. Well said, my friend.
Back in the first world war the soldiers knew exactly where the enemy was and friendly fire was easily avoidable. In ukraine this is like twin nations fighting, its extremly hard to know where the enemy is and to indentify enemies between friendlies.

I saw a video the other day of an American in a humvee blasting away with a .50 cal hitting the ground ahead of him as they drove (tracers set the grass on fire) and he pulls out a LAW and immediately fires it without an instant of aiming then struggles to put the tube down the hatch into the vehicle. Throw the tube over the side as they aren't reloadable.

@@richardkroll2269 I dont think it would be used in this war that way, but i remember my uncle who was a vietnam vet, say that you have to break the Law tubes or crush them. They have a 124mm diameter tube so they were used as make shift mortar tubes by the Vietnamese against the US. Like I said, likely not how they would be used in this conflict if left on the ground, but a consideration? (Just a guess from prior info)

@@andrewscoggins4747 I agreed with how the entirety of ukraine is fairly hospitable, based on the many videos I've seen of Ru/Ukr forces interacting with the populas (less of Ukr tbh) and how happily they communicated. But to say there's no regime is kinda eh. The current president is a comedian with 0 experience in statecraft he only played president on russian tv. And in 2014 there was a pretty violent uprising and an unconstitutional swap of presidents (too little votes to make it official, but EU/US instantly acknowledged the transfer) Nice example of interaction with civillians kzread.info/dash/bejne/Zn-FuLKmdbGdY9o.html&ab_channel=MaxChronicler - "At the edge of the abyss" incase you don't want to click a youtube link. But like the other people here said, it's the civillians suffering, they just want to be left alone and live their lives. Patrick Lancaster youtuber (biased) who films and follows Ru army has a video where he's in a themepark and interviews people on their views on the war etc. how their experience currently is. Most replies you see is them saying they don't care about what the other people here think they just want to live in peace with them.
