Asturis ep. 47

Asturis was a perfect city. I hope that new series would be same.🎉
next idea, make a city based in Africa. I don’t think I’ve seen a single city skylines series based in Africa. There’s a ton of inspiration you could take from cities like Cape Town, Addis Ababa, Antananarivo, Lagos or Luanda.

Constantine, algiers would also be really interesting because of its verticality. Its built on a mountain. But it would be closer to european cities, which there are plenty of series of

@@tierdropp7544 there are a lot of awesome things you could do with cities in the Maghreb. Especially those crazy cities in Morocco with those all pedestrian urban areas

there was one (i think it was a collab?) from one of the more og popular creators, I think it was Lagos or something. I remeber there were slum workshop assets created specifically for that build. Don't remember if the series cut short or what

nvm, i was remembering half wrong. I was thinking of "Lake Victoria" by Murokmaktu anwyays check it out, I think its a good detailed build, not a big city though. There is one video of a Cape Town and Timemeister also started making a South African build however it didn't get far.
Wow, what a journey. It really didn't feel like two years to me. It's almost like I remember watching the space elevator episode just yesterday and now here we are. Thanks for being with us for all these years.
You know, if the space elevator wasn't there, the city itself doesn't look far futuristic than what many cities look like in Asia today. Especially the levels of public transport, the brightness at night. But I still love the city and I wish I could live there! For the next series I would love if you build a city on the Moon or something. Kind of like how City Wok made his Mars series. Doing a dome city is something that's definitely not being explored fully and I think combining the aesthetics of Asturis with a dome city on the moon would be really cool. Along with some extra stuff like a mining base that isn't in the dome etc.
If Bladerunner was a happy film in a sunny place, it would be set in Asturis. You did magnificent work with this city, and it will always serve me as a favourite virtual vacation spot. Thank you for sharing all this with us, and I really look forward to more tidbits about Asturis, more Altengrad, and whatever other projects you devise. 👏
In regards to making another city with a differently styled core but nothing new for the outskirts, you could always look to have additional aspects of the city specifically to change that. For this instance, perhaps you could have a walled city, the entire thing harshly cutting off at a large fortification and perhaps there being either a radically different landscape outside of it or smaller, ramshackle buildings up against the outside of the wall but nothing substantial. Or a city on cliffs, built straight up like a downtown district the whole way through because there's just no more space horizontally, with occasional buildings partly out over the edge and anchored into the edge of the cliff face. Stuff like that could allow for more creativity alongside giving the option to further use the futuristic theme to make more regularly-styled but still unique builds in the other areas of it. The 'superdense mountain village' concept definitely has a lot of potential too, as you could cover any oddities spawned by the terrain height with even more buildings, giving the impression that the mountain is entirely hollowed out and filled with even more. It really does feel like the Asturis videos both haven't been around for long, and have been around forever. Either way it's both wonderful to see it complete, the puzzle finally coming together like you said; and sad to see it go, but we've still got the beautiful completed piece to admire even though it's no longer expanding.

I would love to see a dystopian walled city build with lush greenery and modern buildings on the inside while the outside is barren wastelands with slums, or something to that effect. Would definitely also help make the “suburbs” more unique than they otherwise would be
Stuning!!! The high density+steep terrain should have chongqing as a big influence, in case you actually want to experiment with this theme!
I would love to see a transit overview, or at least a map of the current lines. Maybe at the end of the before-and-after supercut, or one of the tram POVs
5:13 this shot looks so good with the light catching the metal roofs
8:43 the most badass thing I've ever seen built in this game. wow.

When you think about that this thing even actually works, you only get closer to appreciating what this man has done. Hes crazy good.
I really hope you'll do a Public Transport Overview episode for Asturis!
I loved the Asturis series, this video should have way more views. I was always watching the new episodes the day they released. Really nice to see the completed city now.
I was really a big fan of Asturis. I discovered your great cities skylines content in the space elevator epsiode, and I anticipated every new series. I love Altengrad but I have always liked futuristic cities more. Thank you!
What I like about this map, is that it has sort of the same scale ratio similar to those video game city maps. Everything highly detailed in a size just right, not too much repetitive urban sprawl.🚝
your high density rocky city sounds a lot like hong kong. i mean i'd watch, and there is a lot of assets for that on the workshop (or chongqing, they are also very vertical)
I was heavily inspired by your work and attempted an extremely vertical futuristic build myself. Unfortunately the save has died for now, but I have some record on instagram and a short skytram ride. Wouldn't it be great to have a mod that would allow us just to zoom around C:S builds without having to load the full game. Can't wait for the next concept!
Such a shame its all coming to an end. Such a good series. Cant wait for more❤
the thing you were talking about how you can make like little panoramas etc. high detailed to save on performance. i think you should explore like super compact super dense builds a bit like citywokcitywall did with his mars project.
16:10 It's a very colourful city ! Nice work on Asturis !
It’s unfortunate that Asturis has to end early compared to Aurelia. I really love how you design futuristic cities and I look forward to seeing your future projects. 🙂
I once saw someone build a futuristic city with flying cars (basically invisible roads). Would be really cool to see you do that. Like a Fifth Element/Coruscant type city with lots of supertalls and different elevations taken to the extreme.
Still on this series: what about an old city? Far twards the edge of the map, we could have a town as old as 5000 years where old and futuristic meet in the most iconic way. It would be kinda like some sort of touristic attraction where you go to experience what life was like back then. Also, castle up on the mountain, some mansions, and more suburbs
Id love a series on a city on a non earth like planet (maybe venus, moon)

You should check out the MARS series by Citywokcitywall. It's my favorite cities skylines series. The story and visuals are so captivating :)
This has been an amazing journey! Thank you so much for taking us along 🙂
Absolutely amazing! i followed from day 1 and to watch it grow was crazy....Best city builder out there, you have the mindset of an engineer.
Id really love to see a Mars colony series, a futuristic city just on the Mars. You could build big domes with artificial tropical terrain inside, and outside maybe a big industrial area with flying cars and trucks. I think it would be amazing and it would be better than doing a 3rd "simple" futuristic city series.
Amazing! Really enjoyed the construction of this city. Love the vibrant colors
Amazing to see it all come together after all this time. Well done!
Great series! Thank you so much. Was a blast! Looking forward to a new „future“ city
Also really looking forward to the transit overview.
I love this so much, I hope we get some walking tours/cinematics along with the trams before moving on
Just an idea (maybe for a future project): "The Line". I imagine u've heard about the project. Maybe it would be fun to explore your own ideas on how the inside of the city could look like. Would probably have a lot of verticality as well ;)
well done! Really beautiful build and a nice journey!
A maze ing :o Fantastic piece of work. How about some first person walkabouts from the different layers (IE: I love the layers you get, some of which you cant' even see)
Great work! Keep it up!
You could consider doing a mini series or smaller unconnected builds all focused around a train line or transport system
Great vid!
Just stunning
I neeeeed a first person tram ride for the beachfront tram that would be so cool
your style just what i expectation in SimCity 5
you disappointed me without a single close up shot given the amount of details you put in.. I was expecting it and never got it, I'm watching it on phone would and loved some close up shots.
amazing!!
Great showcase! Do a walking tour next please. Thanks
I believe planning too much of a City ahead can make it look unnatural, creating individual projects and developing new plans creates a much more "grown" look like a real city
This is a masterpiece.
A true MASTERPIECE !
This city is just stunning❤
Its been a great journey. Thanks for all the amazing videos. :)
definitely the best city ever built on this game by anyone, period.
Masterpiece
Do an American future-y theme :0 Like Cleveland in Halo lmao
We need more Midwestern rustbelt!! :3
maybe you could take back the mini project of the atlantic road, i realy enjoy that and a series it would be nice to see., if still you have the savegame and the mods are fine. Or also a diarama like that it is fine by me
I would buy a realistic transit map of Asturis immediately!
its so beautiful
What about building a futuristic village... Like a HUUGE city but with low density, a luxury place for the rich to live in the suburban sprawl. The thing can even look like few cities merged together
As a heavy user of PO like yourself, I’d find playing cs2 pretty restrictive without it. I might wait until that mod is available (if ever, I hope it will be).
Asturis is beautiful ❤️
brb, crying rn
Could you make the public transport map of Asturis ?
Which video on your Chanel shows your current lighting and color settings for this series and video?
This city better fit wonderful light future word of book of Kyr Bulychov than the vievs, that was shown in soviet and today films based on his books
I rly wanna see your attempt at a dystopian sci fi city, i would also love something more american, art deco
🔥🤩💙
Pls make a video where you link Asturis and aurelia in the same map. Pls tell me you can
Can you show a link of how to make or find the flying train
Maybe do a space plane port? :)
@dragonbornexpress5650

He did that in Aurelia; It was both a regular airport as well as a spaceport.
👍
are u going to upload it to steam workshop?
Sad but happy i guess :s❤
What fps are you running this save at?
how can we get the savefile of this beautiful asturis?
By the way.. Is it possible for the new city's name to start not with "A"? :)
Can you please make a city based on the 1927 movie called Metropolis?
👍🏿👍🏻💛
You should make this an map can you do that

Unreealistic for it's size
