Is that a true statement? Yeah, there's a problem here alright. There is an objective truth, to what extent Eren and his friends are able to uncover and confirm that is the question. It will probably lie in unlocking all the titan memories from the founding titan or all of them, if they are ever combined in a single person again.

@@MikeTall88 same with Doffy in one piece. In that scene, pirates and Marines are having a war. He asked if pirates are automatically the evil and Marines are the good ones. He then answered his own question saying winners can change the meaning of evil. Kids who never seen peace and kids who never seen war have different view of Justice. But at the end of the day, the winners will be the Justice. That's why up until now, I've seen government more of a big organization rather than people who'll bring Justice.

I think the whole point of the story is that all of these versions are true to some extent, and that there exists no true heros or villains. Everyone commits atrocities with reasonable justification from their perspective. We are all victims of our circumstances and upbringing. The "villains" during the current arc have just been humanized to the point where we're not supposed to want anybody to lose or die, protagonists or otherwise. That's why the story works so well as a tragedy, because in the real world, no side is just born evil.

He didn't reveal the story in its entirety. The real story will be revealed by Isayama in a flashback of Ymir (the progenitor of the Founding Titan). How did she get the ability itself and what how the inheritors after her could have used or misused the Titan Powers to hurt others. Ymir must have predicted this, and spend the rest of her life to find a cure, as the Owl stated "the curse of Ymir" but Fail. Marley, Eldia, The Owl, Willy the Tybur Family as some speculation of the history though they may some truth in them. Grisha's and the Owl background gave us a middle ground of what the history was. (Marley made up a story of what happened as a form of propaganda for their own evil means). Willy gives more information on the story regarding King Fritz and the Made up hero "Helios". In my opinion, The Owl, Eren kruger's info on that history make more sense. Let's wait for The author's story to move forward and we the readers will decide.

long story short: a chick named Ymir obtained and spread the titan powers among Eldians, but everyone started fighting among themselves for power, so the king of the Eldians (Fritz) decided to hide on Paradis island among walls made out of titans to end all the conflict. He brainwashed his own people into thinking they were the only humans on Earth, and threatened the other nations to never disturbe their peace or else he would release the titans, using his founding titan power. But the Marlean nation still hated them from the war and sent titans there (former humans) in order to devour their people, and this is how Attack on titan begun. Now that Eren and the gang (the Eldians) found out that all the titan attacks were caused by the Marleans, they're fighting a war, to know how it goes read the manga lol. I hope this summary was helpful

I feel like every virsion is true to some extent. Everyone is just telling the story in a way that makes them look like the good guys. My theory is that the real history is just a combination of all the told stories or it could just be a bunch of misleading stories leading to a complete plot twist 😂

I think the most realistic course was that the Eldians unified under Ymir and allied with other peoples to fight against the Marley Empire. After overthrowing them, life improved to a degree but then the Eldians became complacent. The 145th King decided to move the capital to Paradis Island, maybe to establish a secondary base (I don't know), when the Marleyans attacked. Having lost the homeland, the King fortified his base and basically said you win but don't try anything with us. That's the one that makes the most sense to me but I'm not the one writing the story.

I thing Willy Taybur's version is completely correct. It tottaly clears up why the King of the Walls erased the memories of his people and did nothing when the 4 warriors attacked the Island. But what has me convinced is this: The Marley version made Eldians look like devils, the Grisha version made them look like angels; Both were biased but Willy's version had none. It wasn't a bashing nor favoring Marleyans or Eldians, just a detailed explanation of what happened and how it ties in with current events regarding Eren being able to potentially trigger the Earth-Leveling attack..

The reason why the Titans didnt rumble the earth after the 4 warriors were attacked is probably because Eren is not of Royal Blood and couldnt access the memories of King Fritz Will or the power to unleash the titans on to the world. Eren didnt even know those titans who infiltrated the walls were human titan shifters before.

Seth Gonzales When the four warriors attacked, Eren didn’t have the Founding Titan. Freida Reiss possessed the Founding Titan at the time, but Eren’s dad, Grisha Yeager, ate Frieda to steal the power from the Reiss/Fritz Family. Once Grisha found Eren, Grisha took him to the forest, and injected him with titan serum. Which caused Eren to transform, he then ate his father, and inherited his fathers abilities.

All of the stories probably have aspects of them that are right. Willy is a liar though. If the king fritz was sworn to pacifism, than why did willy allow marley to send 4 warriors to retrieve the founding titan, even though at the time the founding titan was still under royal family control. Did willy know all along that grisha would be able to aquire the founding titan? Or was he scared enough by the threat of grisha that he saw no other choice?

Exactly, and still, even if Willy was indifferent of Marley's military endevours up until recently, the Tybur being the ruler of Marley makes them responsible for the consequence of Marley's actions. The story just doesn't make sense at this point - Willy could be trying to mislead the world to shine the spotlight away from Marley's militaristic ambitions. This also implies that the Tybur allowed Marley to believe in a false tale, which makes them even more responsible. Also, wasn't Marley at war with a lot of nations? How is there no animosity towards Marley itself from around the world?

I think Ymir Fritz discovered how to control inorganic substance, hence the Titans. But it had a side effect, it shortened thier lifespan significantly since it uses lifeforce as a fuel hence, the 13yrs lifespan.

Well, the shortened lifespan is because somehow Ymir was killed 13 yrs after she got her power. It didn't say how, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't like aging or a side effect. The x on her neck in the manga suggests that someone found the nape/ or beheaded her and so the others who received the titan shifters are cursed/doomed to die after 13 years.

What Attack on Titan did brilliantly in my eyes was they made a story and they made sure they got it wrong the first time, not saying that it was a mistake on their par, they did it beautifully, making the Titans seem like a natural occurrence to plague the world And using that as the spring board to hop into all this amazing lore

That’s what war is. As a German citizen with ancestor from WW2 and from Vietnam... I experience both sides of war through my grandparents. My grandpa from father sides was a fellow soldier during WW2 and he was 16 at the time... he said that everyone was kinda just living there lives under the propaganda of Hitler that time. No ones of course thought of the dark side of it. And only with the time going on the people felt the shame and the realization of their war crime. But to me he was a nice grandpa who was also got capture in Russia. My grandfather from mother side was also in war. Vietnam war. He suffered under the Army and the post war situation was hell for my mother. Some of their neighbors suffered under agent orange generation after the war. But even after that, he won’t tell me to hate the American even if they did bad things.... I am a offspring from both the “evil and the victims” but both was just suffered under the war and I’ve learnt that war doesn’t have a “true winner”. And every good can be evil to the others.... I’m sorry my English is bad but I hope you got my point. That why I love AOT so much because it has such a depths in it.

I think it's fairly obvious that Grishas version is the most likely to be false as his version has almost zero credibility. I think King Fritz pacifistic version makes the most sense considering their vast and immense power. They have always had the power to crush any nation at any time regardless of how weakened they had become from infighting. So the Eldian guilt, shame, quest for peace, and resulting isolation obviously had to be entirely voluntary. I'm fairly sure the Marleyan version may be somewhat exaggerated but has most of the base truth in it. And Tyburs story probably clears up some of that exaggeration from both Eldia and Marley BUT may still be adding some of their own Tybur flavor of exaggeration.... But for Willie Tybur to be lying really doesn't make any sense. It has to be mostly altruistic and truth because much of his explanation is damning to the Marleyan and Tybur reputation....

I love how there is basically no right or wrong side, it's so fascinating I wish more stories had this sort of thought put into it

She was probably a scientist biologist etc but do to the time frame at the time it was considered witch craft and so it spread rumors of her dealing with the devil etc

SPOILER . . . . . . Actually she was just a child slave of the Eldian tribe (not even an Eldian herself) who accidentally discovered some sort of organism that she merged with, turning into a titan. After working for the Eldian king and defeating the Marleyans with her titan power, she was basically raped as a "reward". (Yes, the king actually called this a "reward".) She birthed three children, but died sacrificing herself for the king after an attack. Her three children then were forced to literally eat her corpse, so that they may inherit the power of the titans. She basically lived her entire life as a slave to the Eldian king.

Besides speaking about Attack on Titan, that probably happened in real life during the "Mediaeval" period when we were burning so called "Witches" and such.

I don't think we've heard the true story yet, and I'm positive we won't know what really happened until Eren tells us since he holds the founding titan. One thing I am sure of though, is that this anime is going to turn into an allegory for WW2, with the Eldians representing the Jews and the Marley's representing the Nazis. Maybe the Tybur family is the US or the Soviets. The latter makes sense if the Tybur family has Eldian lineage, but this might all be a lie too. Going back to the actual anime, I think it's a lie that only Eldians are able to turn into titans, and in reality, every human has that ability. I'm sure fooling the entire world into thinking only those with Eldian blood can turn into titans works as propaganda for the Marleys against the Eldians, and also for the Tybur family to make themselves seem more important than they really are.

Foxen Anime Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if the direction he took with the anime changed after a few recent events. He changed the idea he had for an ending to the series because of how much fans loved the characters, so I would definitely understand Isayama doing the same with the state of the world.

Paradise Island is also linked to Atlantis. Consisting of 3 rings and the existence of titans. Oh and its not about Germany or the Jews. Its linked to how the Western empires have a same way of influencing our worlds history and how we see people from outside 'our walls' as threats that look like titans but in all reality are the same people as we are.

I’m still confused, all I remember was a kid wanting to see the Ocean.

I think it does not matter which one is right but I would go with willy's version minus the part with eren as the bad guy also I'm waiting to see what eren does now

Damn. This is a lot to take in. If I were to speculate as to which story is true, I'd be wrong. It's best to wait for the manga to tell us what's genuine.

So the Eldians abused the power over threw Marley and ran out of people to kill so they killed each other. The Marlians took advantage and reversed the rolls and turned the Eldians into titans to kill the Eldians. Correct me if I'm wrong

welcome! 😄 Before the info came up about Helos being makeup, alot people thought he was an Ackerman & I think that idea seemed interesting. Now it seems that perhaps he may have existed but really wasn't this almighty titan slayer that he was made up to be, but he could still have been an Ackerman 🤔

I like the idea that it is a future setting, Ymir was some kind of bio-engineer creating the solar powered titans as some kind of exosuit construction gear, and everything went to hell after. At this point everything has fallen to a neomysticism.

Quite a lot of theories about the true history of The Great Titan War, slightly confusing, but thankfully your video cleared it up for me, haha. (Also almost at chapter 100, we're getting much closer to the end).

Attack on titan lore history could easily be as deep and fleshed out as the game of throne books. Theres like over 120 eldian kings to explore

I wonder if Ymir (from the Survey Corps) knew the old/ancient language. Remember how surprised Reiner was that she knew what what the old can they found in Utgard (?) castle?

I don't know the history but this is what future I want. Collect all the Titans powers on paradise Island and die. This might change all Titans back into humans. And noone gonna be able to turn back into Titan. Titan power should be gone for good.

AHHH You helped everyone!!! I've got a hunch that Annie is going to be freed next installment. Eren was succesfully able to break through the Warhammer's crystal with the help of the Jaws titan. Although, the Jaws titan got away. I think they're going to work on getting the Jaws titan or something.
