I love your attention to detail, I wish I was as focused! I tend to spend 1/4 the amount of time planning as I should and then am shocked when it doesn't work out! You'd think I would learn, but I don't.... Anyway, keep up the great videos!

Push an old rubber sneaker sole into your running belt sander. It'll clean up the abrasive and extend the life of your belts and discs!

Nice desk set. Two points: 1. When sanding oily woods, like lignum vitae, bocote, ebony, etc, try using a sanding disc cleaner on your belts and discs, and they will last a lot longer. 2. For more aggressive cutting with your skew. try moving your tool rest closer to your work so you can tip the skew more vertical and it will cut those hard woods better. Nice finish work, BTW.

Excuse my language, but holy shit! I enjoyed watching this video very much. To be honest, I wasn't sure what you were making til nearly the end. I know it says pen in the title, but I'm like there's no way haha. Beautiful work and great camera angles. Cannot wait to see what other pieces you'll be making.

What an exquisite looking desk ensemble! I would love to adopt some of your ideas however I am having trouble following your directions due to my hearing disability, (stone deaf). I realize this is my problem however would you mind adding CC to your videos. I would sincerely appreciate it. Thank you so much for sharing your ideas and techniques!!

Marrakka Q thank you. I looked before for a mechanical clock an inch in diameter and couldn’t find any. I looked before for steam punk style desk sets. I’ve also been told that quartz clock are more accurate, but I’m not totally sold on that. Lol thanks for watching.

How did you fasten the clock in the stand?

Hello, I made a hard maple wooden dowel that is glued to the clock base. The dowel sticking out tightly fits into a hole on the stand, which allows the clock to come apart for shipping and swivel for left or right handed people. Thanks for watching.
Well done! I can see right off that you are holding yer tongue wrong when gluing wedges. You should tuck it slightly inside the lower lip (giving the appearance much like that of smokeless tobacco) before gently biting down on the tip. And of course the side matters as well, right-handers poke the left side while left-handers poke the right... Still, this did not prevent you from creating a piece that would proudly display on any desk, thanx for the video.

I have some scraps of various angles that I hot glue to the work pieces to form as close to 90 degrees as I can and clamp. A 90 degree jig also helps and cuts down on the # of scraps. Hope this helps...sometimes my brain doesn't work (left and right fight a lot) so why I didn't answer yer question earlier- It just suddenly came to me! Luck and health.

Why does there always have to be irritating noise in the background. I personally would prefer silence during video when video maker is not talking

Not entertaining at all. Besides, shop noise is going on all the time, and it’s free to you. You could always use the volume button.
