Key thing to understand is this teams are over a 100 years old and they were all community teams, they grew out of their local community.

Well, to a certain point, it is normal. Passion lets football thrive. But from time to time, especially in already normally more passionate countries, the passion overboards. But normally, its a nice atmosphere, where you can even go to with your kids, because thats, where we once had our 1rst stadium experience. Even though in Serbia, Turkey or Italy, there are games to which you cant take your kids. All in all, its not like an american football family experience, where its about the whole programm.

the second europe clip is from Cologne in Germany and they chant roughly "whatever happens the red wall is behind you" and "giving my whole life for the club" and I always get goosebumps when I hear their chants. Love from Germany, love seeing football getting a more popular sport in the US too! Btw I am from Dresden and Dynamo Dresden is my club. We are battling top of 3rd league, bottom of second league, but we have one of the strongest ultra community of any german clubs

The Football season in Europe is from August to May and in most countries besides England there is a Winter break from almost a month between the end of december to the end of january so its only a few weeks where its really cold

There called seats. English stadiums have to be all seater now after the Hillsborough disaster in 1989, 96 or 97 people lost there lives due to a crush. Some Clubs are working towards rail seating, like Dortmund and Celtic they have it i believe but terracing like before will never return.

I’ve got no love for Thatcher, but it was never a north-south divide like the northerners like to pretend. I was born and brought up in East London, I saw on on the TV growing up how rich the people in the south were and how poor they were. I lived in a concrete jungle of flats who’s main clam to fame was blowing up, surrounded by motorways and derelict docks. Most people in 1986 in the east end didn’t own a car and no one owned a house. It was when I started following my team away, I first went to Liverpool in 1987 and I was waiting for all this depravity and deprivation. There were concrete jungles but there were nice houses, and each house had a car and there were loads of houses with for sale or sold signs, this repeated it’s Manchester, Leeds and other places, I lived in an area in a worse condition than them, we still had land thats had bomb craters on it. Under Thatcher 7 of the 10 poorest boroughs were in the southeast of England under Labour 9 of 10 were in the north. Yet according to them Thatcher was the Devil

I dont know or care about North and South divide, but 1 in 5 people in Liverpool at the time had jobs. Scousers had to leave there City to find work. Thatcher also killed the mines sold off everything making it all private. She took any assetts people in the North had, took all power from the unions and basically stripped it bare and gave or put nothing back in return. You will only find people who have money with any love for thatcher anybody working class will despise her. I imagine thats part of why Liverpool fans are happy about her death.
