Actually, it will be cheaper per unit when you buy in bulk. On top of that, the amount she getting, she can get from distributor directly and using distributor price and nego for discount and stuff. So overall, she actually getting cheaper and she used all of it means there is no wastage.

The difference is that, my skills are not in her level, a slow learner and I cannot be as generous as her in cooking but I love to cook multiple dishes at once.. Yep, my dad is the same. He always makes too much food and freezes the rest/leftovers. Then he asks what he should cook, I tell him to eat what's left in the freezer and he always just brushes me off. I swear I haven't seen the back of our freezer since the day it set foot in our house
