This is the only video that actually enabled me to match names from two lists in a way that is easy to understand-thankyou. Is it true that to do this with v-lookup, if I have a spreadsheet without a common identifier (such as staff number) that I'm unable to do the match? I had two staff lists- one with unique identifiers, and one without.

Thank you for all your videos. You are a great trainer. Please how can I Compare two lists A and B in different workbooks? List A is the standard. If there are differences in List B, we copy the correct value from A to list B.

Bring both of them into a third workbook using query/connection. (This will allow them to update by themselves if the content of either of those 2 workbooks updates). Then compare them using the method shared in the video. That's all. (Tip : Tables with specific names can be accessed anywhere through the workbook, doesn't need to be in the same worksheet.) P.S. : not sure if all this works in older versions of Excel, but sure about 365.

If list two had as an example, Andy (Name). How would I set my formula up so I tell excel to use contains Andy because if I am using 0 to return exact value it shows N/A

XMATCH automatically defaults to 0-Exact Match. So there is no need to type the ,0 in the formula when looking for an exact match.
