Good archers can turn an entire match around. I think most people have trouble explaining that getting dealt 70-110dmg with no counterplay is frustrating in a game centered around being able to fight and win insane odds with enough skill. Shields aint a counterplay unless its a 1 on 1. All that being said I really dont mind them and it'd be hard to justify a medieval war game without including some kind of archery. Great video!

On the contrary, I think it's hard to justify a medieval war game featuring arena maps including archer types. Did u ever hear about jousts or battles in arenas allowing archers to also compete? Don't think so... But I totally agree with you regarding those team objective maps - even if it pains me to say so ;)

It's a team game in the end, that's like saying AWPs in CS have no counterplay. They do, work as a team and take down the archers.

Awesome job at the editing, need to give respect where it's due, your melee and shooting skills are awesome. People get frustrated more at the noobie archers, who contribute almost nothing to the battlefield, except shooting teammates in the back, also got to note, that after the latest patch, the heat seeking arrows became very annoying, I get killed way more often, can't even dodge it because they magically curve to you, I don't see you use aim assist, so great job, though I can only play platformers and metroidvanias on the controller.

Thanks bro, I'm playing on PS5 with a controller so there's definitely aim assist but I've been using the bow since Chivalry 1 on PS4 so I've developed the right muscle memory to be deadly 🙏

A wise man once said "Always play to the range of your weapon". This advice has served me well over the years, sometimes it must be said though that getting stuck straight in is what they least expect especially if you know how to defend yourself. Many pants are shat when that archer pulls his dagger and runs headfirst into chaos 🤣

I find it funny the game gives you the option to say “Kill the archers!” I love the voice lines in this game. I respect the really good archers but I think the general player base equally despised them 😆 anyways, great video, have an awesome day man!

Затем я снова стал играть на лучнике именно после твоих видео и мне порой доставляет особый кайф уничтожать соперников стрелой и мечом, а не просто мечом. I find Archer in Chivalry is either 2 types of people, 1)new players who are terrible at mele or 2) seasoned players who have mastered every other class, shoot arrows accurately into objectives and win mele fights against the people who sneak up on archers.

@@krazyking3607 it is true, the Benioff brothers had signed off to do Star Wars and as a result phoned in the last season seemingly forgetting the entire narrative of certain characters in the process. The books weren't finished so they effectively wrote their own ending and it just didn't fulfil the promise and potential of the show. It was still an amazing spectacle from beginning to end though and last seasons story mishaps aside the journey getting there across the earlier seasons is some of the finest television put to film ✌️

It's literally the last season where things get a bit strange but by then you'll be so invested in the characters you'll likely want to see how it concludes. Best just start with season one and go from there, stop watching if its not your bag but it really is stellar!

Best way to put it, because it's the same for any game with the classes. Melee troops can't stand being killed by archers or skirmishers. ESPECIALLY in a melee.

I've been playing Chivalry 2 for 2+ years since the closed beta so that's a lot of bow practice 😅 Not to mention I was a player of Chivalry 1 on PS4 and that was way harder using bows so I've evolved with it and developed the correct muscle memory over time to consistently hit shots. I encourage you to check out my other bow vids if you're new to the channel, got some of the finest archery content you'll find on YT 🙏

The way i look at it, i just want to sword fight sometimes. Its a little frustrating cause there are a lot of shooter games out there and its like, you gotta come into my swordfighting game and shoot from range? That makes you feel like youre good? But like someone else said, any medieval game surely would have them, and i understand why they're there.

The same could be said for snipers In shooting games as you put it. Killing you from range when you're not even aware he's there, archers are integral to the game just as snipers are to military games. It can be frustrating as you put it when you're trying to enjoy a close quarters fight but I personally find it just as annoying getting repeatedly killed/team killed by catapults. I don't hear anyone asking for them to get cut from the game its all just opinions. The fact is its medieval, adapt or go play something you feel safer in 🤷

No hate for someone just because they play a class. One of my friends on xbox is a great archer player, ReachThePeak is his name and NA players probably know and fear it. I just dont respect archer players who cant handle the fact that their class has innate advantages. I just want some acknowledgement that bullet magnetism exists and being postioned right by a spawn wave makes you untouchable. Like no ones saying youre trash or that youre carried or whatnot. This applies to pretty much any game that has an OP character or strategy or whatever. Awesome video btw i respect the editing skills and the insane longshots.

Cheers bro I appreciate that. I agree with you about archers, of course there is aim assist and some advantages but those same advantages can be applied to other classes and weapons. Add hardware into that equation with pc players steamrolling console players who play at half the frame rate and no button mapping and you've got a far from balanced experience. Archers have there place and there is a skill gap to it as you said your friend is a stand out archer meaning there is skill in the art of the bow not just magnetism. I've been spawn killed more by Dane axe weilding pc players than I have archers but that doesn't mean we should ban the Dane axe. It's the behaviour of the individual that must come into question, unfortunately some people will always take the easy option even if it means ruining the game experience for others.

I love those moments as an archer where you get like 3 very angry opponents after you, manage to kill them and follow up with a cheeky tbag to enrage them even more. I feel like they tend to underestimate you especially when they have numbers, and often underestimate the speed of your weapon.

Archers play to the range of their weapon, some see it as cowardly its just tactical. I see vanguards spamming fire pots into groups and doorways even if their team mates are in the line of fire.. now that's cowardly.

In your clips you show exactly why archers are universally hated by allies and enemies: Yes you do damage from afar and take some enemies (damaging allies in the process) down, but in most cases archers hide away from the objective, making it pretty difficult to capture or finish the objective outnumbered. In addition, I don't mind archers who already mastered melee combat and in general have experience with feinting, parry etc. But in most cases archers are played by low levels who do not get kills otherwise, because they have no experience whatsoever in melee combat - playing archer grants them a few kills and lvl ups, but they don't learn anything about the game's core mechanics. And also the ridiculous "magnetic" arrows if u play against consoleros...

Low level players should not be feared regardless of their chosen weapon. Using a bow is no less egregious than being forced into lobbies with pc players who play at more than double our frame rates, have significant advantage in control and swing manipulation yet still mostly only play in 3rd person with their friends in roaming parties using strictly meta loadouts. Yet its archers who are causing imbalances? I think not. But that's just my take.

@@WolfBornePlays I don't fear them or think they cause imbalances - I just think it's not wise to be able to play as an archer this early in a game mostly designed for melee combat. This leads to frustration on both sides - the new players not getting any better in melee and the experienced players in having to deal with a ***load of lowlvl archers mostly tking or damaging allies.

People like to cry aim assist, but as a console player, I feel like the aim assist is more a hinderance. I might just need to play more and learn it, but it drags so much on people I’m not targeting, and messes me up, and it feels very very janky in general. I might turn it off and play without it for a while and see how it goes.

Precisely bro, it's all too easy when you're not a console player to see archery and cry aim assist but to actually be consistently successful with the bow is not easy. The aim assist is wonky, the hit detection is inconsistent, there's input lag, general lag and we're playing against pc players running around at more than double our frame rates.. we can't even get button mapping. But they still all cry aim assist 🥱

I couldn't use the music I wanted to, I had to recut it several times to avoid copyright. Some of the music in the video is actually from the game 🤷 But I appreciate the feedback bro, got a boat load of Chivalry content on the channel and I've deliberately tried to have a unique soundtrack for every single video, sometimes I miss the mark for people. But there's always a next time 🙏

😂 Somebody has insecurities. My statements are that of the class in general, any long time Chivalry player understands this! But I can see you're insecure so you take it all on a personal level because you feel threatened by the content. If this is how you feel towards decent archer gameplay why do you even sit and spend time watching and commenting? 🤔 Another sign of underlying issues bro, now that's kinda sad.

I absolutely hate archers! They are the worst! An archer shouldn't be able to kill a noble knight before he gets to him. Speaking seriously the game is pretty balanced when it comes to archers. Probably even favors a sword user. A lot of matches I don't get a single death from an archer. Most deaths come from overextending into enemy territory while chasing an archer. Farming points is also easier with a knight or vanguard. However hating archers is too funny of a meme to neglect.

Bro it looks like youre using aim assist though. Can tell because there are def some shots youve missed but they still hit. Aim assist for this game is broken to the point that arrows can hit people behind walls like heat seeking missles lol

Of course there's aim assist I'm on console 🤷 it is what it is. Chivalry hit detection and ballistics are far from perfect this is no secret its just another fun archery video to add to my collection. Hilarious how many people turn up just to say "aim assist" 🤣 If its all aim assist why do half the archers out there miss most of their shots and are ridiculed ax a result 🤔 There's still a skill in timing, positioning, leading shots, map awareness, threat awareness etc when using the archer class otherwise every archer in the game would be demons. #skillgap

You don't just have aimbot, you have a silent aimbot which does most of the work when it comes to hitting your targets. Play on PC then if you want the real Chivalry experience or continue making these videos, just don't pretend like this is all you.

I play on console always have, played legitimately for over 30 years I don't even know what a silent aimbot is I'm not versed in cheat software because I play on console and don't cheat. Ofcourse, I play on PS5 on a standard controller. However you can see I miss some easy shots too so there's definitely a skill involved otherwise every archer in Chivalry would play like this 🤷 posted a small vid on the channel a week or so ago detailing all my settings etc if you're really curious.

@@MrCdog85 Nobody wants Volley because it's a weak game mode executed poorly on the wrong maps. Just because having an all archer game mode that sucks doesn't mean they're not vital to the experience of the rest of the game. It's medieval times and there's knights running around throwing firepots everywhere but god forbid there's any archers to upset anyone 🥱 The only people who truly want archers removed are weaker players who cannot adapt or counter the strengths of the bow, they do not enjoy playing that class so they'd prefer it if no one did. It's basic and it's pretty sad, this game ain't balanced bro archers are not the prevalent issue impacting the majority of players enjoyment and experience. ✌️

@GoGodman Fair point bro my apologies I'm just tired of the archer hate, I've had 3 years of it everytime I post an archery video. I only continue to do them because they generate a lot of traffic for me. My videos are all about cinematic narratives and poking fun at the hatred archer players get, I post way more melee videos. The real irony of it all is despite folk despising archers all over they certainly spend a lot of time on KZread watching archery content 🤔

The only skilled parts were when you pulled out a sword, otherwise you just blindly fired into crowds and shot people point blank lol plus it's not exactly hard when the PS5 aims for you haha

@@kurai7497 I was never disputing console versions have aim assist that's obvious to anyone, it's how you use it with positioning, timing, map awareness etc that changes things. So many pc players see a few minutes of console archery and immediately display their insecurity, I make videos for fun yet most of the pc players who leave comments always go back to aim assist rather than just enjoying the video narrative. It's really quite embarrassing given the sheer advantages pc players have in their version of the game that you guys dare to throw "aim assist" at us. Most of you are playing at TWICE the framerate with countless advantages in control, behave yourself. You've seen a few clips of aim assist at it's worst with stupid magnetism but on average it's not as strong as you all make out yheres countless hours of footage out there of arrows whiffing right through people and missing enemies to hit team mates that's why the majority of archers are terrible. If you'd actually have the stones to climb down off your horse and lower yourself to actually play and experience the console version of Chivalry in a lobby of pc players you'll be humbled pretty quickly my friend. Regardless, the bait of my video worked and showed me more about parts of the community and their clear insecurity about archers 🤣

In fact, I wouldn't even care if it was just regular aim assist but the game literally magnetises projectiles. I never trashed the console version as a whole or said that the PC version is better, that's all on you as well lol you've just gone on a huge rant about how shit the console version is compared to playing on PC and even suggested that console players are automatically worse for playing it that way which I totally disagree with. There are plenty of people playing on console that are way better than PC players. Honestly, the entire game state is piss poor at the moment regardless of what platform you're playing on. My opinions are based on playing since the launch of the public beta, not a few minutes of watching archer footage btw. Soo keep making your videos for fun and don't get so butthurt when people engage with them in a way you don't like. Especially when they compliment your skill and the negativity is directed towards the game and not you personally.

To say there's zero measure of skill in archery whatsoever on console is ridiculous, again if you have any experience playing the console version for any length of time you wouldn't have felt the need to criticise the aim assist in the first place. I'm not butt hurt, these interactions on the channel help me in fact. I've been posting gameplay from Chivalry since the closed beta, from last gen ps4 to current gen ps5 and archery isn't the cake walk you make out. I appreciate the compliment by all means but when it comes from someone who clearly has insecurity over 'skill' and 'aim assist' it's not worth much, for someone who clearly hates it why are you wasting your time watching archery videos? I've heard kids these days 'hate watch' and that it's a thing, I guess this is a clear example. Thanks for checking out my video though bro, sincerely... I've got about 100 MELEE focused vids on the channel that are more up your street
