Wow, this was an absolute test of endurance. Pretty awful to work on this for so long, but at long last, its done. I will never put a video of this caliber together again with such a strict deadline, if im going to work on something like this in the future, I will take my time a lot more.
Thanks for being patient though. This took 6 weeks and over 250 hours of editing. It was incredibly stressful, anxiety filled and I lost a lot of sleep, I didnt eat, I lost weight (im only like 95 pounds so thats not good) and generally just felt miserable as I sacrificed my personal life and free time to work on this anytime I wasnt bust with other things.
At least its done now. I hope you enjoy.

Another couple of tips for fighting multiple enemies. When moving, try to position yourself so that your enemies are getting in each others' way. Use body blocking and team damage to your advantage. You will want to alternate targets based on who presents the most immediate threat. If you land a hit, immediately try and get a hit on the next guy about to lunge at you, once you've staggered them, move on to the next person, etc. If you parry an attack, use your riposte (usually a stab) to hit the next guy who is winding up to attack.

This is THE Chivalry 2 Guide. Top notch content with wisdom, memes, and skill. Would love for you to dive into the Executioner's Axe though and give it another chance. I use it for badassery but get in the top 5 a lot with it too. Wouldn't be surprised if the halberd just outdoes it in every way, but would love for you to do a weapon analysis on that one specifically - maybe this could be a new series for you (specific weapon spotlights and gameplay). ChaseTheBro used to do that in DS3.

  • @Ziggylata

    @Ziggylata

    3 жыл бұрын

Executioner Axe is not horrible, but it has a lot of negative aspects and I believe it only shines a little bit in big team modes because most people arent very good. Its slow and has a bad stab, so most of its use is going to be from spamming heavy LMB into crowds and hoping for the best. Ive done well with it, but I certainly dont like it. The one positive thing I can say is that the heavy LMB does 70 damage while its heavy overhead also does 70 damage. Not many weapons get that kind of slash damage so thats pretty impressive, but thats about it.

@@Ziggylata to each their own! I personally love the executioners axe , and using it on the vanguard class has a great quick sprint attack to deal massive damage. And although the knife doesn’t do too much damage, it’s great to increase your chances against fast attack weapons.

It seem reasonable to have a really long guide for any Medieval combat game. In these kinda of game, there're alot of weapons & combat technics to used, some unique ability & using terrain for your benefit ... while you're playing with either 20-80 players or intensive 1vs1 duel. As a Mordhau player, even though the 2 game has many noticeable differents ... i can used 1/3 of this guide can be used successfully in both games. If you look at any Medieval-combat game guide in a ... kind of a nutshell, it all about how to be a "better player" in many situations as possible, both as a skillful combatant & being a good teammate (and in my opinion, a respectable opponent).

Thank you SO much for the discouragement of toxicity at the end there. Toxicity is the reason I stopped playing Apex, Siege, and For Honor, and I never want it to happen with this game. Matter of fact, what you said genuinely brought light to why I get mad sometimes and I'll be sure to keep it in my head that everyone is just trying to have fun-just like I am. We need more of that in every gaming community.

Absolutely amazing guide! I was a Chivalry player way back in the day, and had about 60 hours into Mordhau. When I picked up Chivalry 2 during the Steam sale/launch, I spent the first 3 rounds just slashing not even realizing there were other attacks (I stupidly skipped the tutorial). This helped me so much and after 5 or 6 hours of practice I’m finally getting a positive KD in most of my games. Definitely subscribed, kudos to the amazingly detailed video! 🎉 Edit: as a fellow KZreadr (sort of), you definitely could’ve broke this into multiple small videos for way more total views. I think you still should! Just my 2 cents ☺️

Also I played a game with you (or with someone using your name) the other day and you were really good; you were the duke at the very end and did a good job defending yourself from the other team which was otherwise much better than ours; I remember you had barely any health left at the end but luckily time ran out. But he isn't stupid. He says he loves chiv 2 because it's the only melee slasher that is actually different. Renown is Mordhau *BUT* rust. and so on so forth. Chivalry 2 is actually different and I respect his opinion, I just disagree. He's great fun guy and he is funny. He's like your bad*ss friend. Not overbearing, chill asf, just wants a good time. And all of his opinions aren't plain dumb, even if you disagree you respect him

One tip for consoles players: you cannot feint into the alternate by repeating the input on console. Say stab to alternate stab, slash to alternate slash. And there doesn’t seem to be an alternate button. You have to start the attack, quickly and briefly press block and start the attack again. This is how to switch to alternates.

Small but fun trick for shields: Pick up a large shield with the enemy's colors -- you can easily sneak around their left flank 90% of the time, if your heraldry isn't too revealing. I was able to easily keep my noble alive for half of my last elimination match by doing this, and the Agathians simply ignored the guy with the huge blue shield despite the red stripes on his shirt (although I stayed in the shadows to help conceal my allegiance). The only problem is the inevitable friendly fire you'll receive.

This doesnt work on normal players in most cases. If youre an Agathian and you pick up a Mason shield, it should swap automatically to an Agathian Shield (assuming no bugs). To your credit though, this works with odd-cases such as Peasants and VIPs such as The Duke, The Heir and Thorn. Probably the Monks on Galencourt as well.

@@Ziggylata It was on the elimination map where everybody starts as peasants, and I survived a remarkably long time doing this. I kinda figured it would work elsewhere too, shame it doesn't.

very good guide to get into the game properly, i had zero idea that strong attacks with blunt weapons went through multiple opponents, i had zero idea that the parry had a specific hitbox or that kick didn't do anything against enemies that aren't blocking i assumed i just missed the kick, also i did not know that weapons could outspeed the reposte attack and keep swinging on you. or that the duck has different quick animations depending which way you moved in. so many good tidbits that's easily missable especially coming from original chivalry as many of these concepts are new. and as i am playing man at arms i will be using dodge after attacks to maneuver more quickly around in 1v X opponents, and yeah rushing in alone and getting swarmed, that's me alright. i'll have this in an open tab and practice different things in this guide for a while i think.

The main thing that fustrate me so much in the game is indeed struggling to land an hit and dying in like 2 second during a combat (Lack of skills) But it was nearly impossible for me to undertand my mistakes and on what I should work on to improve, this guide you made helped a lot and now I enjoy the game way more

To accell, just lean (or turn) in the direction of the swing. To counter kicks: dont block, or kick into their kick.

This is so, so good. I’m a hardcore For Honor player, so I’ve picked up Chiv 2’s mind games and reads fairly quickly, but there is so much that this game doesn’t tell you. This was invaluable. (Btw, I do enjoy longbowman, but only to help outnumbered teammates, push objectives, cover teammates, and kill enemy archers (especially crossbowmen). I play a ton of Guardian, so I am used to small-range weapons if I need to 1v1. Not sure if this makes it any better, but I thought I’d let you know ;) )

I think the Engineer should get access to the Man at Arm's 50% less dodge cooldown. All of his weapons have hitstop and he doesn't even have a secondary weapon so he kinda sucks in 1VX. If he had the dodge cooldown ability and the user was good, he would be able to kinda take people one at a time in a 1VX. He would still have hitstop though so he still wouldn't be great in a 1VX just a bit better
