Community members speak out about Monroe County District Attorney Sandra Doorley

Rochester, N.Y. (WHAM) - Community members and elected officials met Friday in downtown Rochester to discuss Monroe County District Attorney Sandra Doorley’s April 22 encounter with Webster police.
“You showed us that the blue line they all so adamantly and vehemently speak of and execute their power under, isn't real when it comes to them,” one of the panelists at Friday’s town hall said.

Ms. Doorley received better treatment by the police officer(s) than most others. Her attitude and words would have had anyone else handcuffed and arrested. So, where's her mugshot? Give her a second chance? Absolutely 'No'! When she smarted off stating she knew the law better than the officer and whined that she had 'a bad day' made my stomach turn. My son-in-law has been a police officer 8 years and I'm all too aware he knows all about bad days and bad nights. She whined how awful it was to deal with multiple homicides. How would she respond to nearly becoming a homicide victim multiple times in one week or living with the knowledge she'd shot someone. Every time he heads out the door for work, he goes through a mental checklist of things he needs to do at home in case he doesn't make it back home. Ms. Doorley's heart is 'two sizes too small' to be DA.

She failed 'the code of conduct' for an attorney. I am saddened its been this long, and no action taken against her at all. He also didn't administer a breathalyzer,to someone who showed signs of impairment! And she called the chief while driving, who basically ordered his officer to handle her with kid gloves! No sir, they didn't handle it at all! The chief needs to go as well!

You give a second chance to a person who has made a mistake, who sincerely realizes their fault and who feels shame and remorse. Doorley's actions show her innate character as an arrogant self-entitled bully who believes in 'rules for thee but not for me'. This is not a person who is qualified to hold a position of public trust, a person who should serve as a model of professional comportment in the performance of her duties. A person of character and integrity would have already resigned in shame; she will only resign if she is given an ultimatum she can't fight.

I’m sooo sick of the “No one is above the law” bullsh*t! If she wasn’t above the law she would have been charged for fleeing and arrested on the spot. Plus the supervisor wouldn’t have made the initial officer with the bodycam step outside while he had a private meeting with the DA in her garage.

I almost always advocate for “forgiveness” but this situation isn’t one of those. Her apology can’t be believed because of the sheer amount of time and people she dealt with during the original incident - not ONCE did she acknowledge her actions or back down from her “above the law” way of thinking. She’s been in government for too long for that sorta mentality to disappear overnight. She didn’t “hold herself responsible” she got backed into a corner where an apology is her only (fading) hope.

Seems to me that her actions were pretty far over the line for a second chance. I would guess most of us would be taken to the ground, handcuffed and arrested had we acted like she did. Give her a second chance after she is held accountable!

She is so pathetic She is trying to say she wanted the police officer to know he was safe!! Bullshit!! She does not get a " second chance" For these people saying that is shameful!! She berated that officer over and over. She intimidated him by calling the chief of police, who did nothing!! Her whole behavior was outrageous, " I AM THE DA" She has made a disgrace of the office she held, she has made mockery of herself. She should have been handcuffed and taken to jail. I have had plenty of bad days, that does not give me the right to go 55 in a 35 mile an hour zone, then refuse to stop, when instructed to do so by a police officer say get out of my fucking drive way to him, throw my weight around, belittle, intimate for 30 minutes!!! I would have been arrested immediately and should be!!! My father was a police officer and got bitched out because he arrested a drunken big wheel. This is corrupt for other officials to defend her!!! Every person she has ever tried who was arrested and charged and sent to jail by her should be filing lawsuits!!! No wonder our country is on fire. This corrupt government is pathetic

Why wasn't she given a sobriety test, it looks like she took the evidence in her house. A traffic stop is one of the most dangerous thing for an officer to preform, that an domestic He allowed her to go to her car and remove something then take it in her house! No officer is going to allow that. All of this needs to be accounted for, the video does not lie. What needs to be investigated???
