I have a mei AE 2651 u7 bill acceptor. I sent in a bill acceptor for repair and it was returned with the same problem. The black push plate goes in and out like a jackhammer about 5 or 6 times then goes out of service. Cash box is stuck on due to the push plate stopping in the "out" position. I slid the front cover off and pushed the circuit board in to ensure that wasnt the problem. Did not fix it. Any suggestions? send it to you for repair? I did not send it previously to you but another authorized dealer. They seem perplexed

There are a few different failures that can lead to this problem, but none of them are repairable in the field unless you have good diagnostic experience, and spare parts. I would recommend sending it to us, as it will come back to you working, guaranteed. Clueless service centers are not uncommon in this industry. I would suggest avoiding whoever failed to repair this unit the first time. Instructions for sending the unit in for repair can be found here www.vendorstech.com/repair.

i made a mistake using a 24volt MEI from a American Changer in a 115v MEI in a Hamilton changer... The 24v MEI shorted out at the validator, I went had had new belts put on the 115v MEI validator , they cleaned the unit so well , it looked like new... When I installed the 115v MEI back in the Hamilton changer, it shorted out at the validator... The C2000 Controller tested fine, they fixed the 115v MEI which almost costed the price of a new one... Now Im unsure to put it back in service if some line to the validator or relay will short out the repaired validator

As long as you put it back into a machine that uses a 24 volt validator, it should be fine.

I have a coinco vantage and the service light blinks 2wice. But it accepts the bills with no problem. is there a way to reset it to remove the amber light blinking 2wice?

There is no way to reset that light yourself. We, or another service center, would have to do that. If the validator is still working, but flashing that light twice, then run the bill acceptor until it stops working before you send it in for repair. That light merely indicates (most of the time) that the unit may need service soon, not that it has failed.
