We share common 'good taste' because I own Lincolns and just recently sold my 1996 Olds Aurora. She was a dream come true. Only had 58K miles, Pearl White, Moonroof, Solid V8 the whole nine! Why did I sell it?? Because of ANOTHER 'common problem' on this gen of Aurora = CRADLE ROTTING !! The car has a separate 'subframe' on rubber mounts. The subframe rots and the car pretty much crushes down on itself making it unsafe and ultimately undrivable. Too bad GM didn't research/develop this gen of the Aurora better

Ohhhh very interesting. Mine seams to have a good undercoating with minimal rust but I’ll keep and eye out for that

Great that you made this video. I have a 1997 Oldsmobile Aurora donated from my father-in-law and I’m having issues with the windows and sometimes when it gets hot in the summer not starting change the starter a year ago was good then noticed summertime start acting up again, so could that be that ground issue through the fender, also my windows are driving me nuts they work and not work could be what could that be?

That’s awesome, window could be a loose connection on the door switches. It happened with my envoy

Auroras are overall a well built car, besides very specific flaws such as you mentioned, its sad to see such potential of a car to be hurt by design flaws, and GM being dumb. its weird to say that ive seen more 90's Northstar STS' on the road than ive seen these. Id recommend people who want something similar but most likely easier to deal with would be a 2000+ Intrigue, or late 90's if you want the 3800 in it lol. They are good cars, the LX5 is very good, a less annoying to deal with V6 Northstar... Then again you could get a 2nd gen Aurora but they are ugly 😅😅 The luxury of the Intrigue however isnt really good compared to an Aurora

I agree with everything you said. I guess people dumped the aurora when the headgasket blew and didn’t bother fixing it, that’s why I haven’t seen one since I owned the car lol.
