I've never played these guys. Looking over that Idea set, I've been missing out! Amazing to see Adal - ADAL - running roughshod over the Ottomans. That one battle at 3:00 - you must've had infinity Morale

Too be fair the adalites routinely stalemated or defeated ethiopia in battles, and even beat the portuguese a few times. They were pretty strong, as were the somali sultanates in general, they defeated european incursions multiple times. To defeat the last somali holdouts it took 21 years (1899-1920) are 3 nations (british empire, Kingdom of Italy, Ethiopian empire) to defeat them. They were fighting before ww1, and lasted till after it was done.

@@viniciusyugulis7278 Neither were nearly as strong as the adalites irl though, the somali sultanates were some of the only african kingdoms to repel europeans and modernize to that level besides ethiopia in sub-saharen africa. Songhai would be soloed by the weakest somali sultanate post 1530 because they started importing guns and cannons enmasse by that point and moved to pike & shot warfare.

Why didn't you form Somalia or the Caliphate?
