Welcome to this weeks Commander VS - this weeks episode is about having two people watch two other people play magic
TFW Justin has infinite damage on board and just continues to play the game.
Gotta agree with Stephen, seems like him and Jeremy missed a memo about what kind of decks they all were playing.
I’m okay with Jon, Jeremy, and Stephen not knowing Zulaport hits everyone. I’m not okay with Justin not knowing what a Black staple does.

These guys only play on video. I don't expect expert plays from these clowns. "Reading the card, explains the card."
That is an amazing gift to Director Kyle. A signed card with a sketch! Bravo
"John's over here playing vintage, and I have a tapped ant queen" best quote ever
37:44 Plays Westvale Abbey, 10 minutes later same turn, 44:44 asked if he played a land, 45:36 plays a 2nd land makes a saproling, game is at this point askew by a little bit, with an illegal black manasource available he should not have been able to reanimate 46:37 John would've still had metal worker and the game would've been different, John would've been up 2 life points. Justin's turn lasted eleven minutes and forty-six seconds from 37:34 to 49:20 at the end of the game Justin even admits he almost ran out and if he was one mana less 56:53
Professional magic as usual. History of this game: first land played - 37:45 I have not played land this turn: 44:48 plays second land 45:36 if I was 1 mana less: 56:56

What was with the Fight Club-style flash of Director Kyle's face at about 22 minutes in?
#TeamSuarez rocking the best Weather light Captain! Gonna use this list as part of my inspiration for the redesign of my artifact EDH deck.
22:24-22:25 confirmed Director Kyle West is Screenslaver
Jeremy Noell : What happened to Split Second? There haven't been any in a long time.
Zulaport Cutthroat is each opponent. Why it was better for this deck than Blood Artist. Glad you guys figured it out finally, good save, haha.

Yea, in the long run of the episode, it was. But that wasn't something that was planned from the beginning. Just kind of stumbled upon.

I though they were shortcutting it because the other 2 were gaining life whenever a creature entered. though the slimefoot hits everyone as well so whenever he sacked a saproling they should of taken 1
@DJTK119

Yes, Suarez should have taken 2 damage every sacrifice, and they would have taken 2, but gained one. Either way, they would have still been losing more than they were gaining.
Love you justin. It's always a pleasure to watch. But dont slow play these poor folks. You got the lock. Slimefoot, doubling season and alter. Just demonstrate the loop and give us another game man. Love you... but still

I feel he was unconvinced of the lock because they both gained life off his saps entering the bf. That in addition to his misplay of cutthroat and blood artist seems to have confused him. I was cringing as well when he played doubling season followed by artist and didn't realize he had the win.
Justin I watched your match at the scg invite against George Carr, you were on esper historic deck (cool idea), great match and great effort out there much love from a fellow esper player
This was two real commanders versus two decks that were way too fair based on generals alone.
You guys play every commander thank you so much
This episode is dedicated for all the people that miss the good old 1v1 commander vs series
Also, the wall deck is viable! New Arcades! I request new EDH with the new OG Dragons and Justin to play a viable Wall deck with Arcaded!
Loved this game for the combos.
Ah, #TeamParnell back on Golgari. All is good in the world.
Felt like kitchen table vs legacy ...
This is the lets watch Justin play magic episode.
AAAAHHHHH I've just caught up after watching every episode from the flip walkers one and can I say that I love this and I really want to find some friends who would do this sort of thing with me lol. Anyway, I was wondering if I could suggest a Commander variant that my partner and I made up one day which we think adds another level of creativity to the game. It's called Time-Shifted Commander. It's played just like normal EDH but the decks are more centered around two Commanders, now there's a twist, these Commanders must be the exact same character in the lore of the Magic: The Gathering. For example, you could have both Odric's as the Commanders, or both Marchesa's. Now this does limit the number of potential Commanders but there is still a large pool to choose from. Planeswalker's are also allowed as Commanders as long as one of the Commanders is a Legendary Creature; such as Samut, Voice of Dissent, and Samut, the Tested. I think you guys would have a lot of fun building these decks as the creatures usually play off each other really well, and some even add additional colors, increasing the pool of cards that would make up the other 98. I'd really like it if you did end up doing this. Thank you for creating this series and I can't wait to see what you guys come up with next.
I like the idea of playing a legend and an artifact belonging to them as your commander. You guys should do that sometime.
Anyone else notice the flashed on face at 22:20 I was like "what the hell was that?" And had to rewind and watch.
37:46 - Justin plays Westvale Abbey. 44:45 - Justin says, "I still haven't played a land this turn". He played Abbey this turn. 45:36 - Justin plays Swamp, his second land for the turn. Oops. 56:56 - Justin says, "If I was 1 mana less...." I think maybe he paid 5 for a Slimefoot activation in there somewhere, maybe, but still... It can happen that we forget we played a land with ~8 minute turns, but still that game would have probably have had a different outcome. Question to the CMDRVS guys - have you thought about asking a judge to sit in over with Director Kyle to keep an eye on the game. I don't think anyone is going to mind if the judge catches a mistake and you take the 30 seconds or whatever to fix it live. Not saying that would eliminate every mistake, but it would help. You guys are still my favorite Commander group to watch - a better eye on the rules would make it even better.
@PeteDoesGames
6 жыл бұрын
Hel Toupee there is no way they would ever go through the trouble of having a judge watch the game. This is for fun, there are no real prizes on the line. They don't really care about mistakes because, again, it's for fun
@Crunchatize_Me_Senpai

I like the mistakes. It makes things more interesting and keeps the casual feel that makes this show entertaining to me alive and strong. I think a judge would be a step towards taking things too seriously.
@mitchlyon5551
6 жыл бұрын
xOldSkoolHollywooDx it is still against the rules. Casual doesnt mean you get to cheat, just because you forgot (And the other people didn't catch it)
@Crunchatize_Me_Senpai
6 жыл бұрын
"Cheating" implies it was intentional. People tend to make mistakes when they start going off on a long tangent, particularly when it wasn't necessary planned for at that moment. Besides, these guys are good friends. I'm sure none of them would intentionally cheat, nor would they get salty over one extra land drop. And regardless, hiring a judge to watch over the game would subtract from the experience a lot. Having someone step in every time a mistake is made and force them to correct it would break the flow of the episode, and make them prioritize being hyper-focused on every little detail of the game over having fun playing it. This channel doesn't need to be that serious. I don't choose to watch this because I want to see spotless gameplay. There are plenty of other channels that tout that style. I watch because the laid-back nature of the show and the players makes for an entertaining experience. TL;DR No judges. That would be overbearing and boring.
@ttuts9082

if you don't know whether or not you played a land, the answer is yes. you did. and no, no one else at the table is going to allow for the possibility of you playing two by mistake because you can't keep track of your own turn.
Stephen, it's time to break out Karlov or Skullbriar
37:47 Justin plays Westvale Abbey as his land for turn 45:40 (obnoxiously long turn btw) Justin played his SECOND land for turn. Ironically kills John with that last sap but wouldn’t have been able to do it had he not cheated in a 2nd land. Pretty sure John would’ve either won the next turn or at least killed a couple of people.
Heyyyy im early this week good to see #TeamParnell back with the Golgari Swarm
How do we submit decks for viewer decks?
Was Jeremy referencing Repo: The Genetic Opera with his prey counter song? Because if so, that's fantastic!
Sooooo, Zulaport Cutthroat misplayed right?
The Decklist link doesn't work :(
At 53:30, Justin had the game won. sac the two saprolings to ashnods altar, generating 4 mana and dealing 2 damage to opponents, spend 4 mana to create saproling with slimefoot, geeting 2 because doubling season and repeat.
Great video
Are you not going to play with battlebond legends?
I cannot see what is drawing Justin these cards everytime something dies, can someone help? I might be missing something
Zulaport is each opponent.
I am the Justin Parnell of my play group. I’m tempted to get him to sign my chainer.
justin parnell played westvale abbey and a swamp in one turn tsktsktsk

Yassss finally Slimefoot!!!
45:37 Justin already played Westvale Abbey as his land for turn no?
where do we get decklists? i have a slimefoot i adore but i'd love to see any juicy tech in #TeamParnell 's deck
What card was revealed with unexpected results, when jeremy was playing with that guy?
30:22 Best Quote Ever
zulaport cutthroat is each opponent isn't it?
Drain army in full effort. Hoorah Parnell!
I spent way too long trying to see director kyle's face at 22:25. Popped up for what I am assuming is 1 frame.
Awe yeah, Justin played Slimefoot. Now, to see who gets to Pilot Najeela :D
Man sometimes it feels like everyone's having fun and just playing to have a good time, then other times it feels like suarez and Justin just go hard into the paint with the most powerful decks while Stephen gets mana screwed and Jeremy is like 50/50 whether he can play or not
Parnell, has infinite as early as 52:50 right? Doubling season + ashnod's w/ two sac triggers.
Came here because I wanted to see what a properly built Slimefoot deck was capable of. I was not disappointed.
1:00:50 Justin ssssure loves that straw long time. xD
I wonder what combo John had to finish them all?
Was there something reducing the cost of Smothering Abomination when Justin cast it? Because otherwise: 9-4 = 5, not 6.
51:00 The Ol' Steven Green Hand Peek
I would love to see Stephen Green play a superfriends ramos deck
That feel when Justin doesn't use the on-board infinite combo to immediately win
Tiny cup equipped. #cuptribal
Fun is being had!!
*in the voice of Darkest Dungeon's Narrator* Remind yourselves that Slimefoot is a slow and insidious killer....
*Watching this episode a week late* "Jon's not going to play Doran" *Looks down to see Doran in the thumbnail for the next episode*
With how much black Justin plays, I am surprised he mixed up blood artist and zulaport cutthroat. But either way I am glad to see Justin dominate with a Golgari deck. Especially Slimefoot as I love my Slimefoot deck. #Slimetime
decklists?
I play Slimefoot in brawl, love it
deck lists?
i have that same shanna. tis beautiful.
I know it might be a little late, but I would appreciate Stephen playing Mairsil, the Pretender soooooo much!!!
Fuel for the homunculus fan fiction!
How was justin able to get all of these saporlings becayse you have to exile 2 creature cards from a graveyard and there defenitley isn't enough creatures to exile to get all of these saporlings
So happy for slime time
Dat scoop on 22:25 xD

Darby McKilkannoncaid Yeah it's just regular old commander lol
35:47 Interesting moment here, not only did Jon overpay for the Metalworker by forgetting the reduction of the Inspector, the Metalworker was the 13th spell Jon cast that turn, so if it had been Aetherflux Reservoir instead (using the 3 full mana from the Sol Ring + Voltaic Key) he could have gained at least 99 life from the cards that followed (Thought Vessel, Fellwar Stone, Mind Stone, Izzet Signet, Mox Amber, Metalworker (by using the Mox Amber and Izzet Signet for mana)). Quite amazing how that single change could have ended the game completely different! :)
22:25 Director Kyle's face flashes #Scoops #EasterEggs
53:39 Justin won right there with doubling season ashnods altar slimefoot and blood artist.
Justin won the second he played Doubling Season. Make 1 with Slimefoot, which makes 2, sac both to Ashnods Altar for 4, make 1 which gives 2, rinse/repeat.
Isn't Raff apart of the Weatherlight crew? I figured someone what have been apart of that good good

Stephen Green I would never Stephen. You've been my clear favorite since the first episode. Your style of trashtalk and light hearted approach to magic is similar to mine, so of course you're the best
Doubling season, Slimefoot, Altar just wins the game. Especially with an artist.
I have a question about shanna, sisays legacy. But can she be destroyed by the likes of shock or firebolt? The wording on the card is weird and all the rulings I've found online are... indistinct considering "technical" rulings and terms. The closest I've found that made sense was a reddit post basically Which said "If it comes from the battlefield its an ability if it comes from the hand its a spell" Which is a reddit post
Justin played Westvail Abbey at the start of his super long turn. I suspect he drew the reanimate at a point where he could only produce colorless. Not saying he was trying to cheat but Jonathan would still have had his Metalworker and Justin would have had 1 less creature to sacrifice.
justin plays at 38:08 taps for 9 mana plays 4 mana creature say stil haf 6 mana plays 2 mana creature ,taps 2 mana with woud be 6 plays commander for 7 mana
Also wish to see more of Jon's good good... js
john's deck looks sweet
I fully agree with Justin's statement that Slimefoot is the most important weatherlight member
Everyone should be losing two life at a time with Slimefoot and Zulaport Cutthroat. Each hit everyone. Zulaport is a Blood Artist with different stats.
When Slimefoot, Ashnod's Altar and Doubling Season gives you an infinite damage to every opponent combo, but Justin didn't want the episode to end super soon XD
37:46 to 49:15 should be redone... plenty of mistakes were made including playing 2 lands in the same turn (westvale abbey + a swamp later) and Cuthroat (which drains each opponent) was mistaken for Blood artist (which targets a player). Jon would definetely have lived, and perhaps combo'd off the next turn
wait a moment...when Justin sacked zulaport for mana to make another saproling when jon was at 2, when he sacrificed the last saproling, doesn't that put jon at 1? where did the extra damage come from at that point?
Suarez makes me wanna build Artifact storm now in commander

its fun with destroy target land and return target permanent to it's owners hand with a storm count of 5/6 on turn 5 xD and then machine gun everything with grapeshot for 58 when you get that (paradox) engine going
You guys should hit up the command zone and play against them Double archenemy style
Are you guys excited with Wall Tribal in core 19?

Ryan Skolnick. Screw that. It's all about horse tribal
#TeamParnell Biggest fan here. Can you play Krav, the Unredeemed and Regna, the Redeemer. It's all about sacrifice, creating tokens to sacrifice and gaining life. I also have a secret goal for you, gain as much life as possible so you can Aetherflux Reservoir Stephen in the face. Ultimating that doesn't happen nearly enough as it should.
