Let's be real; game one was lost due to everyone at the table feeding the rhystic a ridiculous amount. You can't give a combo/control player that many cards and expect you will be able to stop them when the combo comes.

Let's call this episode "Playing with artifacts". Emry can be really fun with the Mirran Spy/Lotus petal combo, infinite mana and stormcount in a very mana efficient combo.

I went budget and had to replace Lotus with the Eldraine X/X snake. No infinite mana but there’s infinite death triggers.

@@chachi_arcola With Emry out, you tap her to cast lotus petal from the graveyard, Mirran Spy untaps Emry, rinse and repeat for infinite colored mana/stormcount. can also be done with any zero drop mana rock as long as you have an artifact sac outlet.

This pod was too much fun. If only the game I won with Mirrodin Besieged wasn't too drawn out. I don't think I've ever seen anyone win with that card before, and it would have made for a spicy video 😁

Pretty rare (and dangerous), too... what normally happens is that either the Worldgorger Dragon or the Animate Dead/Dance of the Dead/Necromancy eats a well-timed removal spell, causing the player to exile all of their own permanents forever.

I'm surprised the Baral deck didn't hit a counterspell off of all those Rhystic Study draws in game 2.

I just played a game with Teferi, Master of Time tonight. He became an instant target and was difficult to remove for a while. Really strong.

I like that game 1 was 3 artifact decks, and a deck whose infinite combo involves an artifact. It’s like robot rampage.

Surprised the conversation was about the stax pieces and not the fact people just allowed draw after draw off Rhystic. You realize over the course of the game, Jordan drew an extra 7+ cards. That's a wheel. He had a whole new hand others didn't see.Joseph even had open mana when passing

Does anyone have a link for Joseph's playmat?

It's a minor thing, but you don't do things "in response to going to end step." You do them "on/in the end step."

This why l like decks with a backup play incase your main combo is locked from the Stax pieces naturally it's impossible for every deck to this but l think those decks that have a back up plan are strong

Loved the games! A bit confused with the Emry deck list having a Forest in it? I thought that violates commander color identity?

Lands are considered colorless, so you can run any land in any deck

Lesson one: stax is about resource denial, so never pay for rhystic study.

At some point could we see and Edric turns deck? I love these underdog episodes and I feel like Edric would be a solid choice in these videos, thanks!

We were testing out Twitter Polls for a season since it was readily available for us to use, but we are looking at changing how we poll for the fan favorites starting in season 4 (there is only the finale episode left for season 3

Questioning the tapping out by Baral for Teferi with only one card in hand. I don't think Baral is a tap out and pass style deck. Plus, having to toss Frantic Search when you're on two cost reducers makes it draw 2 discard 2 for U, which next turn would have been way better than 1UU for Teferi, which ended up draw 4 discard 4 with the ability to only keep one card.

@21:35 that's 6 mana, a tutor for walking balista and heliod out (and grand abolisher to stop interruption), so that's a win if cursed totem wasn't out, right? EDIT: 23:00 Yep nevermind haha

Should have countered the tutor , when someone tries to remove the stax piece before their turn. That means they going all in for the win, I’m not allowing any tutors to resolve when I see what’s going on. 2nd game why would you not use Izzet charm for the two damage and kill the grand abolisher on his turn or end step next round. The fact abolisher stayed on the field , made no sense

Emry is way underrated in cEDH. I brought it to my table and everyone was like “huh?”. I didn’t get how they couldn’t see her viability as a commander. I even started with Leyline in one game and played her on turn 0. It was over by turn 2

Game 2, Baral had 7 cards in hand an access to 10 Mana and not a single counter spell??

you can do Tefeeri's loyalties while Grand Abolisher's turn is active? Wow, Grand Abolisher literally only specifically stops creatures, artifacts, and Enchantments. Not plainswalkers.

How was adam using his planeswalker on other peoples turns?

Have you ever had an episode where a deck ranked 9/10 or even 10/10 on your competitive meter? I feel like all I ever see is 8's.

game one is why I tell people not to feed rhystic study

In game 2 Copter couldn't be crewed because of Cursed Totem. Crew is an activated ability and I didn't see anybody here notice this.

Crew is an activated ability of an artifact vehicle, before it becomes a creature. It would be affected by null rod effects, but since it isn't a creature until the activated ability resolves, cursed totem doesn't prevent this

Regarding stax. I totally get that you should watch out for the person who destroys a stax piece because they're probably going to try to win with it gone. But really as long as the stax player doesn't win I'm cool with it.

You might want to find a different sight other than Patreon. They just lost a pretty major lawsuit against Owen Benjamin's fan's which is going to open the floodgates for other lawsuits to happen. It will bankrupt Patreon
