    why not interview other more credible LGBTQ ex-Scientologists, such as Serge Del Mar, Oh No Nora and Liz Ferris? I know it's your channel and your show, but Steven Mango's credibility is lacking and imo it hurts the cause of exposing Scientology's abuse.

    @@mangoman7591 I think the drama channel stuff you posted years ago, in conjunction w the ex-scientology stuff was extremely confusing for people. Especially those who were just learning of the atrocities of scientology... "is this legit or just drama for dramas sake?" It seemed like you were *JUMPING ON ALL THE BANDWAGONS* to see 'which would make you famous' so was hard to believe the authenticity of *any* of it. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I'm not saying what you did was wrong (your journey is your journey) but that ABSOLUTELY helped shaped ppls opinions of you, so their skeptical opinions make sense thru that lense, IMHO.

    Hey Andrew! Thank you so much for having me on. It was great chatting with you and sharing my story with everyone watching. I truly hope people can see beyond my sexuality and focus on my experiences in and out of Scientology. I joined when I was 18 and had to hide my sexuality for my own safety back then. To those leaving negative comments about me: I know firsthand how Scientology tries to attack, discredit, and tarnish the reputations of those they deem their enemies. I was declared a Suppressive Person in 2014. For those recalling my beauty & makeup gossip channel from 2017, I was embodying a character that "spilled the tea” for entertainment purposes. That persona doesn't reflect my current self or my dedication to unveiling the truths about Scientology. I also wanted to touch on the SPTV community topic. I'm not involved with them, mainly because of a dark period in my life post-Scientology several years ago. At that time, I was at such a low point that I attempted suicide. A well-known critic was secretly auditing me outside of Scientology while prohibiting me to seek out mental health care. They were aware of my intentions to end my life, as I informed them while heading to Vegas to attempt suicide once I got to my hotel room, yet they chose not to intervene or contact my spouse or emergency services. I’ve shared extensively about that experience and the harm that person caused, not for drama, but as a part of my story that I thankfully overcame. Currently, I'm studying nursing and cherishing quiet moments offline with my husband of 11 years. While I may occasionally post on my channel, the trauma and PTSD from my past drive me to focus on healing and moving forward. Just to give the audience some insight, I live with a severe health condition that inflicts constant pain due to tumors throughout my body. Revisiting my past and those memories of Scientology only intensifies it. I'm genuinely excited for everyone to tune into our full conversation on Saturday! Also, check out my documentary "Inside the Scientology Celebrity Centre: An Ex-Parishioner Reveals All" on my channel.

    The point is that scientologists claims that their religion is not like others and they don't try to convert gay people, but they totally do and they brazenly lie about it. Scientology is deceptive beyond belief, most especially to those that they can easily prey on...like gay people. You can at least count on hardcore religious fundamentalists to be honest about their homophobia, scientology however is just insidiously-sneaky about it.

    Well, Karen publicly advertised her auditing services for many years. She was in every Independent Scio auditing newsletter where auditors place their ads. People simply didn't notice because they don't pay attention to The Freezone movement. I pay attention because my mother was deeply involved with it. As someone who was born/raised in Scientology- I find it weird that someone who says they are against Scientology practices & profits from Scientology's #1 money maker. Which is auditing. I'm not cool with that. In fact, many of us are not. When I asked publicly why Karen still audits for a profit$$- She had me removed from the FB Group where I asked the question. I am against Scientology. Some of you Karen defenders need to ask yourself the same thing. If you are against Scientology- Why do u defend wealthy auditors? If people defend Karen- They might as well defend Grant Cardone.

  • @123GedankenSindFrei

    @123GedankenSindFrei

    7 ай бұрын

    @@diannetex yeah hm... my answer would be: I don't think the comparison to Cardone is fair because he is officially a Scientologist in good standing and associated with the organisation. If Karen makes money auditing in the "Freezone" I would think that would be OK if nobody is forced or coerced to buy her services - if people believe in it, and believe that paying money for it needs to happen then so be it. It is a weird belief, but it does not seem to be happening in a coercive cult environment.. or does it? Another consideration I have is that OSA is of course very pleased when Scientology critics do infighting and get into arguments with each other. Mango and "DazedButNotConfused" both assert quasi-criminal behavior on the part of Karriere and Augstine ... somehow I don't seem to see it. They are not killing peoples pets or write bomb threats on other people's stationary Marty Rathbun was also doing "Freezone Scientology" while he as a whistleblower. I simply would accept that, people do stuff a lot weirder than that - as long as undue influence and coercive mind control are not part of it. My 5 cent.

    Conversion Therapy of any kind has been outlawed in Northern Ireland btw, only country in the UK to dod so! Who'd have thought that the land of religious nutters would be the first to ban it. Or maybe that's why they needed to do it. I'm still not quite sure! This is the country where the DUP wanted to bring in a Conscience Law, allowing people to vote along their religious beliefs in the parliament. My dad thought it was a good idea. I said so what about when it leaves parliament and people in regular jobs start using it. Say A&E surgeons. What if your gay nephew and his husband are travelling up to get the plane and in are a car accident. Do you want the surgeon to let them die because you know he doesn't want to operate on a gay man? Or catholic doctors refusing to give out birth control to unmarried women? Well the second example he agreed with but this is a man who went out with my mother for 7 years before they married and waited to have sex until his wedding night!!!!!!!!!! But he did agree that letting my cousin die was wrong. Although sadly said cousin has now become horrible anti trans person and in fact told my parents about my child being trans. So at the next family gathering where said cousin was I was held back by several other cousins from putting him back into a wheelchair again. Whole being paralysed while doing yoga in Ibiza back story there. Good job his mother and grandmother were dead at that point as granny may well have put him over her knee! As she was one of his greatest allies when he came out in the 1980s and she was born in 1910. Just as I know she'd be for my child if she was alive today. She almost made to 100 though! a good innings. First time she got on a plane was 1982 to go see her brother in LA. She was very cool lady.

    Hi Nora, Having spent 14 years, either in Scientology or actively observing from the outside, coupled with many years of research and consistent monitoring of Scientology-related developments, I'd say I'm more than qualified to discuss the subject as a critic. There are many "never-in’s" and Scientology watchers who've never been inside the organization, yet they run channels or blogs to raise awareness. The inclination among ex-Scientologists to rank the severity or authenticity of experiences based on duration of involvement is puzzling to me. My time as a public member at the Celebrity Centre is a testament to my firsthand experiences. Every word I speak is sincere and genuine. Labeling me a liar is not only hurtful but unfounded. My decade-long stint as a critic began during KZread's early days, alongside people like Tory Christman and Mark Bunker, way before SPTV was a thing. I worked on "My Scientology Movie" in collaboration with Louis Theroux and the BBC. Your persistent assertion that I claimed to have "drank bleach" for example remains baseless. I challenge you to provide evidence of such a statement because it simply never emanated from me. You say things like this to try to affect my credibility by saying I “copied your story” when I never did. Currently, I'm concentrating on my college education and I have taken a hiatus from content creation. Sharing my personal ordeal concerning Karen's abuse towards me during a suicide attempt in Las Vegas isn't drama; it's an integral part of my life story. I can't comprehend your animosity towards me, especially when I've distanced myself from you and many other ex-Scientologists. Regardless, I genuinely hope you find healing and peace. Wishing you well.

  • @OhnoNora

    @OhnoNora

    7 ай бұрын

    @@mangoman7591 ummmmmm Hi Steve, firstly, you began the “animosity “ when you started a smear campaign against me years ago for no reason whatsoever and mocked my suicide attempt that you then copied for clicks. Secondly, I was speaking out before you, before SPTV, before all of this. And yes I was born into it. I didn’t walk in on purpose. I didn’t have a choice in the matter. I barely escaped with my life. I didn’t have the luxury of lurking from the shadows and researching it in a posh environment with a rich husband. I had to fight for over a decade to deprogram my own mother to save her losing all my friends in the process. So no we aren’t the same. Are you as trained as me? No. Did you have the same experience as me? No. Did you live you life on the inside? No. Did you survive the RPF? No. Does that mean you don’t have a story that is real and relaxant to you? No. But stick to that. Stick to the rivers and the lakes that YOU KNOW. Don’t veer off into things that you THINK you know about because you read about it. Because you can’t ever know about them. You don’t want to. I am glad to hear you are getting higher education. That is truly wonderful. I hope for that for all my kids. If there is a different version of the past then your videos as I recall them tell a different tale. But I hope you are good and you can move forward from whatever was going on before. But like I said, stick to your story.

  • @mangoman7591

    @mangoman7591

    7 ай бұрын

    @@OhnoNora The issue at hand is this: maintain the same level of energy and fairness towards each other as you direct towards me. It's perplexing when I faced criticism for selling merch, for example, which is something almost every SPTV channel now does. Or when I raised $200-300 to fix my broken camera at a time when I was $50k in debt and had a negative checking account balance, just so I could produce content about Scientology. Meanwhile, there were instances like your GoFundMe aiming for around $40k (can't recall the exact amount) to make content or Mark Bunker getting applauded by this community after raising approximately $80k for a documentary that never got released. Yet, no one think that’s problematic. I’m held to an unfair standard. I've always been cordial and genuinely fond of you during critic events from years ago. So why when I‘d voice criticism over the years (with things going back 10 years ago now) it’s labeled as "drama" or "infighting" or even call me "OSA"? Yet when others critique me, it's considered acceptable and that’s A-OK? The victim ranking game is damaging. One of Scientology's core objectives is to exploit newcomers. While I've never said my experience was the worst, it remains valid. My journey mirrors that of the aspiring actor who’s an average Joe getting wrapped up in Scientology. Many have expressed how my story resonates with them, as they can't necessarily relate to the likes of Mike or Marty. I’m sure your story hits a certain audience who watch all of your videos in the same way and they may watch none of Aaron’s. The last video of mine you probably have seen dates back to 2014 or 2015. At that time, I was a traumatized 21-year-old grappling with PTSD (not all due to Scientology), facing serious financial challenges, and having serious mental health issues which I don’t struggle with today. None of us remain the same over time. However, what genuinely does distress me is the memory of being on the brink of ending my life at the Cosmopolitan hotel in Las Vegas. Instead of KDLC calling 911 (she’s the only person I told I was about to attempt while in transit to the Cosmo) or contact my “rich husband” in your words, she expressed concerns about avoiding a 5150 and receiving potential subsequent auditing with her instead. If discussing this openly is dismissed as mere "drama" on par with celebrity gossip, then I don’t know what to tell you if that’s acceptable in your eyes. I felt it was only right at the time to share my experience with the ex-Scientology community as a cautionary tale since I posted frequent videos about my life.

    Yes we all change over time. These are facts. I am not ranking anyone’s trauma. That seems to be everyone else’s game. My point is I was born into it and you chose it of your own free will. We aren’t the same. Our trauma is similar not the same. See. No one’s trauma is the same. My knowledge of Scientology far surpasses yours, that is a fact. Why, because I have more experience in it. I was more trained in it and I did more of it. That’s all. Not because I’m better than you. I just spent thousands of hours more than you did actually doing it. That’s all. It isn’t superiority. I LOVE basketball. I have watched it my whole life. I played it from age 7 to age 18 on teams. I lettered in it in high school. Does that make me Sue Byrd? No it doesn’t. Absolutely not. So no we’re not the same. Yes I raised some money & it helped me get my channel started. Not in the way I first intended to do which was just a documentary about born ins like me. But I have done loads of content now that has helped people get out and I am proud of that. So if you’re coming back on the scene now to contribute and help people leave, fantastic. If you’re coming back to tell your story, Awesomesauce. But if you’re here to sensationalize shit and try to talk about things like an expert then I’m sorry I will call that out. That’s not you. Leave that to the people who know. It’s ok that you’re not. Just be truthful. Things happened to you. They were shitty and wrong. The cult is awful. They need to be stopped and your story is valid. But what we all say matters it’s important. It actually matters to me. That’s all. Also we saw each other at one event that I recall, with Karen at a Mexican restaurant. If there was another I don’t remember. Maybe at a house with Rachel? I’m not sure either way yes we were cordial. There’s no reason not to be now.

    @@OhnoNora Absolutely, I agree. The experience of being born into Scientology and all that it entails is terrible. I know many other second gens. I acknowledge that you have spent countless hours and many more years to Scientology than I have, and I never undermine that fact. I believe it's important for you to share your story on KZread. Each person has their own unique perspective on different aspects of Scientology and it's cool to see many more individuals coming forward share their experiences, which was not the case in previous years. To be honest, I don't think 17 or 18 years old qualifies as a fully fledged "adult." I walked into Scientology of my own volition, but I view it as being in an abusive relationship for why I went back day after day. At that age, your brain isn’t fully formed for complex decision making. I don't claim to be an "expert" on Scientology, but I do share my own experiences both within and outside of the organization. I don’t claim to be a Mike or Marty. However, just to provide some context, I was present for several months during Marty's time, both alongside him and with Louis Theroux during his periods of transitioning back into Scientology. I participated in many protests outside LA Orgs, holding signs and organizing them. It's worth mentioning that my dog was poisoned right after Chrissie Bixler's. During the height of my channel's popularity, numerous people reached out to me seeking assistance, and I certainly did my part as a critic in a time before Going Clear, Aftermath, etc. I believe you have a preconceived notion of who I am or what my intentions are, but that does not reflect my current reality. I am no longer pursuing acting as I did a decade ago. Right now, I am focused on my college education and moving forward in life. I am not actively creating content or seeking to become a spokesperson for ex-Scientologists by any means. I simply share my personal experiences based on what I have lived through. My main point isn't about you fundraising as much as it is about the double standard I faced in the past. I received a lot of criticism for selling merch or even just monetizing my videos years ago, while now it seems like everyone else does it without being labeled as a clout chaser. In this case, I accepted an interview request. I have no desire to be famous, and it bothers me when others only want me to talk about Scientology online and aren't interested in other aspects of my life. The last time I recall seeing you was at the Center of Inquiry during the Jamie DeWolf and Chris Shelton event. I honestly don't harbor any dislike or hatred towards you. I actually really liked you when we were cool in years past. What does make me sad is when others in the community don't give me a chance, especially during the early stages of my departure from Scientology when I needed that support. During that time, I was taken advantage of by KDLC. I could walk by a homeless guy passed out on the sidewalk & take the $20 bill out from his hands. Yes, he may be an easy target, but what does that say about me for doing that? I was dealing with mental illness at the time and acting out, I acknowledge that, but I have grown and evolved since then.

    Oh no, it's Stephen Mango. He spent a short while in Scientology, some years ago, before leaving to marry his elderly husband. He made up so many stories about being constantly pestered when he left. He had no proof whatsoever. He had a Utube channel which eventually stopped posting. He's a perpetual victim.

    Is that him? Crap, I remember when he started a LOT of horrible slanderous stuff about ex Scientologists. He's a horrible person or was. He looks different than I remember him from his older videos. I won't support Andrew by watching that video when it comes out, BUT I will be all over the comments. Shame on Mango. Nasty man.

    So he didn’t have proof himself so that makes it untrue? Many who have been ‘pestered’ as you put it don’t have proof, so all that say it without proof are not being truthful? Ever think maybe the channel stopped because of harassment? And who cares how old the person he fell in love with is? Love is love

    His channel stopped because he made up a fake fight with another KZread creator. He came clean about it and people just saw him for the fake person he is. He likes to be a victim he has also been trying to get Leah and mikes attention for years. He wants to be in with the famous or well known ex Scientologists.

    @@JulianaBittencourt24 Sadly if you do not make more clickbait titles people don't want to watch the video. Very much a vicious circle on YT. A creator friend has less than 15k subs after 10 years of crackingly good content. He doesn't put any adverts in his videos and doesn't have any sponsors. He just provides some of the best tarantula videos on the internet. As it's all about care and husbandry. And making sure people have access to good information and the ability to care for their pets without having defensive spooders. He doesn't take any money from anyone and is a special needs teacher as his main job still. Just a really lovely man and also his family are lovely too. My wind down on a sunday night is Antiques Roadshow and his weekly podcast.
