I don't believe its a genocide, and I've read the genocide convention. Israel has absolutely committed war crimes, but the key reason I don't believe it fits the definition of genocide is because all of the criteria it lists must be "committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group", and the numbers play a big role in why i dont think this part of the definition is fulfilled. If destroying the palestinian ethnic group were israels goal, they'd be able to do this ver effectively. They know where the civilian areas are, I'd expect that if they wanted to theyd have no trouble killing 30,000 in a day. They are however ambivalent about the loss of civilian life, but thats not the same thing. In the battle of mosul, the same number of civilians were killed as in gaza so far, and that was while civilians were able to leave the city. By the end of the battle, there were less than 300k civilians in mosul, meaning that a tenth of the people who stayed were killed. While the syrian government and ISIS's Actuions were certainly evil, it was definitely not a genocide, everyone was the same ethnic group. The syrian government just didnt care enough about the loss of civilian life, the same as israel.

Palestinians live in an apartheid, colonial-settler state, one that has dispossessed them of their land for some seventy years, has forced them to live in dehumanizing conditions that are worse than an open-air prison (unlike Palestinians, inmates are not periodically bombed), persecutes them for their religious affiliation, devastates them economically, seeks to (and yet has failed to) break them psychologically, interminably terrorizes and periodically massacres them as a policy (some of Israel’s politicians speak of killing Palestinians as ‘mowing the grass’).

And what about the Syrian people. Three million refugee, hundreds of thousands killed. By their own government. Sudan. Five million displaced citizens. Yemen. Humanitarian crisis bar non. Why is it these people don't talk about this. No Jews involved. Doesn't get you headlines. Or are those people not as important as the Palestinians. For this reason alone, yes, it is anti semitic. There were tens of thousands Jews in Egypt sixty years ago, today there are zero. Has he spoken of this. That's why I'm a Zionist. Because his and others hypocrisy.
