Comedian Bassem Yousif Shocking Interview with Stephen Sackur

During an interview with the BBC aired on 16 February, Egyptian-American comedian Bassem Youssef criticised the West’s support for Israel and emphasised that as an American citizen, he wants US President Joe Biden to lose the 2024 presidential election over his pro-Israel policies and refusal to end the war on Gaza.

This weak ass, so called, journalists, cut quite a bit of tape there about the made up claim of “antisemitism” that Bassam was saying, “dude, it’s BS and the real bigotry is toward the many Palestinians who’ve been knifed shot and killed, not some kids crying in their dorm over some pink haired kid saying, “from the river to the sea Palestine will be free”. Nobody over here equated that with meaning anything other than, “hey, free all Palestinians” The Israel lobby is the one who has to do the victim framing, which is to shut down dialogue by calling people antisemitic. IT TOTALLY WORKED HERE, THAT CLOWN IF AN INTERVIEWER GOT AO NERVOUS, HE CUT THE TAPE, L😂 We are experiencing McCarthyism over antisemitism. This is crazy!

I have seen Sackur taken to the cleaners several times by highly intelligent and well educated individuals and each time in Britain he's been mocked for it. Sackur forgets the main tenet of an interviewer as Jeremy Paxman once stated -"As an interviewer your personal views and opinions mean nothing because you are not there to use it as YOUR soap box. You are there to ask questions that hopefully get to the truth and make it VERY unconfortable for politicians" and if anyone EVER saw Paxman at his best would know that he was a latterday Robin Day of the interview .

There is democracy in the sense of elections but the selection is limited (we see that in Western countries more and more as well by the way, I mean just look at the US, you have a choice but the politics in certain topics is predetermined). Did the interviewer notice Bassem’s stance on US foreign policy? He would have never been considered for a political position and I doubt he would have ever sold himself out. Bassem has integrity.

Here is an example to the absurdity of the Status Quo. The US war on Afghanistan cost the US $ 300 million a day for 20 years. At the end of which the US army with all that capital couldn’t defeat a bunch of fundamentalist fighting from caves. Now imagine if the US pumped $ 300 million a day for 20 years in to the Afghan economy? There would be no Taliban today. Point being the objective wasn’t to fight the Taliban or liberate the Afghan people, the objective was to spend $ 300 million a day for 20 years with practically no oversight on that spending. In Israel, the Gaza war costs Israel around $272 million a day, Imagine if the Israeli government pumped $272 million a day in to the economies of the West Bank and Gaza? There would be no Hamas. I guess the argument would be that this is too reductive and idealistic to work, but consider what the more ‘rational’ minds have archived here. This is why one mustn't conflate the horrors of the Israeli Government with the Israeli people, in the same way that you mustn't conflate the horrors of Hamas with the people of Palestine. There is a massive divide between the aspirations of the people and the governments that represent them. The question is why? The answer is the self interests of the people in power outweigh the interests of the people they represent.

Stephen's comment acknowledges Bassem's significance as a voice for many Arab Americans, Arabs in the Arab world, and Palestinians who feel unheard and marginalized by the media. However, Bassem's influence extends far beyond these groups. His message resonates with people of diverse nationalities, including Europeans, because he speaks with reason and articulates sentiments that resonate with those who value critical thinking. While Bassem's perspective is undoubtedly important for Palestinians and Arab communities, his broader appeal lies in his ability to articulate ideas that resonate with people worldwide. He provides a voice for those who believe in fairness, justice, and nuanced understanding, regardless of nationality. It's essential to recognize that not all Palestinians are responsible for specific acts of violence, and Bassem's ability to convey this message contributes to the fact that the Israel / Palestinian conflict is a lot more complex than Israel or many of the Western media outlets convey.

Whenever I would discuss politics with people, it was always considered wrong to sympathize with Palestinians. I used to say it out loud in the beginning and I was accused of being a terrorist. Since his interview with Piers Morgan, people are seeing the other viewpoint. We need to start seeing the reality of situations or injustice will continue.

Using Zelenski (the American poppet) as a positive example is sickening. And the reaction of Bassem (the noise that came out his nose) said it all. Ps. I am sure not many understood that the noise came from his nose. And not many know that this happens when you try to stop a sudden laugh. By the way, US has already its poppet in Egypt (Sisi). So Bassem has no chance.

Having listened all week at the arguments presented by the various countries before the ICJ, in favour of the right of self-determination of Palestinians, as enshrined in international law, I am increasingly uncomfortable at Zelensky bashing. I know Ukrainians, both Ukrainian and Russian speakers, some of whom were born in Soviet gulags, and they too want their country. They do not want to be sacrificed as a handy "buffer" to separate NATO and Russia. Of course Zelensky has cosied up to the US. Anyone fighting for the very survival of their country will take help from wherever they can. History has shown this over and again
